Chasing Time and Spells(mature)

"Mom, that was when he was healing my cuts, its not like he grabbed me and just gave me a hickie" She said, not mentioning how they had already kind of made out a couple times...she had convinced herself they were sper of the moments. "I know you dont trust him, but cant you at least trust me to make my own choices..." She sighed looking at her mom.

"Its not just his temper Ayane." Mom growled back at her daughter. Yugo took a few steps back, but that was it. His patience was about to fly right out the window. "Ayane, you know what I'm talking about right?" Mom frowned. After finding out about the hickie Yugo had left Mom and grilled Ayane for most of the day. "Now, if Yugo was a gentlemen..perhaps I could trust him." Mom stated with shifty eyes. "Gentlemen..a MAN who is gentle or manner-able(I know I just made that word up ><). Heh, words like that dont apply to demons." Yugo grinned. Mom crossed her arms over her chest. "You're very rude." she frowned. "Thanks." Yugo smirked.

"Mom...seriously..." Ayane growled. She was becoming almost as annoying as gramps with her constant worrying about her. "Mom, you dont need to watch, theres no reason, besides if your worried about him trying to attack me seriously the book will prevent him from doing so, theres nothing to worry about. Besides I wont be able to concentrate if I worry about having an audience..." She said as she got in between them and lightly pushed Yugo back, suggestively, not forcefully

"Fine." Mom frowned. "If he's only teaching you there's no reason why I cant come and watch." Mom suggested. "Absolutely fucking not.." Yugo growled, his eyes closed. "Teaching Ayane will be dangerous enough. I dont need you getting in the way." he stated..and pretty rudely. "I wont get in the way." Mom argued. "All humans do is get in the way." Yugo spat back. "Well tough. She's my daughter, and you're just a free loader." She pointed out. At that point, Yugo pushed off from the stated he was leaning against. He stood with his nose inches from Mom. It was a little funny just how much he towered over mom, but the woman didn't care and boldly stared right up into Yugo's eyes.

"H-hey mom..." Ayane sighed. "Well...Yugo was gonna teach me...how to use the sword....but well, I think it'd be better to do so at night, that way its when no ones visiting the temple and they wont think we're crazy...We'll be right in back in the woods, not in the city, we wont be in any danger" She said. "Come on mom...we'll be right in our own back yard" She said

"Is that so?" Yugo blinked. Unfortunately, Mom had walked outside just at the tail end of their conversation. "Whats going on tonight?" she frowned, her eyes locked onto Ayane. Yugo let out a deep groan. "Never had this problem with Kasumi.." he muttered, tho maybe not quite enough. "Ayane." Mom frowned. "Whatever you're planning do you'll have to do during the day. I'm sorry but I'm not bending on this."

"Alright" She said, she wasnt afraid of going against her mother when it came to certain things. Besides, she needed to learn how to fight. As he turned towards her asking about what Kenji had been talking about her face turned beat red. "N-nothing!" she said and stood up, blushing hard. "I-I'll see you tonight" She said

"In any case, we'll start tonight in the woods. Bring the blade." Yugo stated and closed his eyes once more. He hadn't forgotten that they were no longer allowed to 'see' each other at night, but Ayane needed the training. "Oh by the way." Yugo blinked. He uncrossed his arms and turned his body so he was facing ayane. "Whats all this about us at the beach and me covered in nothing but water droplets and sand...?"

Aya winced and rubbed her nose, glaring at him. When he mentioned killing again she looked down. She hated the thought of it. In his world...sure killing came easily...but for her in her world and time she was raised by rules and laws of it being wrong...it wasnt right to kill for revenge...revenge was easy...forgiving was hard...

"Easy." Yugo smiled. He leaned forward and flicked Ayane's nose hard with his finger. "Did that hurt?" he smirked. "Remember that pain. If I tell you to do something...like kill someone...its because its necessary. You'll see for yourself as you experience the consequences of your actions. That 'pain' will nag at you like a dagger in the gut. For example, those humans who tried to rape you in the ally. I should have killed all of them. Letting them off the hook will come back to bite you someday."

Ayane leaned back against the wall looking at him as he spoke. He actually talked about Kasumi, almost as if in admiration. It almost made her a little jealous. She wanted to learn, she wanted to become stronger, she hated feeling so week and needing to depend on him so much on things she should have been able to hand herself...like that night in the ally. She nodded her head as he told her to remember the difference of strength of will and stubborness. "But..how do you tell them apart?" She asked softly

"Teach you?" Yugo blinked. The wolf demon closed his eyes and released a soft sigh. "You know...the first time I saw Kasumi..I instantly knew who she was. She reeked of demon blood. It was like she had bathed in it. I didn't need a reason to attack her. I knew that if I didn't there was a chance I wouldn't get a second chance." Yugo whispered, his eyes still closed. "We fought each other three times...each time ending in a draw. After the fourth fight..the two of us were laying on her backs, both us near death. I looked at her..and for the first time I spoke to her. I asked, 'why are you holding back?' Heh, I could tell. She wasn't fighting me seriously." Yugo stated. Slowly, his golden hues peeled open. "You know what she said? Heh, she said that she was holding back because I had the gall to attack her without giving my all." Yugo smiled. This was the first time he had spoken of Kasumi without cursing her name. "Kasumi...she had a will stronger than iron. I can teach you how to use her blade, but you wont get anywhere unless your will is just as strong." Yugo replied softly then sat up. "Now, there's a clear line between strength of will and just plain stubbornness. You should remember that."

Ayane looked at Yugo as he called her. She sat down next to him and looked down, she nodded. She understood what he was saying and knew it was true, she had to learn more on how to sense things and of course how to defend herself. "Will you be able to teach me?" She asked looking at him hopeful. She honestly didnt know anyone better to do so.

"OUCH!!!" Kenji screamed. He rubbed the back of his head and glared daggers up at his sister. "I'm doing this for you. How about some gratitude???" he frowned. As he was shooed away, Yugo's attention shifted away from the siblings. He was still trying to put the pieces of his life together. Everything was scrambled. There was so much he didn't know or understand. "Ayane." Yugo called, his voice firm. "We need to prepare for the next battle. Until we get my ring back we'll have to settle with temporary contracts. You need to become stronger. There will be situations when I wont be able to protect you 24/7.."

Ayane blinked as she heard something familiar and her face turned red. She turned the corner and glared hard at her brother. "You little BRAT!" She growled and grabbed the book and smacked him hard on the head with it. "Spot going through my things you little creep!" She yelled and shooed him off

During the past two days, Mom had set a few more rules. She couldn't turn a blind eye to how violent Yugo could be. So, she limited the amount of time that Ayane was allowed to spend with him. They could only be alone if they were going after demons and the like. Otherwise, Ayane had to have someone with her.

"So like I was saying.." Came the sound of Kenji's voice from around the corner. Yugo was lazily leaning up against one of Grandpa's prized dragon statues. "You need to be nicer to Sis. I read in her diary that you always put her down. You always say mean things." Kenji frowned. Yugo lazily rolled his eyes, but then paused. "Wait..whats a diary?" he asked. Kenji smiled and pulled the book out from under his shirt. He could be sneaky when he wanted to. "This! It contains all her Sis's most secret thoughts." he smiled. "Like?" Yugo blinked. Kenji nodded and started flipping through the pages. "April 4th, I had the dream again, b-but this time it went further! Yugo and I were at the beach. He came out of the water dressed in nothing but tiny droplets of water. I watched intently as they ran down his chest, between his abs, and...and...and f-further d-d-down..." Kenji read with a look of disgust plastered over his face.

Two days passed before the doctors allowed Ayane to go home, where even there she was made to rest for another day. She was finally aloud to walk around at least. She walked outside to hang out with Yugo, she was wearing black t shirt and some jeans, simple, all she had to wear aside from her pj's and her favorite skirt. She had to go shopping at the thrift store. "Yugo...where are you?" She asked looking around

"That fair..tho you will have to marry eventually." Grandpa smiled as he gripped her hand. "Dad.." Mom sighed. All the conversation had woken her. "How are you Ayane?" she asked with a gentle smile. She moved over towards the bed and leaned down to press her lips softly against Ayane's cheek. "You have no idea how much you scared me."

Meanwhile...
Inside the Li mansion Syaoran stumbled into his room through the window. He slid down slowly along the wall connecting to the window. His body was burning. "God damnit!" he spat and tore open his shirt. Imprints from Ayane's hands had seared his flesh. "Hoho..." came a dark growl from a corner in the room. "Has the high and mighty Syaoran-chan fallen? How delicious." the voice laughed. Syaoran's brown eyes narrowed sharply. "Shut up and grab me a healing potion. These wounds are going to take a while to recover from." he  groaned. The voice laughed hard. "You're in no condition to be ordering me around. Heh, you tried to play nice didn't you? Pitiful. Next time we'll do things my way...Syaoran-chan."

"I know gramps, I love you too" She said with a light smile. She reached out and help her grandpa's hand smiling. "Just...hold off on any more blind dates for awhile?" She requested with a soft chuckle. Ayane glanced down at Kenji, she'd have to make sure to really thank Yugo later...maybe she'd get him one of the carmel mocha's she had shared with him, he seemed to have like it

Grandpa rubbed his eyes. "No child...I'm the one who is sorry." He sobbed softly. "Ayane..I know that..I can be difficult to deal with..but you must know how much I love you. You're my only granddaughter. You're irreplaceable." He whispered and rubbed his eyes some. Yugo shifted over towards the window. He had felt it. Not only had he picked up on the unique signature of Kasumi's spirit energy, but had also picked up her scent. Now it was gone tho. "What the hell is going on? Who is this girl?" Yugo thought to himself while eyeing Ayane.

Ayane laid back down after he pulled back a little. She smiled as he told her to rest and lightly chuckled. "Sorry" She said as he mentioned he had been smacked twice. "Sorry for making you worry gramps" Aya said, her blue hues looking to the old man

Both Yugo and grandpa blinked as Ayane hugged him. Yugo wasn't sure it was smart to hug her back. Grandpa was already grinding his teeth together. "Its over." Yugo whispered, his hot lips gently nipping her ear. He pulled back some. Sure, he wanted to comfort her more but now wasn't the time. "I want you rest ok. Thats your only job. Oh...and your mom smacked me...twice." Yugo frowned as he pointed to his cheeks. He had gotten smacked again after making a sarcastic remark to grandpa while Ayane was sleeping.

Aya look down and sighed seeing Kenji sleeping. She looked at her grandfather and shook her head. "Its fine Gramps..." She said lightly and looked at Yugo. She lightly squeezed his hand. She leaned over a bit and wrapped her arms around him. "I had....such a horrible nightmare" She said, she sounded so releived to see it was just a bad dream

Yugo stayed awake. By the time Ayane came to everyone, even grandpa, was sitting her room. "He's fine." Yugo whispered and pointed to her left. Kenji's head was gently resting on her bedside. His small hands gripped the sheets. Mom had passed out in her chair. Only granpa and Yugo were awoke, tho they hadn't talked. "Ayane can you hear me?" Grandpa whispered. "I'm so sorry. Words..can not explain.." he sobbed. "I never thought in a million years that the Li's would betray us." he stated while rubbing his eyes. "I did." Yugo stated flatly just to throw salt in the old man's wounds.

Ayane's body relaxed under his heated touch. She slept for a good hour before stirring. Her blue hues slowly opened, her hand clinging to Yugo's when she woke. "Wh..what...happened?" She slowly blinked before sitting up fast. "Kenji!?" She cried, looking around and then her hues came to Yugo, tears filling them seeing him sitting in front of her
