Chasing Time and Spells(mature)

Ayane blinked hearing the comotion outside, Her eyes widened when her changing room door was ripped off from the hinges. "Kyaaa!" She yelled threw her shirt into his face. "Get out you perv!" She yelled. Seeing Kota run in next she screamed again and quickly pulled up the dress, making sure it was in place. "Ugh..this day cant get worse can it..." She groaned and put her hands on her hips glaring at the boys

Outside, there seemed to be some sort of argument going on. Even Kota's voice could be hard. The argument quickly turned into yelling. "Hey! Dont you dare!!!" Came the sound of Kota voice followed by the sound of a hard *smack*. "S-Someone help!" came the voice of one of the workers as he bent down to check on Kota. The boy was currently laying flat on his back. Suddenly, the door to Ayane's changing room was ripped right off the hinges! In walked yugo, of course. The former alpha snorted as he eyed Ayane. "You stink..." he muttered. No, he wasn't referring to her regular sent, which he claimed to hate. No, now Yugo could smell Kota's scent clinging loosely to Ayane's body even tho they hadn't had much physical contact. "What is this place?" Yugo asked, his eyes scanning the room. "I caught your scent leaving the temple and decided to follow you. Then...I saw HIM...that runt." Yugo growled. Suddenly, Kota, who was up on his feet, came running into Ayane's room. "Hey I told you that you cant-" Kota hissed, but paused as his eyes fell on Ayane who was in the middle of changing. The boy's face quickly lit up like a christmas tree..

Ayane walked back into the dressing room and picked a room for herself. "Hm...it is cute..." she said as she hung it up and started to undress, pushing her skirt down, letting it fall around her ankles. She lifted her shirt over her head, for this dress she'd have to wear a strapless...She took her bra off to make sure it would look good. She leaned over and started to pull the dress up her legs

"Li?" Kota blinked. It was becoming harder to hide his distaste. During her last date, all his friends had begged him to stop Ayane. They argued that all Kota had to do was confess and Ayane would gladly go out with him. Kota wasn't sure tho. Ayane was a strong girl...and...he often wondered if she'd ever see him as more than a friend. Sighing mentally, Kota looked up at ayane and nodded. He figured that Ayane would want a few more choices so he went back to looking through the racks...

"Pretty much...I guess he's next in line to inheiret the Li family company in China" She said. Seeing the dress he picked she grabbed it and held it in front of her. "its cute...." She said. She kinda wished they had it in a dark red though. Red had always been her favorite color. Not that she'd ever let Yugo know that since he was a type of fire demon. I'll go try it on" She said and headed for the dressing room

"Hmm..." Kota muttered while he shifted through the different styles of dressed. He pondered how to help Ayane while avoiding helping the guy she'd be meeting. "Well this is another blind date right?" He asked. All of her dates as far as he knew had been such. "So...you want something that will make you stand out. At the same time, you dont want to look like you're desperate to impress." Kota stated, tho more to himself. "Do you know anything about this guy?" Kota asked. He pulled out a nice purple dress that had a black sash like ribbon tied around the waist. He loved it when Ayane wore anything colored purple. "How about this hm?"

"H-hey you cant pull that outside of schoo--"She was cut off as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the store anyway. "Ugh..your impossible...but thanks Kota" She said with a smile. She walked over to the dress rack and started to go through it. "Hm..something...nice but...casual maybe?" She muttered while looking through them

"Oh?" Kota smiled. This wasn't the first time he had heard Ayane say something like that so he wasn't too surprised. "Come on now. We both know that if Mr charming came and swept you off your feet you'd go without putting up a fight." Kota grinned while nudging Ayane with his elbow. After hearing her turn his offer down, Kota pressed on. "Fine. Consider this an order from your class president." Kota grinned. He had a habit of pulling that card out on Ayane whenever he wanted something. "So lets go!" Kota smiled and grabbed hold of Ayane's hand. He pulled her into the store and headed straight for the woman's clothes. Little did they know, they were both being watched...

"Yeah...I'm honestly just not interested in dating or anything right now, I just wanna let it happen naturally but Gramps is...well Gramps" She sighed and nodded, recalling how gramps had interrogated Kota on his family backround. "O-oh, no you dont have to do that, dress shopping with me is really boring" She said

"A-Another?" Kota blinked. He was trying hard to mask his distaste with surprise. "I see..haha..he's been doing that since middle school huh?" Kota laughed, tho it came off a little fake. "You know, I remember the first time I visited your home the first thing your grandfather asked was if I came from a family of priest. When I said no, he asked if my family had been monks or anything religious. He seemed disappointed that my family was made up of normal people." Kota laughed softly. His eyes widened a bit. This was his chance to spend some alone time with Ayane. He needed a small break anyway. "Uh..so..how about I go in with you? We'll pick out something classy for you." He smirked and shot her a wink.

"Oh...I heard school was going to be post-poned for awhile" She said. Her expression became shocked when hearing someone saw her. "Heh heh...yeah...crazy...I was at home...." She said, playing along with him. Oh god, what would her class mates say if they knew the truth. "Oh...Gramps is setting me up on another date tomorrow...he told me to buy a nice dress..." She groaned

"Well the teachers have been going crazy all day. Tests are coming up so they've been trying to find places where they can hold study sessions. Our teacher called me and asked if I could go around and check if there are any vacant shops in the area." Kota explained. He was always about business, always doing something for the school or teachers. "What about you?" he asked. It was rare to see Ayane shopping without her best friends attached to her hip. "Oh yea..someone in our class said something weird. You should know that there's a rumor going around that during the terrorist attack(what the cops are calling it), you were seen riding on the back of some half naked guy. I told the boy that he must have been hit on the head. As a matter of fact..you never showed up for school so there's no way.."

Ayane blinked and looked around hearing her name. "Oh, Hey Kota" She said and waved as he ran up to her. "You too, I'm glad your safe" She said with a polite smile. Her friends had always been trying to push her to go out with Kota, but she was never interested in him like that...plus she didnt think he thought of her that way anyway. "So what are you in town for?" She asked while looking into a nother shop window

"Ayane is that you?!" Came the call of a familiar voice from down the street. Waving at her was a tall brown haired boy from her class. Kota ran up to Ayane smiling happily. The boy had known her since elementary school. "Hey I thought that was you. I'm glad you weren't injured. Allot...Allot of our fellow students didn't make it out.." Kota whispered, referring to the attack. He smiled tho. Knowing that Ayane was unharmed was all he needed. The boy was the most popular guy in the 9th grade and even had the attention of a few older girls. Despite his popularity and charming looks, Kota was actually a nice guy. He stood up for those who couldn't defend themselves from bullies and carried out his duties as class president diligently. More importantly, he had the biggest crush on Ayane since middle school. Everyone knew.
The teachers knew, everyone is class knew, including Ayane's closet friends...even the janitor knew. The only one who didn't was Ayane herself.

Ayane slowly walked into town, her long blond hair flowing behind her. Surprisingly for being Japanese she was a natural blood, her mother had never been able to understand why. Her grampa always said she was special or something about spirits again... She wandered the sidewalks, looking at some store windows, deciding which one to go into

"You're meeting him tomorrow at noon. Remember, BEST behavior!!" Grandpa yelled from the door. "Dad.." Mom frowned from behind him. "Dont you start." Gramps frowned. "She needs to take responsibility for her station." he stated firmly. Mom sighed. "She's a kid. We talked about this. Let her finish high school. Then we can talk about responsibilities and such..." Mom frowned. Grampa shook his head. "By then there were will be no good young men left! Your daughter...she scares away the opposite gender.." Grandpa sighed heavily. Mom shook her head slowly from left to right. "She's just...wants to make sure that the first guy in her life is the right one. There's nothing wrong with that. Further more, forcing her to go on dates will never work. That I promise you."

"W-wait what?" She blinked, that was not the reply she had been expecting. "G-Gramps...I wasnt..." She looked down at the money in her hand her eyes went wide. He was serious.... "Ugh....fine, I'll try to me nice" She muttered and shoved the money into the depths of her pocket. She headed out toward the shrine's entrance. She had plently of morning left to shop for a nice but none expensive dress. She doubted the heir for the Li family would be expecting a real date... She'd give gramps the change and the recipt for the dress when she got home

"I see..hmm.." Grandpa whispered. He circled Ayane a few times. It was true. He had always been overly tight with money. Everytime either Kenji or Ayane would ask, he'd instead give them a long lecture on how poor their family had been when he was a kid. "You know what, you're absolutely right." Grandpa grinned. "The young man you'll be meeting will one day rule over the Li family. Normally, a wife would have been arranged from the time he was a child. This is OUR chance Ayane. You've already blown the last 5 dates I set up for you." Grandpa frowned. Honestly, he couldn't understand why his eldest grandchild was so difficult. Sighing, he reached into his robe and pulled a ten thousand yen bill(I think thats like a 100 bucks US) and placed it firmly in her hands. "I expect a report when you get back young lady."

Ayane took the piece of paper and looked at it. The cafe wasnt that far, she could easily walk there. When gramps started going on about marriage she looked at him. "Seriously gramps...first off, stop trying to set me up with guys I dont know. Second..." She looked down at her clothes. "These are more or less the only clothes I have left, so unless you wanna give me some money to go buy a dress" She said, thinking he'd refuse. He had always been strict about money

"I dont want him inside Ayane, period. Not till he learns how to behave." Mom frowned. With Yugo gone, she stepped back into the kitchen to finish cleaning up the mess he had made. Grandpa nodded. He reached into the right side of his robe and pulled out her a small piece of paper that had an address on it. "Lucky for us the future head of the family is here in Japan. I've arranged for you two to meet at a local cafe." Grandpa stated while handing Ayane the address. "Oh, be sure to wear something nice for a change. The future head currently has no wife. If we play our cards right we might just be able to set up a marriage between you and him. It would be a great honor for our two families to be linked." Grandpa stated with pride. Suddenly, he leaned forward, his eyes narrowing a bit. "So be on your very best behavior when you meet him!"

"Ugh...mom seriously..." She said while walking toward her family. When Yugo was rejected from coming back inside Ayane turned. "Mother..." She said but it didnt seem like she'd be able to change their mind. "Gramps...have you gotten in touch with the Li family yet about that ring?" She asked

"Nothing. I dont trust humans and I never will. Just consider yourself lucky that I'm not able to rip your head off." Yugo spat as he turned around and started walking back towards the house. When he got there, Mom was waiting with her broom held tightly between her hands. "Ayane come here now." she ordered. Grandpa and Kenji were standing behind her. "You planning on using that?" Yugo frowned while pointing to the broom. "Silence you. Listen, from now on you're not to set foot in this house without my permission. I cant trust you, not after the way you've acted. You'll be sleeping outside from now on." Mom hissed. Yugo shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever." he muttered and turned back around. "He must be sealed..he'll destroy us all if we fail.." Grandpa whispered. Yugo stopped. He turned slightly so he was facing the family. An evil smile slowly spread across his lips. Smirking, he turned once more and melted into the darkness of the surrounding woods.

"Well...he probably has, but at some point I stopped listening to his stories. I thought the were just the ramblings of an old man really" She said with a light shrug. She blinked as he asked why she was so willing to stand up for him against her family she looked down. "I dunno...I mean...It's not fair to judge others until you get to know them....if someone kept calling me a monster...what would be the point of trying to prove them wrong?" She asked and looked up at him. "I'm not trying to trick you or trap you. What do I have to do to make you trust me?" She asked

"That so?" Yugo frowned. "I know that your old man has told you plenty of stories about me. Surely, he must of said something about my tribe. I was tame compared to certain other individuals.." Yugo stated, but muttered the last part. The former alpha titled his nose back up towards the sky. The scent had vanished. "Maybe...I was dreaming..." he thought to himself. Sighing, Yugo turned so he was facing Ayane once more. "Tell me one more thing. I want you dead. You know that. You know that I'm a monster just like your gramps said. Tell me why you're so willing to work with me. Why are you standing up for me? If you think that I'll be lured into some false sense of security you're dead wrong."

Ayane stood firm as he snarled at her and then blinked as he turned white. As if he had seen a ghost. She stepped toward him. "Are you okay?" She asked confused by the sudden change in attitude. "Wha? Nothing...why?" She asked looking at him completely confused beyond all belief
