Chasing Time and Spells(mature)

Aya leaned back as he leaned forward. She crossed her arms. "What do you mean manipulated, He's the one who doesnt even want to be here, I'm the one asking him to stay and make the contract" She said defensively. Her expression became annoyed as yet another person tried to convince her he was dangerous. "He's only dangerous cause he has to protect himself from people who accuse him of such...if you were to oh, I dont know stop and try to get to know him maybe you would see he's not bad." She said. Once again defending him. She didnt react as he mentioned Yugo being right behind her. "He's here to make sure nothing bad happens" She said while looking and Syaoran.

"Well Ayane..about that.." Syaoran sighed as he leaned back in his seat. He crossed his arms over his chest and closed his eyes for a second. "I'd love to hand this over...really I would." he whispered and slowly opened his eyes. "However...my family has...doubts. You see, we know all about the demon you're working with. He and my family are...close." Syaoran smiled. "I'm not the head of my family yet. There are still people I must answer to. Those people are very concerned. To be honest, they question whether or not you're being manipulated." Syaoran stated while holding his hands up in defense. "Now, I dont think that, but I do see why certain members of my family are concerned. I mean, that demon is dangerous. He cant be trusted nor can he be trained. I mean, just look behind you." Syaoran blinked and pointed to the next table over. The moment he did, Yugo quickly hid his face behind the newspaper...tho he couldn't read a word of it. "You see? You couldn't sense his demonic energy could you?" Syaoran frowned, tho only lightly. "I was able to pick it up the moment I entered this city the other day....Ah! But of course I've been trained all my life to deal with this sort of thing..haha.."

"Oh goodness" She said with a blush. "Y-yeah gramps has always been on my case about 'staying pure' " She said. When he pulled the ring out her eyes settled on it. It was beautiful. "A-ah...I see...heh...lets just say I thought all of Gramp's stories were well...just stories..." She said shyly. She blinked as he put it back in his pocket. Wasnt he suppose to give it to her? "Well...if you already know..the thing is, I need the ring in order to form a contract with one of the demons who is willing to help me fight...sort of...at least until I am able to handle things on my own" She said while rubbing the back of her head

"I know! I get the same thing every single day." Syaoran laughed. "Mm yea, I'm only sixteen tho, but she doesn't care. You know, just the other day my grandma told me that if I dont 'use' it, I'll lose 'it'." Syaoran sighed while lowering his head. He loved his grandma, but she was just too much sometimes. Blinking, he looked up and pulled a golden ring from his pocket. The ring had a red ruby sitting in the center. Sure enough, there was glowing flame pulsing in the center of the gem. After showing her the ring, Syaoran placed it back into his pocket. "Ayane, no need to lie." he smiled. "Grandma told me everything. My family knows that you unsealed every single demon that Kasumi-sama fought. Many of them showed up in Hong Kong." he explained. Yugo's eyes narrowed. He lowered the paper so he could see. When he caught sight of the ring, it took all the strength he had to keep himself from jumping over the table and pummeling the 'brat'

"Oh gosh, you too? My grandpa said the same thing" She said with a soft laugh. "He's always setting me up with blind dates hoping I'll settle down and get married...I keep trying to remind him that I'm only 17, but he wont listen" She said. "Did your grandmother happen to mention to bring the ring that our family gave to yours to protect? We sort of need it back for a...ritual of sorts" She said. "Sounds wierd I know" She said. She hadnt even noticed Yugo in the corner

((Sure that will work. She can treat him like a dog when she gets pissed))

"No need for formalities." Syaoran smiled. It was hard to tell from his height and looks, but he was actually a year younger than Ayane. The boy took his seat and sat up straight. "Nice to mee you, my name is Li Syaoran, but please just call me Syaoran." he smiled, tho then leaned in a bit to whisper softly. "Hey, um...this is awkward but..my grandma told me that this was a date. She's been on my case about finding a pride." Syaoran whispered softly and sat back. "I'm sorry..but..I dont really go on many dates...so I really dont know what I'm doing..." he smiled while rubbing the back of his head.

In the background, someone was watching Ayane closely. Hiding behind a newspaper was Yugo! He had 'borrowed' some clothes from a near by shop to help mask his appearance. The wolf was wearing a baggy white t shirt that had flames covering the arms. He was also wearing black cargo shorts and shoes. His disguise was pretty good. He looked..normal, tho the heat radiating from his body would give him away easily.

Ayane was looking at the menu when she noticed someone walk up. Her cheeks turned pink as she stood up. "Ah, n-no, I just got here. It's very nice to meet you Mr. Li" She said with a smile and lightly bowed. "Yes, please" She said and took her seat. "Sorry for requesting your audience on such short notice." She said with a soft smile. "Oh, I'm sorry, My name is Ayane" She said softly

ooc: I'm thinking she should a similar command. Like, she just says the first thing that comes to mind and the book records it as a new spell

ic: Shivers ran down Yugo's back. He stared at Ayane in disbelief. He hadn't seen such a cold glare in a loooooooong time. Growling, he backed off, but couldn't stay away. In his gut, he knew that no one from the Li family could be trusted. Inside the cafe, Syaoran(how it should be spelled)arrived just a few minutes after Ayane had. He was wearing a dark blue suit jacket with a matching tie and slacks. He seemed to automatically recognize Ayane for who she was. "My apologies, I hope you haven't been waiting long." Syaoran smiled. For a boy frim China, his Japanese was near perfect. His big light brown gazed happily down into Ayane's. "May I sit?" he asked politely.

Ayane glared at him and turned her back to him. "Your such a jerk" She muttered sadly and continued to walk. When he tried to follow she glared daggers at him, a clear sign to stay the hell away. When she got to the cafe she sat down in a corner by the window and waited for Mr. Li to show up

"How dumb can you possibly be???" Yugo blinked in disbelief. He stood back, his arms now crossing over his chest. "Kasumi would have never gone in blind. You could take a few lessons from her..hmph." Yugo grunted and turned his back to her. He wasn't sure what made him bring up Kasumi, but sometimes it was just too easy to compare the two the girls.

"Yugo...stop...we arent opposing families, our families are old friends, other wise we wouldnt have ever given them such an important ring to watch over for us. "Just please...let me try, if I look like I'm in trouble, you can...I dunno punch him" She said. She paused and turned to face him. "Seriously...I'm trying not to get mad at you for something thats not your fault...I'm just really annoyed after having my ear chewed off for an hour" She said

"Hey, your mom asked me a question. Its not my fault." Yugo frowned. When she declined his advice, he bared his fangs at her and started poking her in the shoulder. "Look Stupid, you dont know these people. I dont care if this is the future. When two opposing families with higher than average levels of spirit energy meet, a fight always breaks out! Pull your head out of your ass already." Yugo hissed.

Ayane lightly glared at him but sighed. "What in the hell made you think talking about those cuts was okay...my mom didnt stop scolding me even as I walked out the door" She said, massaging her forhead. "Yes its the same dress, and no I dont need a sword. This guy isnt going to do anything bad to me, besides we'll be in public." She said and stopped to look at him. "Look...you can follow me, but you have to stay out of sight...if I scream or call for you then you can show yourself but seriously, just let me get the ring myself okay?" She asked softly as she looked at him. She normally would have been yelling at him...yet she was rather calm

Yugo jumped down from the roof. He could tell that Ayane was pissed, tho he wasn't sure if she was mad at him or...her mom. "Uh..so.." he muttered, his eyes on her dress. "Thats one that the 'brat' picked out right?" he asked. "If you're meeting with him, you should bring that sword. Things are gonna turn ugly quick." he warned her, while following her every step. Yugo had already informed her that he'd be coming along.

Aya groaned as she headed down the steps. She had such a headache from being scolded. Even while getting dressed and ready she had been scolded..her mother een re-did her make up while chewing her ear off. At least she was letting her go with enough time to make it to the cafe for her meeting....slash date.

Yugo blinked twice. Suddenly, he felt a little awkward. Mom was glaring daggers at Ayane and Ayane was glaring daggers at him. "Yugo-san!" Mom yelled, causing the wolf demon to quickly turn so he was facing her. "Did you makeout with my daughter?" Mom asked, tho her eyes were still dead locked onto Ayane. "H-Huh?" Yugo blinked. Things were getting a little too hot for him to handle. "Uh..you know what...I think I'll go...you know..these are human affairs and..what not.." he smiled while scratching the back of his head. "No need. I have my answer." Mom frowned. "Inside Ayane, now." Mom growled. She was about to talk Ayane's ear off for a good hour. Actually, it wasn't until an hour later that Yugo spotted Ayane leaving for her meeting/date. He was laying down on the roof when he saw her come through the front door. Mom had given her an ear full and promised to do so again if Ayane wasn't honest with her from now on.

"Yugo!" Aya yelled and flinched when her mother looked at her. "Damnitt Yugo..." She said as she shyed away from her mothers glare. "O-Okay, Okay so he didnt get there as soon as I said he did, but I'm okay, I'm safe no cuts, nothing to worry about. I let him heal them...I...I asked him to after he mentioned it...." She said as she glanced at her mom. She lightly glared at Yugo for getting her in more trouble but he couldnt really be blamed since she hadnt gotten to tell him not to mention anything....

Yugo snorted. He didn't care for the way he was being treated, especially after he had saved Ayane. "Well, I guess I'll go back in and finish up breakfast for the boys." Mom smiled. It looked like they were home free. Then, suddenly..Yugo opened his mouth. "You know, you could show a bit more thanks. I went out my way to heal all the cuts Ayane had on her body from that bastard with the knife." Yugo frowned. Mom froze in her steps. Slowly, her head turned. "Pardon?" she blinked. "Yea, she had cuts on her breasts and neck." Yugo stated. In a flash, Mom's eyes turned on her daughter. "Dont worry, like I said I healed them. The warmth from my tongue can seal small wounds." he stated causally. Mom's face went blank. It didn't take her long at all to connect the dots. "Hey Yugo...this hickie on her neck?" Mom asked while pointing to Ayane. Her right eye was twitching dangerously.

"Oh...well I might have gotten a little carried away.." Yugo shrugged. BANG! The blood vessel above Mom's right eye had just popped. Her eyes narrowed sharply towards her daughter. "Well well..it appears that WE weren't done talking Ayane Tenjin Mizaki.." Mom spat coldly. It was often that she used Ayane's full name, but when she did..it meant that she was beyond pissed.

"Well..." Aya started but her mother answered for her. She looked up at her mom as she firmly stated the rules. She sighed leaning her head into her hands, afraid Yugo was going to explode again, only...he didnt. She looked up at Yugo more or less backed down. She was more than willing to visit Yugo since he wasnt allowed inside

Mom was only half surprised by Yugo's answer. The wolf turned and crossed his arms over his chest. He didn't care what time he was in. If he wanted to kill, he'd kill...especially if someone deserved to die. However, when Ayane knelt down in front of him Yugo opened one of his eyes. He stared at her. "Does the lives of scum like the ones who attacked you really mean that much?" he asked. "Its the principle. You cant just..kill..even if they deserve it." Mom explained. Yugo lowered his head. He let out a deep, frustration filled sigh. "No promises..." he mumbled, which was about as good as they were going to get. "Well, as long as you try. Tho, if it happens again..you'll no longer be allowed near my family." Mom stated firmly. Yugo shot his eyes up towards the woman. "You're acting pretty high and mighty." he growled and slowly rose to his feet. Mom didn't back down tho. She had been doing some reading on wolves. "I'm the alpha of this house. YOU.." she paused and pressed her index finger firmly into Yugo's chest. "Are a stranger on my territory. If you want to stay, you'll follow MY rules and thats final."

Yugo's golden eyes shot wide open! He walked right up to Mom growling. Mom stood firm tho. She stared up into Yugo's eyes returning his glare. After a few minutes of heated silence, Yugo sucked his teeth and rolled his eyes. "Whatever..I dont have time to argue with a human.." he mumbled while shifting his eyes away from Mom. The woman smiled brightly. "Well in that case, you're welcome to stay. Oh..I still cant have you come inside tho. Dad would have a heart attack.."

"M-mom?" She blinked and followed her outside. She'd have to explain to Yugo later. She watched as her mother bowed, thanking Yugo, but then asked him to never kill again, only to have him decline without flinching. "Hold on mom" She said and walked up to Yugo. Her soft hues settling on him as she knelt down so she looked up at him. "Yugo...my mom...is right...in this time you get in trouble for killing...and if you kill the ones who try to bring you in...more will come...You cant kill humans...please? I know I owe you so much as it is...but please...dont kill any more humans...?" She pleaded softly. She didnt sound demanding at all, she was simply asking him...to reconsider his answer.

Mom closed her eyes tight. She leaned back against the kitchen table. She only understood the things Grandpa had told her a degree. End of the world or not, she had her children's safety to consider. Slowly, mom's eyes opened. She left the kitchen and without a word to Ayane, walked out towards the front where Yugo was still eating. She glared down at him and Yugo glared right back..with his sticky fingers. Suddenly, Mom bowed her head. "Thank you for protecting Ayane. You have my undying gratitude. Ayane..she means the world to me." Mom stated. Yugo gazed lazily up at the woman. "Yea well..." he muttered as Mom stood up straight. "However, I can not over look the fact that you killed someone. This is not your time. We have laws and murder goes against them. Can you promise me that you'll never kill again?" Mom asked with a raise brow. "No." Yugo answered, his golden hues narrowing as he stared up into Mom's eyes.

"Mom we cant, the cops arent going to believe he's a demon." She said. She looked down and slowly nodded. "I...wasnt looking when it happened. I had my eyes shut when the guy came at me...when nothing happened...I looked and Yugo was standing in front of me...there...was blood on his claws...he was about to go after the other boys...but...I begged him to take me away...so...he scooped me up and took me to the woods...mom...he saved me...he even stayed up all night to watch over because I was still shaken...He's...not a bad guy...he just needs time to adjust...to learn" She said looking at her mom

Mom listened closely. She bit down on the corner of her lip after hearing the whole story. "I still think we should call the cops.." Mom muttered, but then paused and looked up at Ayane blinking. "What? Are you saying..that he killed the boy?" Mom asked as terror filled her eyes. She was torn. She was thankful for Yugo saving her daughter...but if he had killed the boy...she definitely didn't want Ayane hanging around Yugo. No, she'd forbid it. The boy was dangerous. "Ayane tell me the truth. Did he kill the boy who attacked you?" Mom asked, now a little calmer about the whole thing
