Chasing Time and Spells(mature)

Yugo's eyes slowly shifted. He stared at her as she insulted herself. She was stupid, yes...but disposable? That was a bit much. "H-Hey.." Yugo whispered as he crawled up to her. "L-Look..maybe I went overboard yea? I mean...you're not use to dealing with threats like me." he replied softly and reached forward to tilt her chin up to him. His eyes had softened. The sadness in her blue hues had melted away his anger. "Whats important is that you learn from your mistakes. And...well...I suppose...I should...maybe...control...you know... little...I guess..."

Ayane looked down as he more or less verbally abused her. Her hues softened, and saddened. "Okay I get it, I'm stupid, dumb, Stupid, insufficient...disposable..." She muttered, her fingers running through her hair. She stared at the ground, not even looking at him as she started rambling off insults about herself. She brought her legs up against her chest in a fetal position

"Then you're a fool...but then we both already knew that." Yugo grunted and crossed his arms stubbornly over his chest. "I'll let you in on a little secret. The Li family consist of a very long line of spirit energy users. Monks, priests, sorcerers, wizards...the Li family has them all. That brat knew exactly what he was doing. He played you. He lured you in like a fat fish and got you to drop your guard. He took out my sister's pendent because he knew that if could take me out, he'd be able to get what he wanted from you. He knew that you wouldn't come prepared." Yugo snorted. His eyes shifted away from her. Something told him that he was wasting his breath. "You'll be seeing that brat again very soon. When you do...well...for your sake lets hope that I'm not feeling particularly docile.."

"Of course I do..." She said defensively while looking at him. She listened as he described the story for her. She understood right away he was describing what had happened to him. As he leaned closer her blue hues narrowed slightly in defense. Her hues remained locked on him as he sighed and spread the furn against the burnt pile. She winced, shying away from his hand and lightly hissed. "...That doesnt change my oppinion..." She said and looked down. She rubbed the side of her head slowly

Yugo's eyes shot up like daggers. He stared hard into Ayane's. What did she know? "Ok.." Yugo mumbled while closing his eyes for a moment. "Tell me, do you love your brother?" he asked. "Lets say that it was just you and him. You had no parents, no aunts, and no uncles. You were the only one who could provide for him. Because of that, you became more of a parent then a sibling. Now, lets say that you saw your little brother, the one YOU had raised since you, yourself, was a child killed. No..wait, slaughtered would be more appropriate. You saw his body ripped apart and you were helpless to do anything about it. Now, lets say that years after his death, you discovered some twerp holding a necklace that your little brother wore with pride. He wore it whenever he could and rarely took it off. That necklace was a gift from your late mother, the only physical item linking her memory to yours." Yugo stated with a long growl. Slowly, he leaned forward till their noses practically touched. There was nothing romantic about their closeness tho. No, Yugo was furious.

"Now, lets say that some naive, peace loving-violence is wrong, brat tried to get in your way as you tried to figure out why the twerp had your little brother's necklace. How would you feel hm? How would you feel knowing that your little brother's memento was being defiled by the hands of some low life brat?" Yugo hissed. His words were like venom as they flowed from his lips. Sighing, he took the burnt remains of the roots and bark, and spread them across the leaves of the fern. He then leaned forward again and pressed the leaves against her forehead. Her head would burn, but only for a few seconds. "I'll make this crystal clear." Yugo stated and sat back, his eyes the coldest that they had ever been. "Do not meddle in my affairs. The fact that I was able to push you means that the spell protecting you is not perfect. This is your only warning."

Ayane tried to not focus on her head as he carried her. She blinked as he turned away from the temple and went deep into the woods, back to the hot springs where they had been the other night. "Kay..." She said and very gentle rubbed her temple. When he came back she watched him brew up his concauction and blinked. "W-wait...burn?" She asked, not liking the sound of that, her head was already hurting... When he blamed her for not believing him she looked down. "Even so...you should at least learn to control you temper..." She said quietly while her fingers ran along the slightly healed gash

"I know...I'm sorry too." Yugo whispered. He hadn't meant to push her, but her had gotten in the way. Tho, that was probably a horrible excuse. As he carried her back towards the temple, Yugo stopped. He couldn't take her home. Her family would blame him even tho her pain was partly his fault. Sighing, Yugo carried Ayane over towards the hot springs they used the night before. He sat her down gently against the trunk of a tall weeping willow. "Stay put." he ordered before turning around and vanishing into the woods. When he came back a few minutes later, he had some ferns, a roots, and scarps of bark in his hand. He took a knee in front of Ayane and made a small fire. "I'm going to burn the roots and bark together and spread the charred remains on the fern leaves. Call it..a makeshift bandage. Its gonna burn, but it will help with the pain and healing." He whispered softly. His golden eyes slowly shifted up from the flames and towards her face. "You know...none of this would have happened if you had listened to me..."

Aya winced as he yelled. She didnt even have the strength to argue back. Her hues looked at him. She felt bad enough for not believing him about Syaoran, she wished he didnt have to bring her down more. "I'm...sorry..." She said. She felt so tired. She closed her eyes as his tongue ran over her head wound. Ayane slowly blinked, her head resting against Yugo's shoulder. "...It hurts..." She whimpered lightly and nuzzled her face into his neck

"Fucking moron!" Yugo spat right in her face. "I'm a demon, do you have any idea how long I've lived? A few used minutes of my life energy means nothing. God! I swear there's no way you could be related to Kasumi. There must be a mistake." Yugo growled as his arms came to wrap around her. There wasn't much he could do for her. They'd have to wait for her spirit energy to recover which could take a few days...or a few weeks. Sighing, Yugo pulled her close. He closed his eyes and gently ran his warm tongue over the gash on her forehead. His powers would be able to seal most of it, but she'd still need a bandage. Once he was done, he rose to feet while carrying her gently in his arms. Syaoran could return at any moment. Right now, the safest place for Ayane was back at the temple..

Ayane felt her entire body getting weak. But it was working, the wound on his shoulder was healing. By the time he opened his eyes she was a little dizzy. She swayed lightly before leaning against him, her head on his shoulder. "I...panicked...I...didnt want...you to die" She said. She was exhausted, not to mention her head was still throbbing.

The booked sucked in her spiritual energy like a sponge. Writing a spell was no easy task and required allot of energy. The ancient text began to glow bright white. The light from the writing poured over Yugo's body causing him to stir. Slowly, the hole in his shoulder repaired itself. However, the book was still sucking in Ayane's spirit energy, and at a rapid rate.

When Yugo's golden hues opened, the first thing he saw was her face. He sat up some. His body ached, but at least the hole in his shoulder was gone. He ran his claws up along his shirt to confirm it had been healed. "W-What did you?" He mumbled. Then, he saw the book. His golden eyes flashed wide open. "Idiot!" he yelled and quickly shut the book

Ayane winced as he spoke, god even though he was talking quietly, it made her head ache. "I know, I'm sorry..." She growled, not in the mood for a lecture. As he slid down to sit next to her she winced turning her head to look at him has he talked about summoning the book. She pulled her hand away from him, she wasnt going to sacrifice his life energy to summon the book. As he blaced out, She held her throbbing head, focusing on the book and calling it forth. The first fewtimes fails but with enough frustration to fuel her body the book finally appearing in her lap. She slid her hand along it, it felt so warm. She closed her eyes, she felt her strength coming back more or less but it wasnt healing the gash in her head.

Her blue hues shot open and she looked at Yugo, her strength at 100% again. Yugo on the other hand...he was losing a lot of blood. She flipped the pages of the book open, of course they were still empty but she was driven. She carefully straddled him, on hand pressed against the pages of the book while the other hovered before his wounded shoulder. She wasnt going to let him die, she owed him to much...that and she wanted to yell at him for hurting her. Her head throbbed as she closed her eyes and tried clearing her mind. Ancient words came to her lips she chanted them, the text recording on the book pages as she spoke a spell of healing, even she wasnt really sure what she was doing or how she was coming up with the spell itself...

"Damnit..." Yugo muttered. His own vision was getting hazy. Syaoran's attack had completely drained what little power he had. Yugo had been forced to tap into his life energy just to stand. He stared at the gash on her forehead. At the moment, he was in no position to heal her. "I told you this would happen.." Yugo growled as he stumbled right into the wall beside Ayane. He slowly slid down the cool surface till he was sitting on his butt. Slowly, he looked over at ayane. He could hardly make out her facial features. "The book.." he mumbled as his eyes began to close. "The book has enough spiritual energy to heal you...but...you'll never be able to summon it in your state." Yugo whispered softly. He was starting to pass out. His body felt numb. "Touch my hand. Use...my life energy to summon the book to heal you..after..do something..your...uselessness....."

Ayane slid to the ground. she grabbed her head. it felt all fuzzy. Like she couldnt think straight. It didnt help that she had hit her head pretty hard from when Yugo pushed her. She looked up just as the boy was leaving. Her fingers poked into a gash making her wince and pull her hands away, a few covered in blood from where she had touched the gash. She blinked when Yugo called her. For the time, her memory seemed fine. "My head...' she whimpered lightly

"Relax." Syaoran whispered. He closed his eyes and began to chant. Suddenly, a burst of demonic energy erupted right behind him. He looked back, seeing that Yugo was on his feet! He lunged forward opening his jaws to take a huge chunk out of Syaoran's shoulder. The young monk released Ayane and dashed to the left just in time to avoid Yugo's attack. He jumped again, black flipping to put more distance between him and Yugo. "So..this is Yugo Ogami huh? I'm surprised. I had been told that your powers hadn't returned...yet here you are still standing after taking one of my attacks directly" Syaoran sighed. Yugo let out a blood thirty roar. His eyes turned blood. The X shape scar over his face became jagged as heat radiated from his body. "Hmmm..what to do now? Perhaps a retreat is in order?" Syaoran sighed deeply. He jumped up, caught the end of a ladder on a near by building and pulled himself up.

Yugo went on all fours. He flaming burned a hole clean through his shorts. "What makes you think you'll escape with your life?" He hissed. Syaoran's eyes narrowed. "You know...instead of chasing me...perhaps your time would be better spent looking after Ayane. She's looking rather pale." he smiled and pointed towards the girl. "The spell I was going use taps into the subconscious and seizes control. I wasn't able to finish tho so the draw back might be memory loss. You should make sure she's ok." Syaoran stated until he manged to reach the top of the roof. Yugo stood up straight. His eyes returned to normal and the aura around his body vanished. His right hand came up to hold of his shoulder. The word pain wasn't strong enough. He looked over at Ayane and slowly made his way over to her. "ayane, can you hear me??"

Ayane yelped as he shoved her, her head hit the wall and she winced. She became dizzy...out of it. She heard thunder...then she suddenly felt herself being pinned. Flashes from last night flashed through her mind. Being pinned...touched. She closed her eyes tightly and whimpered, her entire body began to tremble. "It was all still too fresh...it was too soon to have to be forced to face something so similar. "L-let go..." She whimpered

"Shut up! There's only one thing a brat like this understands." Yugo growled and shoved Ayane out the way. He grabbed Syaoran by his shirt and pinned him up against the wall again. Unfortunately, Yugo had been so enraged that he failed to notice that Syaoran had been chanting. Suddenly, Syaoran raised his head. Something within his eyes had changed. "Forces of nature hear my plea. I, Li Syaoran command it. Release the light, lighting!" Syaoran yelled and pressed his index finger into Yugo's shoulder. Suddenly, an eye blinding streak of lightning tore right through Yugo's right shoulder. The boom alone was enough the rupture the ear drums of normal people. Yugo staggered back. There was a hole about the size of a baseball in his right shoulder. "F-Fuck.." he hissed just as his body fell flat to the ground. Syaoran sighed. "Worthless monster." he growled. Suddenly, he turned on Ayane. He grabbed her and pinned her up against the wall behind him. "I tried. I really did. I wanted to give you the choice of walking away but now you leave me now choice.." he frowned and pressed his index and middle finger against her forehead. "Just be still. Your pain will be minimal..."

Aya blinked and looked at Yugo, following behind them down. When she got to the ally he was screaming at Syaoran. "Yugo, stop" She said and moved between them. She looked at Yugo. "Calm down" She pleaded softly. "Syaoran...please...why do you have something so precious to him..." She asked while keeping her eyes locked with Yugo's

"Get the fuck off me!!" Yugo snapped and tore his hand away from her. He rubbed his face. Oh, he was pissed now. "I dont know what you did...but do it again...and you'll pay." Yugo growled darkly. He followed Syaoran out of the cafe, a few blocks down, and into a closed off alleyway. Syaoran came to a stop, his back facing Yugo. "Ok you little brat." Yugo hissed while flexing his claws. He walked right up to Syaoran, grabbed him, and pinned his back against the wall. "That pendent. That pendent belonged to my sister! It was a gift from our mother just before she did. My sister..she wore it proudly. It was the only thing we had to remember her by!!!" Yugo screamed. As he continued to roar, Syaoran remained dead silent. His hair hung down over his eyes...

Ayane's eyes went wide seeing Yugo suddenly do a face plant to the ground. She leaned down, helping him up when Syaoran urged them to go. "Are you okay?" She asked, her fingers carressing his face. She didnt now what had happened. "He's right, we have to go" she said and grabbed his hand running out of the cafe. She knew he wasnt going to be happy for trying to interfere...but still

Yugo wasn't sure what was happening, but a bright purple light consumed his body. Suddenly, his entire face was pulled forward and slammed into the broken table! Syaoran gasped for air. He looked up at Ayane while rubbing his neck. Yugo's claws had dug in pretty deep. "So, this is the demon you trust?" he asked and slowly rose to his feet. His eyes shifted towards the windows. He could hear sirens blazing. "Lets go. Bring your wolf too." he frowned and headed for the exit.

Aya blinked as he pulled out the pendent. She gasped as she felt a push as Yugo dove over the table and grabbed Syaoran. "Yugo stop!...Let go!....SIT!!!!" She yelled in pure anger. Back at the house in the guest room the book flipped open, a spell instantly recorded and apearing within the pages of the book.

Syaoran hung his head in defeat. He had hoped to handle things...civilly. "I understand..and forgive me if I've insulted your pride." Syaoran whispered as he looked up. "But this situation is beyond your control. The fact that you couldn't sense that demon behind you is proof enough." he whispered and reached into his left coat pocket. He pulled out a silver pendent. The necklace was beautiful. Carved on the front of the pendent was a blooming lily. Suddenly, Yugo rushed across his table. He grabbed Syaoran by his shirt, lifted him up, and slammed his head back onto the table. He slammed over, over, over, over, and over until the table broke. His golden eyes were filled with rage. He grabbed Syaoran by his neck and slowly started to squeeze. "Fucking human shit!" he spat. Syaoran gripped his hands. "Perhaps...we should...discuss this..outside?" he gasped. Blood was streaming down the back and side of his head. People inside the cafe were screaming. A few had already called the police.

Ayane listened but he was right, she didnt like what he had to say. "The book has chosen me as it's master. "Yes, the Zu was horrible...and Yugo has told be how others can be even more powerful. But it's my responsibility to fix what I've done, Besides, there is one demon, I dont plan on sealing away again, If I gave you the book now, you would probably lock him away for eternity" She said. "The ring belongs to my family, we asked your's to merely watch over it. And now I'm asking for you to return it. I will fix the problems I've made, I'm not going to pass my problems off onto someone else" She said firmly

Syaoran rubbed the back of his head. The conversation wasn't going well and he had a feeling that she wasn't going to like what he'd say next. "Listen...I'm suppose to give you an offer." he replied softly. "Now, I really dont care all that much about your relationship with the demon. Ok? I'm just hear doing my job just like you. My family wants to offer you the chance to walk away. We will take full responsibility and capture all the demons and spells you've unleashed. We've already captured 100% of the demons that appeared in Hong Kong, Beijing, and other cities in China. So, heres the deal. You hand over ownership of the book to me and in return, you'll get to live a normal life." Syaoran explained. "I envy the chance." he whispered. "You can focus on school, friends...everything normal. I dont think Kasumi-sama would have wished for such a difficult task to fall on your shoulders. You think those Zu were bad...they demons will get allot worse." Syaoran stated and sat back a little. "This is your chance. My family will take care of everything. We'll seal all of the demons and the spells. Everything will be taken care of."
