You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine was running a hand through her hair as she walked toward the kitchen. She looked in the fridge and grabbed her wrapped plate and put it in the microwave for a minute before sitting at the table to eat. Lobo sat next to Shen and put his head on the man's lap while he held Ceres. Kathrine was amazed how against babies someone could be, even she didnt have that reaction when she was told that Ceres was hers.

Shen nodded and stretched his arms out. "Hey stinky." Shen chuckled while placing a kiss on Ceres' cheek. "Not so fussy now are you?" he smiled and followed Kate out. Himiko, who was still on the couch, watched as the two came out from the room. She rolled her eyes and turned back around. Shen brought Ceres into the living room and sat down next to Himiko. He knew that she hated kids, but did want her to be on good terms with his daughter. "Wanna hold her?" he asked. Himiko raised her brow. She stared down at the baby. "Why does she smell like powder?" she asked. Shen blinked. "Uh...well she just had her diaper changed." he stated. "Oh hell no.." Himiko frowned while scooting away. "I dont do diapers." she stated. Shen let out an exhausted sigh. He looked down at Ceres and gave her belly a gentle poke. "Someone's afraid of you. Isn't that crazy?"

"Hm hmm" She yawned again and rubbed her eyes. She took Ceres's diaper of and started to wipe her clean. She lifted the little girls lips as she slid the clean diaper under her and used the baby powder before finishing the diaper. She rolled up the dirty one and picked Ceres up. "Ohh..that sounds good" she said with a smile. "Could you take her while I go heat it up?" She asked looking up at him. Unlike Himiko she was willing to get her own food. Lobo licked Shen's arm as the man pet his ear, his tail wagging happily

"Are you sure?" Shen asked while stepping into the room. His eyes shifted over towards Ceres. She looked eager to get the diaper off. "Not exactly patient is she?" Shen smiled. He wondered if she'd inherit his father's temper. Shen and his mother were more or less calm people. His father was too, but when pressed his temper quickly spiraled out of control. "Oh, there's dinner waiting for you whenever you're ready to eat." Shen added. As Lobo nudged his leg, Shen gazed down at the wolf. He was still dead set against keeping a wild animal as if it were a pet, but...he couldn't exactly get rid of the animal either. Sighing, Shen reached down to rubbed one of Lobo's ears.

Kathrine was pulling out a clean diaper from the baby bag when Shen walked in. "Hm...no I got it...its not a big deal" She said and lightly yawned again. Ceres was fussy, kicking her tiny legs. Lobo was standing on the floor his head near Kate's lap but his eyes focused on little Ceres. The wolf looked at Shen his tail wagging again as he walked up to the man and nudged his large head against Shen's leg.

Shen and Himiko were sitting on the couch in the living room. When Ceres began to cry, Shen's head turned towards the back room. "Let Kate get it." Himiko groaned. She had her head resting comfortably on Shen's lap. "It?" Shen frowned and stood up causing Himiko to nearly fall off the couch. "My daughter is not an 'it.' " Shen frowned. Himiko pressed her palm against her face. "You know I didn't mean it like that.." she stated while looking up at him. Shen shook his head. He walked back towards Kate's room and opened the door to find her getting ready to change Ceres. "Do you want me to do that? You can go back to sleep if you like."

Jacob set his plate down and sat back continuing to sip on his beer while listening to them talk. From his point of view Shen was now where Kate had been. That he had betrayed her to the point that just being near him hurt...but it seemed Shen wasnt taking this into account as he now looked at Kate with nothing but rage...

A couple hours passed and Ceres started to cry in the other room. Lobo started a low how which made Ceres stop for a moment until Lobo stopped and She'd start crying again. Kathrine sat up rubbing her eyes and ran a hand through her hair as she scooted over to the side of the bed and got up. "Hn...baby girl...what's wrong?" She asked as she picked Ceres up. "Ah someone needs a diaper change" She yawned

"Soooo..." Himiko began as silence began to overtake the table. Shen hadn't said a word. He simply sat while bearing touching his food. Himiko was already half way done. "I think you'll like California. I found somewhere with plenty of space for a growing girl. She needs what...a single room right? Of course you and I will have the master bed room. There's also a pretty large office space." Himiko smiled. She leaned into Shen and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "When we get there, we should test the bed for...durability." She grinned. She looked up catching the seductive gleam within her eyes. "That sounds fine." Shen whispered, tho his mind was a million miles elsewhere.

Jacob remained outside sipping his beer and eating his burger. What they didnt know what the windows around the cabin were all cracked open, so he was hearing what all they were saying, though he looked as if he were just looking out toward the lake while eating, minding his own business

Shen remained silent. After fixing Himiko's plate he moved over towards the fridge. "Would you like a beer?" he asked. Himiko turned towards the kitchen frowning. "Shen you know drinking those make you fat. Water please." She stated. "Oh...right..." Shen blinked as he pulled out one bottle of water for Himiko and a beer for him. Himiko turned back around. She placed her elbows on the table as she ran her hands through her shoulder length blonde hair. "So...how long will we be here?" she asked. Shen grabbed their plates. He placed Himiko's in front of her along with her water bottle. He then took a seat next to her and released a long sigh. "Just give Kate a few days." he whispered. "You're doing allot for her. I expected you to grab Ceres and leave." Himiko stated while staring down at her burger. "We talked about this." Shen muttered. "No, you talked. Tho, I did agree. Poor little Kate lost her memory so that changes things. I'm curious tho..does that fact erase the scars she inflicted on you?" Himiko asked, tho she already knew that answer. "N-No..." Shen replied softly. Himiko nodded. She could see the confusion and pain that covered Shen's face and seemed to take pride in drawing it out.

Jacob was making up a plate to put away for Kate for later when Shen came into the Kitchen. Then while Shen worked on fixing Himiko's plate he started to work on him. "Well I'll be outside if either of you need anything" Jacob said. He knew full well Shen didnt like him and he didnt want to be in an uncomfortable silence while he ate. He walked outside with a beer in hand and sat on a bench on the deck

Shen's brown eyes darted over towards the door. He had almost forgotten about Jacob and wasn't looking forward to having dinner with just him and Himiko. Sighing, Shen tore himself away from his daughter's crib. He walked out, but left the door slightly cracked open. When he got to the kitchen, Himiko was sitting at the table waiting. "I dont like it here. I'm itching all over..." She complained. "I'm sorry..." Shen whispered. He knew that he was the reason why she was there. "Fix me a plate?" Himiko pouted while batting her big blue eyes up at him. Shen smiled slightly and nodded. "Just make sure you keep it down. Ceres and Kate are sleeping." Shen stated as he walked towards the stove for Himiko's burger. Himiko's eyes narrowed. God, it was always about Ceres and Kate! Himiko needed to act if she was going to get Shen to move to Cali with her.

Lobo watched Shen walk in, his tail started to lightly wag against the bed. Kathrine nuzzled into the wolf's fur when Shen placed the cover over her, letting out a comfortable sigh. Ceres was passed out. Her belly was full and the child was just as tired as Kate. "Hey you guys--" Jacob hushed his voice right away. 'Knocked out?" He asked as he walked over and peeked at Ceres. "I'll wrap up a plate for Kate for when she wakes up" He said and headed back toward the door

Shen moved over towards the bed. It was clear that Kate was sleeping and probably wouldn't be up for a while. Shen reached for her blanket and pulled it up over Kate's body. He'd let her sleep for a little while. As he turned, his eyes shifted down upon his daughter. She looked so peaceful. He had to hand it to Kate. Ceres was only a few days old, but Kate seemed to have developed a knack for putting the baby girl to sleep. Shen leaned forward against the crib. The softest of smiles formed on his lips as he watched Ceres sleep. He knew what he had to do. Her happiness had to come before everything else.

Kathrine didnt reply, inside the room she had put Ceres in the small crib that had been set up in her room and she was on the bed her arms wrapped around Lobo as she slept soundly. Lobo lifted his head hearing the tap at the door but didnt make a sound. Kathrine was exhausted, even from that little bit of moving around since that morning. Ceres was sound asleep in her crib

A few hours later, Shen had dinner ready. IT was nothing fancy, just a few burgers. Himiko came out from her room and sat down at the table. Shen stared at her, hard. "Himiko...how much purfume around you wearing??" he asked while covering his nose. "Just because I'm roughing it doesn't mean I have to smell like it." Himiko countered. Shen shook his head. Why even bother? Sighing, Shen walked down towards Kate's room and gave the door a tap. "Food is ready. Do you need me to carry Ceres?"

"Yeah, sure i'm totally going to believe the word of some women who can't even remember her boyfriends, daughters name" She retorted. Lobo stopped growling once Himiko got the message and walked away. Kathrine didnt dwell to much on the information. If Shen wanted to go to Cali with the wench he could, but he'd have to take Ceres from her cold dead hands if he wanted her baby and leave her behind

"I'm not baiting. No...I'm actually saving you. I can imagine how shocked you'd be to find out that he intends to take your baby away. Soooo I thought I'd give you a heads up is all. You can do whatever you want with the information. By all means, ignore me if you wish." Himiko shrugged. However, when Lobo began to growl she started backing up a little. "A-Anyway, you should enjoy these final days. Soon I'll be little Jeers' mother." Himiko smiled as she walked away. Some mother, the girl couldn't even remember Ceres' name.

"Oh yeah, like I was saying, I have steaks and burgers we can through on the grill. Kate liked the salmon too" he said following Shen into the kitchen to help out even if it was to tell him where stuff was. Kathrine glanced up at Himiko then back to down to Ceres when the women started to talk. "You know....trying to scare me into being the bad guy wont work...that fact that your trying to get a rise out of me just proves your the one who is scared" She said and shifted her violet hues up to Himiko. Just because she was lost in the world right now and confused did not mean she was a push over. She was used to having to deal with bitches like Liz back from school. "It's Shen's business who he dates....and I have no right to get in the way, but I do find it amusing that you feel the need to rub it in my face and try to bait me with harsh words" She said, her voice getting dark, just like when she used to tell of lizzy. Lobo lifted his head and lightly began to growl, his gold hues locked on Himiko

Shen nodded. "Then I suppose I'll start dinner." he stated as he walked towards the kitchen. He'd find everything on his own. Himiko mumbled a few curses. She found herself walked back down the hall and standing in the doorway to Kate's room. There Kate was...playing the role of the perfect mother. "You know...Shen is only doing all of this because for whatever reason...he thinks he still owes you." Himiko stated as she leaned against the door frame. "But he owes you nothing, no...less than nothing. I hope you know that he and I will be moving to california. You can do whatever you want." she stated and then paused. Her sea blue eyes shifted down to Ceres just as a cruel smile began spread across her lips. "We'll be the perfect family. Just the three of us." Himiko grinned.

"Ehh...well this isnt really camping...I mean I do have some tents in the shed around back to really rough it" Jacob said. Ceres was beginning to fuss wanting her milk. Kathrine slowly stood up. "Which ones my room?" she asked Jake "The door at the end" he replied. "I'm going to go feed her before she gets too fussy" She said and walked down the hall, Lobo waled behind her, following her to the room. Kathrine found another lazy chair in her room, she must have liked them while pregnant. She sat down after closing the door and unbuttoned her shirt allowing Ceres to drink. Lobo laid down at Kathrine's feet

"W-Why are you all laughing?! THIS is not funny!" Himiko hissed. "I'm not laughing..." Shen stated, which was true. He hadn't even cracked a smile, tho that was mainly due to the fact that Himiko was starting to get on his nerves. "Ok enough." Shen sighed. He walked towards the door and placed the toad down into the bushes outside. When he came back, he found Himiko shaking. "First rule, no more screaming." Shen ordered. "Bu-" Himiko argued. "No buts." Shen frowned. "You're simply going to have to adjust. We wont be here for too long anyway." he explained. Himiko rubbed her eyes. She sent both Kate and Jacob a hate filled glare. "This is why I hate camping.."

"We can make some steak or burgers on the---" Jake was cut off by the loud scream. Lobo swiftly got up and ran down the hall to investigate. By the time got to the room the wolf was laying in front of the toad yipping and baring lightly at it, his tail wagging. He sat up when Shen came in and looked bac down at the toad with his tongue sticking out as if silently laughing as well. When Shen came out with the toad Kathrine started to laugh while holding Ceres close. "Huh...little guy must have snuck in as I was leaving this morning" Jake said rubbing the back of his head

Shen was standing by a window, his eyes locked onto the outdoors. He held Ceres up so she could see all the birds flying around. A soft smile formed on his lips as he gazed down at his baby girl. That smile faded tho when heard Jacob and Kate began to talk. Seven months...for seven months the two of them had been right here. Little by little, Shen's rage was starting to return. He took in a deep breath tho. Yelling at Kate would do him little good. Sighing, Shen turned around and walked back into the living room. "What should we do for dinner?" He asked, his eyes shifting between Kate and Jacob. Suddenly, an ear piercing scream filled the cabin!! "SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!! Himiko shrieked. Shen spun around. Himiko came flying out from down the hall, jumped over Kate's lazy chair, and moved behind Shen's back. "IN THERE!!!" She screamed out. "You sound like you've been chased by a man holding a cleaver...." Shen sighed. "NOT FUNNY!!" Himiko hissed. "Fine fine..." Shen sighed and placed Ceres into Kate's arms. "Show me what you saw." Shen frowned. Himiko stayed behind them tho. Shen sighed deeply. Two seconds later, he came from inside the room and stretched his hand out. Sitting in the middle of his palm was a small toad...

Kathrine chuckled and rubbed Lobo's belly with her foot. "It's going to be hard convincing him to let me keep you" She said with a sigh. She couldnt help but chuckle when Himiko complained about being out of spray and her fear of bugs. She leaned back and looked outside. "How do you like it?" Jake asked as he walked in. "I love it!" She said happily. "Yeah this is where we've been staying for the last 7 months. You were always out by the lake with a line in the water" He chuckled
