You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine lightly patted Ceres' back while holding the baby. She looked up at Shen as he sat, her hues widened as she stared at him in shock. "T-two years?...A-are you serious?" She asked, shifting Ceres into one arm and ran her free hand through her hair shakily. She looked down at Ceres as he told her the baby was their child, her hues watered a little. She smiled. "Shes....she's mine?" She asked and looked back up at Shen as her smile faded as she came to a realization. "But....we arent...together are we...." She asked and looked down at Ceres again, carefully and softly brushing the back of her hand against the babys cheek.

She remained silent for a moment. "I....I did something didnt I....or...said something..." She said, her bangs covering her eyes. "I'm....I'm sorry Shen...whatever I did....I'm sorry...." She said and nuzzled her nose down against Ceres. The baby cooed softly. Kathrine looked up forcing smile as a tear slid down her cheek. "Heh...knowing me...I was being stubborn...right? I screwed up" She said and wiped her eyes. "Sorry....this...this sucks....I... cant believe I had you....and let you slip away" She said while drying her tears

Shen nodded. Himiko crossed her arms over her chest while she glared daggers at Shen. "Why should I have to go just so you can talk to your old flame? Anything she has to say she should be able to say it to me." Himiko hissed. Shen closed his eyes. This was exactly why he didn't want Himiko to come along. "Please...just ten minutes?" he asked. Himiko took in a sharp breath. Her bright blue eyes shifted over to Kate. "Ten only and then we're leaving." She frowned while swiftly walking towards the door. Once Himiko left, Shen turned his attention back to Kate. His eyes quickly widened. His jaw tensed slightly So...Kate's memory went back further than what he thought. In her mind, she loved him despite being rejected. Apparently she also remembered how well Mei had dressed her up too.

"Kate...I dont know what to do with this." Shen whispered. Just a few months ago, Shen would have jumped on this golden chance. However, things had changed...he had changed. He wasn't sure if Kate memory loss was a blessing or a curse of some sort. Sighing, Shen moved to sit down beside Kate on the bed. His brown eyes gazed down upon the peaceful face of his baby girl. "Katherine...listen carefully." Shen replied softly. "Allot has...happened between us. I wont go into full detail..but you're missing nearly two years worth of memory. This...This girl is yours. You gave birth to her here. Unfortunately, I was not here for it...which I hate." Shen stated. That was another reason for his attitude towards Kate. She had denied him the right to witness the birth of his first child. He had taken away something precious...and he despised her for it even if she didn't remember. "So no, you didn't screw up the program. You got in. You live in NY and are doing well. You've made a few friends too."

Even as Shen took her back into his arms Ceres continued to cry. As Shen spoke up Kathrine looked at him with widened hues. Of course she trusted him....he was the only person in the world she did trust with everything that happened to her...all that he was doing to help her, even putting his job on the line for her. "Wha--?" Kathrine blinked and looked from Jake to Himiko and back to Shen. "Hey doc....can....i talk to you alone for a second?" She asked. When Jacob and Himiko finally walked out Kathrine let out a long shaky sigh. "Shen....wh-what going on? the last thing I remember is falling asleep at your place the other night...you know when you parents came by, your mom was making sure you were going to go on the blind date? She took me out shopping while you and you dad went at it...whats going on?" Kathrine asked confused. At that point in their relationship Shen had slowly began to respond to her feelings for him. She had already confessed to him, they had slept with one another three times already. Also if Shen could recall Kathrine had warned him she'd be acting cold toward him in front of others which explained her little display while the others were in the room.

She held her hands out, motioning him to hand her the baby. She slowly took Ceres into her arms, "Hush hush...your alright" Kathrine said, and Ceres sniffled before she finally quit crying. Kathrine blinked, surprised how quickly Ceres stopped crying for her when she didnt even know her. Kathrine looked up at Shen confused. "D-Did I screw up on the program? the one to go to new york to become a doctor?" She asked. She had all her memories up until she had been raped by the gym teacher williams...the man who had set everything in motion for her to be taken to new york, and that led Shen to leave her for her own good. To her she hadnt been raped, she never broke down, her uncle didnt come looking for her she thought they still had two weeks to her exams...this was truely...literally the fresh start Shen had wanted 7 months ago. She was still at the stage where she had just fallen in love with him... where the only drama she knew of was that of her home life and the fact that there was an 8 year difference between them in age...and the fact that he was a teacher and she a student...and there was little to no chance...she would ever regain her memories ever again.

Shen stared down at Kate. He stood completely dumbfounded. He couldn't recall her every thanking him...so why was she doing it now? Were these her honest feelings? He honestly had no idea how to respond to her. "You're...welcome." he finally whispered after a few minutes. As Ceres began to cry, Shen took his daughter back into his arms. "Shhh Shhh." he whispered as he rocked the baby gently in his arms. "Well...seems like the kid is going to need some time to get use to me." Himiko smiled, tho only slightly. Shen looked up, his eyes lingered on Kate as he began to walk towards the door. Then, it killed in. Shen's god damn guilty consequence. "Do I really owe her anything?" he thought to himself as he stood in the doorway. Himiko blinked twice and tapped Shen on the shoulder. "So...are we going or what?" she asked. Shen let out a deep, deep sigh. He turned around, his eyes on Kate once more. "Katherine, there is no need to return to the house you called home. IF you dont trust anyone, trust me when I say that there's nothing there for you." Shen stated firmly. His gaze shifted down to his daughter. She needed a mother...a real mother. "As soon as you're fit to travel I'm going to arrange for you to come to New York. You dont like to depend on people? Yes, I know this well. I will need someone to help me take care of Ceres while I'm not home. You'll be that person and you'll earn money for it." Shen stated firmly, as in there was no choice in the matter.

"Shen what the hell?!" Himiko screamed. Shen's eyes narrowed. "Lower your voice." he frowned while looking back down at Cere's. "Why do we need some broken clock to help you? IF you really want someone to take care-" Himiko began, tho she was quickly caught off by shen. "Dont even finish that sentence. You can barely take out the trash. How are you suppose to care for a baby?" he asked. Himiko's entire face lit up. She was pissed, big time. Shen sighed and turned back around. He'd deal with Himiko later. "So, thats final than?" he asked, his gaze on Katherine and for a moment Jacob. He had known about the man's feelings for some time, but had ignored them. Shen knew there was no way that such strong feelings of love and compassion could come from a 'brotherly' figure. No, the man had to love Kate on some level. It would also explain why he had left without saying a word to those closest to him.

"Yeah...thanks a lot" Jake said and looked at Kathrine. "Wait, doc" Kate said and looked off to the side. "I....I never thanked you....for that day...." She said and looked up at Shen with an honest smile. "Thanks for...saving me" She said. "If everything you guys are saying is true...and I dont get to see you again....I wanted to say thanks..." She said. "Your the first person who cared enough to stop it" She said, by it she meant the abuse she was going through. She waved to Ceres, still not understanding why they insisted she was the mother. "Bye bye kiddo" She said and waved with a smile. When Himiko walked in, Kathrine didn't think much of it. "Hey, Jake? when am I allowed to leave?" Kathrine asked. "I'll ask the doctors....I'll prepare the trip to go back to your....home...but when you see I'm telling the truth, will you please at least let me help you till you can handle your own?" Jake asked as he sat on the bed next to her. "Nahh...even if your crazy story is true...I dont like to depend on people...." She said. "I dont like to depend on people" She had said that same thing to Shen once. Upon being handed to Himiko Ceres started to fuss before she started to cry, her tiny body fussing in the women's arms. Kathrine blinked looking back to the baby, the kid hadnt balled while she had held her before. This was the first time Jake had seen the baby really cry

ic: "I see..." Shen whispered. He looked down at Ceres seeing her blowing tiny spit bubbles at him. Shen laughed softly. He leaned down and rubbed his nose into the bubble causing it to pop in both their faces. His soft brown eyes than found Kate's violet ones. She really...thought she was 17. "Well...I'll leave her to you." Shen whispered and gave Jacob a small bow. Shen...he just couldn't go throw it again. Some might of called this a second chance, however Shen didn't really see it that way. "Ok Ceres, say good bye to mommy." Shen smiled as he turned around. He was about to place the girl into Kate's arms when Himiko suddenly entered the room. Shen turned back around, his eyes filled with rage. However, he kept his cool for the sake of his daughter. "I asked you to wait..." Shen frowned. "I'm sorry, but I just couldn't." Himiko replied softly. When she saw Ceres, her eyes brightened. She walked up to the baby with the brightest of smiles. "Can I hold her?" she asked. Himiko had yet to acknowledge Katherine. Shen paused. He wasn't sure about allowing Himiko to hold his baby. However, Kate was out of it so it wasn't like she'd have a reason to object. "Fine, but hold her head and dont you dare drop her..." Shen growled as he handed Ceres over. "My My aren't we a cutie?" Himiko grinned. "Ah, and you have your mother's eyes...how nice."

"Hmph, your telling me...damn doctors....a bunch of smart asses...." She muttered while glaring off to the side. Oh yes, she was the same stubborn spirited girl she had been when Shen first met her. "I dont know....She's refused to live with me and claims she'll call it kidnapping.... I guess I'll take her back and show her she has nothing to return to....after that, I dont know it depends on her, though I'm not going to give up on her, even if she claims me as a stalker. "Hey doc, how long was I out of school for? I want to get an idea of how much school work I need to catch up on" Kate said, looking up at him. Ceres was gurgling and cooing as Shen held her, the baby was a well behaved one

"Utterly ridiculous..." Shen muttered. He rose to his feet while rocking Ceres. She was such a quiet baby. Shen wondered why she hadn't begun to cry after he had raised his voice. Shen would have to make note to speak as softly as possible from now on. "What do you intend to do with her?" Shen asked, his eyes on Jacob. "She thinks she's 17...and she's left her life behind. I suppose...she could start over, but it wont do much good if her mind has progressed backwards." Shen sighed. His eyes shifted down towards Ceres. It looked like the poor girl wouldn't get the money she deserved..

"I had told the doctors she was the only family I had left....the fact that she had just had a baby...I dunno....I'm thankful they didnt give up though...." Jake said while running a hand through her hair. Kathrine blinked and looked at Ceres and smiled at her. "Hey kiddo" She smiled and looked a Shen again. "You too Doc? Yeah, okay that makes a lot of sense...we fucked what....a week ago? maybe two, I dunno how long I was out. "So of course, it makes total sense that I concieves and birthed a kid in a week or two later, how could I not have known" she said and crossed her arms. "Seriously.... all of you are trying too hard at a really bad joke" She growled.

"Listen...I do thank you, really I do. You did something that I could not." Shen whispered. When Jacob finally handed Ceres over, Shen held her carefully. He had delivered several babies, but had never held one so cute. "Hi Ceres." Shen whispered. Gods, her hands were so tiny. Shen leaned down and pressed his lips against her cheek. "I'm your daddy." Shen smiled happily. The baby definitely had Kate's eyes, but his complexion. She looked like an average mixed Chinese-American girl, only cuter. Nothing could spoil this moment. Then, it happened. Shen stared up at Kate. "Is this...some sort of joke? Dead for 7 minutes...there's no way they'd continue to revive her. Any doctor would have called it..." Shen frowned. This had to be a joke. He walked over towards Kate and showed her Ceres. "Katherine, enough games! This your child. With a single glance you can tell. She's ours. She wasn't planned...but she's ours. Surely you know this."

"Because if not for me...you wouldnt have a child at all" He said and cuddled Ceres a little longer before kissing her softly on the head and carefully handed her to Shen. It was true, He had litterally had to force Kate to eat most of the time, good food and get exercise in. Kate would have miscarried if not for Jake. Kathrine tilted her head. "The kid is yours Doc? I thought you were singe" Kathrine said confused. "Kathrine, be quiet" Jake said. Kathrine crossed her arms. "Her....her heart stopped....she was officially dead for 7 minutes before the doctors managed to get her heart going....I dont think....she's ever going to regain her memories...she's stuck back when she was 17....brain cells that are killed off...wont grow back witht he same memories..." Jake sighed

Shen walked in swiftly. When he saw Ceres, his arms immediately opened. He saw the expression on Jake's face tho. Was he going to refuse to hand the baby over? Shen was about to speak, but then paused. "Doc?" Shen blinked. He hadn't heard that name in a while. He stared at Kate hard. If this was some kind of game...it was cruel and weird. Sighing, he shook his head. He'd deal with Kate later. Instead he focused on Jake. "Give her to me." he commanded. "I know you've done allot...and I thank you. Tho, I must question why you assumed that taking Kate away for 7 months was the best option. Whatever the case, whats done is done. Now, give me MY child."

"Seriously when are you going to stop the story telling" Kate's voice said annoyed. "I'm not making things up, you cant go back to your uncles, he doesnt even live there, we're in Minnesota, no where near your old home. Your 20 not 17" Jacob tried to reason with her. "Your annoying" Kathrine said. "And your just stubborn" Jake retorted while patting Ceres' back to get her to burp. When Shen walked in Jake stood up hugging Ceres possessivly. "Finally, hey doc whats up" Kate said with a smile. She hadnt called him doc since high school...almost two years ago now. "Can you tell this guy to knock off the stories, I sweat he's trying to brain wash me or something...And when can I go home, my uncles going to be pissed...even though I'm sure he's the reason I'm in the hospital in the first place" She said with a growl. Jacob sighed. "It's...a long story..." Jake said, still holding Ceres, almost afraid to let the sweet little girl go

Shen's flight arrived early in the morning. He and Himiko jumped into the first cab they could get and headed directly towards the local hospital. Shen began tapping his foot against the floor. Was he...nervous? So many things were running through his mind. He wondered if the baby was healthy the most. "Ceres..." Shen whispered as a smile graced his lips. Himiko sat back against her seat. She didn't share Shen's happiness. No, she had her own reason for going and it had nothing to do with seeing Shen's new baby. When they reached the hospital Shen walked up towards the desk and asked for Kate's room. He looked back ready to tell Himiko to stay put, but she was already sitting down with a book in her hands.

Jacob had picked Ceres up and was walked around with her, smiling. He'd hate having to give her to Shen and not see her grow. He looked at his phone as "I'll be up and waiting" He sent the text. He walked back to Kates room with Ceres after getting permission from a nurse. Kathrine was awake again, reading. She looked up seeing Jake with the baby "Who's the kid?" She asked. "Its your daughter" He said. "Yeah right...I had a kid in a day" she scoffed and waved him over. Let me see her" She said and Jake walked over. "She is cute..." She commented. "Wanna hold her?" He asked. "No, I dont like kids" She said. "Come on, you can feed her" He said and handed her Ceres. Kathrine blinked, holding the baby awkwardly at first, but with Jake's help was feeding her. "She's so tiny...so seriously, who's kid? yours?" She asked. Jake sighed and shook his head while Kate held onto the bottle for Ceres. Jake pulled out his phone and took as many pictures of them together as he could before Ceres would be taken away

Shen pulled out his phone. He let out a long sigh. He was late to see his own child...was such a thing forgivable? Then, he saw it. Ceres was absolutely beautiful. Shen's eyes and heart softened. Tears even formed near the corners of his eyes. "So..thats her..." Shen mumbled. "Who's her?" Himiko blinked as she leaned in close to shen. "Ah! What a cute baby. I say that honestly too. Some people's babies are freaking hideous." She smiled and leaned in closer causing her breasts to press firmly into Shen's arm. Shen didn't notice however. His eyes were fixed on the photo, which Himiko picked up on. "I'd better let him know that we had some trouble." Shen whispered. Himiko pulled back and crossed her right leg over the other. She knew something like this would happen eventually. Meanwhile, Shen pressed the send button. "Yea sorry. Ran into a delay. Our flight will arrive in an hour so we should get there by 5 at the latest."

Kathrine had passed out reading a book. Jacob looked at his phone, it was almost 3am... He sent a text to Shen's phone. "Just wanted to make sure everythings good...thought you said you'd be here around evening and its already morning" he hit send and shut the phone he went to looked at Ceres, taking pictures of the baby girl. He got on perfect one of her opening her dark violet hues. He sent the picture to Shen. "I'm sure your dying to see her...she's stunning...You and Kate made a beautiful kid" he sent along with the image of a brown haired baby. She had a head of hair already, dark brown, Jake had no doubt that as the weeks would pass Cere's eyes would become a brighter violet like Kate's were

Three long...and very painful hours later, Shen was released. He rubbed his butt as he walked towards Himiko. Her brow arched. She stared at Shen with a wide devilish grin. "Cavity search?" she smirked. "Fuck you." Shen hissed. Himiko gasped and placed her hands over her mouth. "Why Shen...I must say thats a first!" She exclaimed. Himiko's attempts at humor failed to impress Shen however. "When is our flight?" he asked while moving towards a chair, but then decided against sitting down. "Well me missed the last two because some idiot decided to talk about how America is being raped by China. So because of that idiot, WE have to wait another hour for our flight." Himiko stated. Shen hung his head. Really, it was unlike him to get so...emotional. But he couldn't help it. He wanted to see his little girl. He also wanted to see Kate, but he told himself that the second desire didn't matter. Besides, even if he did see Kate...it wasn't like anything would change. Shen figured that Kate intended to give him custody. Otherwise, he would have never gotten a call. Kate had even given the baby his last name...

Truthfully she remembered him snatching her away from Brian while she was high on drugs and wound up having sex with her due to her failed attempts to please herself due to the drug, but she didnt know if this guy was a cop or what and she want going to go blabbing about such things to someone she didnt know. ic: Shen and Himiko had managed to grab some plane tickets. Unfortunately they were rather expensive since they were obtained at the last minute. Himiko didn't understand why Shen always acted as if he had no money. The guy was loaded now that he was working for his parent's multi-million dollar company. He had a new car and everything along with his own driver. "Ok lets get through this as soon as possible." Shen stated as they began to walk towards airport security. "Shen...if you run you're gonna get tackled and ass raped..." Himiko warned him, but Shen paid her no mind. He scrambled to take his change out of his pockets. The guard who was observing got a nod from his boss. "Sir, stop there and dont move." he ordered. Shen looked up. "You've been selected for a random inspection. Leave your things and come with me at once." the guard ordered. Shen's entire face turned red with fury. "Are you serious?! I'm freaking Chinese! Do I look like a terrorist? You know good and well that my people prefer to bleed your country dry through financial methods as opposed to physical!" Shen spat. Himiko slapped her palm against her face. NExt thing Shen knew he was surrounded by ten guards, with more coming. "You idiot...you've never gotten this excited before...." Himiko thought to herself as she waved Shen goodbye while he was being dragged away

Jacob waited...what was going to happen to Kate now? If she allowed him to, he'd happily stay with her...but he was also worried about how she might take the news of the truth...how would she react. He went in and tried his best to explain. "So let me get his straight....I ran away from home with the doc from school, went to school in New York for a year..and had a kid...thats funny, you should write stories" She said, dismissing it. "Wait...you remember Shen?" Jake asked. "The doc? sure, he just transfered into the school last week. Nosy son of a-- he's waaay too innocent to be working here in the states with all the slut bags around at school" She said. "Wait wait...Shen, you know Shen" He said. "Yeah I told you, he's a nosy goody goody teacher" She said, getting irritated

ic: Shen's father hadn't taken the news well...in fact...he was still screaming two hours after shen had hung up. "Dear...you're disturbing the tea..." Mei sighed as she watched her husband rave back and forth across their living room floor. "He said he's going to Minnosota! Whats so important that he would run away from his duties! That boy is lazy! Its time he grew up and started acting like a man!!!" GenShen bellowed. Mei sat back in her chair. She sipped her tea one more time before placing it down on the table. Something was definitely suspicious. Shen had never told her that Kate was pregnant. he had also neglected to mention why Katherine and him had split. "Calm yourself dear. I'm sure we'll find out something eventually. Tho...it would be nice to be able to talk to shen without you blowing up in the background." Mei sighed deeply. "Damnit woman! I'm the man of this house hold. I'll blow up if I desire so!!!!!" Gen roared, tho after that Mei decided to simply ignore him. The poor man could never last too long under Mei's legendary silent treatment.

"God....my body is killing me..." Kathrine groaned while trying to move, Jacob was trying to stop her from moving so much. He didnt know what to do, she didnt remember him, or Josh or Jazz, or the fact that she was in the hospital because she had just given birth to the baby. "Shit...did someone shank me?" She asked, , having lifted her hospital gown seeing stitches along her lower belly from the seesection ((Cant spell XP)) "Wait here...dont move okay?" He said and walked out, thankfully one of the nurses had taken Ceres back to the nursery.

ic: Shen stared at Himiko for a good five minutes. Was she really serious? "Hey...I know we're sort of going out...but..." Shen began, but Himiko was already packing her bags. "Eh, did you say something?" she asked. Shen jumped to his feet. He hated when she ignored him! "Listen when someone is talking to you..." Shen growled. Himiko let out a deep sigh. "I heard you. I believe you said, 'Himiko you're good enough to suck my dick, but not good enough to meet my daughter.' " she stated while using her very best impression of Shen's voice, which was pretty good. Shen was at a lost for words. His situation and what she was talking about were two completely different things. "F-Fine...just...promise you'll stay in the waiting room ok?" Shen sighed. She always defeated him regardless of the logic he tried to use. "Deal." Himiko giggled. She picked up her suitcase and placed it on the floor. "Ah, but who is going to talk to your dad?" she asked. Shen froze. "D-Damnit..."

Jacob laid Ceres in the bed they had left for her, the doctors coming in every hour to check on Kate but she still hadnt woken up. It wasnt until late that evening that she started to stir. Jacob stood next to her bed holding her hand. "Kate" He said as she opened her eyes. She blinked and looked at him, pulling her hand away. "Who...are you?" She asked. "Eh?....Oh no worries, Joshua will explain everything" Jacob said with a smile. He knew the mention of Joshua was trigger some basic memories. "Who?" She asked. Jake blinked. "Uh...Joshua...you know who Joshua is right?" He asked. Kathrine wince and held her chest where they had pressed the paddles to restart her heart. "Fuck....ow...what the hell did my uncle do this time..." She muttered. Jacob's eyes widened. "Kathrine, do you know who you are? how old are you..." Jake asked. Kathrine looked around, she was in a hospital. "Yeah...Kathrine Burrows. I'm 17" She said. "Kathrine, whats the last thing you remember...." He said. Kathrine thought... "Hm....going home from school...making it home then....i dunno" She said with a shrug. Was....a genuine memory loss possible? had her brain cells containter her memories from the point she remembered to now been lost? If he recalled when such cells die...the memories are never found...they are perminently forgotten..."So...who are you?? My doctor?" she asked looking at him
