You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine tucked some of her brown hair behind her ear and lightly smiled. "I think your underestimating the jealousy of a woman...." She said softly. "But then again, I dont really know her, so she may be different then other girls" She said while brushing her nuckles lightly down Ceres' cheek. She looked over to him as he grabbed her phone and put him number in. "I will" She said and chuckled when e told her to promise. "I promise" She repeated softly

Shen came to stand by Kate's bedside. He gazed down at his baby girl as she stretched her tiny hands out. "She looks happy." he smiled while leaning in to plant a soft kiss on his daughter's cheek. His smile soon faded tho after Kate had brought up Himiko. "Listen...she understands that Ceres comes first...and to a degree...so do you. I mean, your needs are important." Shen stated while shifting his eyes to the side. This was so hard...and awkward. He understand that Kate had lost her memories again, but that didn't make the situation any easier. In fact, it made the situation more complicated. "Well...I guess I'll be going. I'll be back first thing in the morning." Shen stated, but then paused to grab Kate's cell phone from her night stand. Shen placed his number back into her contacts list. "You have my number. If for any reason you need me call me. It doesn't matter what." he stated and placed her phone back onto the night stand. "Promise me."

By the time Shen came back to drop the books off, Kathrine had just finished breast feeding Ceres again. "Thanks, and yeah I figured as much, that's why I wanted to read, them so I have an idea of what I need to do" She said while she cradled Ceres. Her robe was loose from having just fed her. The baby girl opened a dark violet hue when Shen leaned closer and yawned, stretching her tiny hands. Kathrine gave Shen a soft smile, though there was sadness behind it. Ceres drifted off to sleep in the comfort of her mothers arms and turned slightly, her head nestled against Kathrine's breast wile her hand rested atop it on her mothers exposed skin. "I've got everything here," Kathrine said with a smile. "I dont want to get you in trouble with your girlfriend" She said softly and looked back to Ceres with a soft smile. She wasnt Spiteful... she didnt judge him in the least, she seemed like she was just trying to accept it and move on.

When Shen came back, he had a few baby books in hand by different authors. The subjects ranged from how to interact with a baby to how to bathe, feed, and even play with one's baby. Shen placed the books on Kate's nightstand. He was sure that it wouldn't take her long to go through them if she still had her photographic memory. By the looks of it, that part of her was still in tact. "Here you go." Shen stated as he dropped the books off. He turned to hover the bed and cast a wide smile down at Ceres. "Dont take whats written in there to heart tho. Those books are mainly guidelines. You dont have to live by them."

Kathrine blinked and looked down at Ceres. She...honestly couldnt picture leaving her. The only reasons he was so okay with it when Shen first came was because she didnt believe Jacob when he told her Ceres was hers...but now....even if Shen wanted full custody of her...he'd have to fight for it because she wasnt willing to let go of her baby. The better piece of her and the only piece she'd have of Shen anymore. "Yeah...see ya" She said. After a moment Kathrine covered her eyes with one hand while the other held Ceres. She cried softly, wiping her tears again. This was so hard....she only hoped she'd be able to move on like he had....

"Will do...tho." Shen paused just as he reached the door. "I...I want you to know...that I'm happy about how seriously you're taking this. Before, you always said that you hated kids and never wanted one. I...I was scared...I didn't know what I'd tell Ceres. How can you tell a child that her mother wants nothing to do with her? Anyway...t-thank you." shen whispered. His eyes shifted to the floor a few moments after, but he had said it. "Anyway I'll be back." he replied softly as he walked through the door. His morning had been equally busy. Unfortunately, Himiko and him had still yet to sit down and really talk about how things were going to work with Kate and the baby. Shen was dreading the conversation, but it needed to be discussed.

Kathrine chuckled as he got up and grabbed the diaper. "Okay, Oh when you come back later, could you by any chance grab me some baby books? I wanna read some more, just so I'm better prepared" She said looking down at Ceres with a smile. "Yes....mommy wants to take care of you good" She said in a playful voice and Ceres cooed softly as her eyes slowly closed and she fell asleep. "Busy morning for her" She chuckled

"My choice was it?" Shen smiled as he closed his eyes. The smile was about as fake as the one Kate was wearing, if not more so. "Yes I suppose." he whispered. Shen sat back up. The dirty diaper needed to be thrown away. "My god...for someone who eats nothing but milk this sure stinks." he smiled and grabbed the diaper. "I'm going to toss this before it melts down the entire hospital. I'll be back in a few minutes, but then I'll have to leave for an hour or so. I'll be back later in the afternoon to check on the two of you."

"W-well...in the end it is your choice right?" She said forcing another smile. It was nice to know his mother liked him and that his scary father liked her even only a tiny bit better. She herself didnt know the women, but by the sound sof it, she was the normal type of girl Shen would get with....but again it was his choice...and whatever she did over the last two years to fuck up htings between them...she couldnt just expect things to fall back into place how she recalled them.

"God...where do I began?" Shen groaned as he sat back against one of Kate's pillows. "Well firstly...we're not...exactly together, her words by the way. Second, although she is a genius doctor she sucks at just about everything else...or maybe she's lazy...I haven't figured out which. Oh...also the first time she and my mother meant Himiko walked out in nothing but very lacy nightwear. She may have also called my mother an ancient cow..." shen stated as he pressed his palm against his face. "Mother also doesn't like the fact that Himiko is half japanese. She and father have a thing...against Japanese people I suppose. Deep down tho...I think.." Shen began, but paused to turn towards Kate. "She really, really liked you. She knew it all, the rape and the abuse...and she didn't care. She liked you...and..that pleased me. My mother's opinion is very important to me. Of course, my father hated both you and Himiko, tho he did refer to you as being, 'the lesser of two evils'....if that helps at all."

"Seriously? Oh my god, how embarrassing" She said and lightly laughed. Usually it was mothers saying stay away from my son, no giving one advice on how to concieve a child faster. When he brought up Himiko Kathrine looked down at Ceres. "Thats...too bad, didnt you say she was a doctor too? That means she's successful right? Why wouldnt your mother like that?" She asked, trying to keep the conversation light even though it pained her to talk about him with another woman

Shen blinked twice. He shifted a little when he noticed how uncomfortable Kate was. "Oh..sorry." he whispered. He understood, really he did. For her, she still loved him and it must have been hell to find out that he was with someone else. Shen kept telling himself this over and over. It was the only real way he had worked up enough strength to at least be able to forgive her. "Ah yes. I believe that completely." Shen sighed. "Hey...do you remember me talking about my late fiance Yui? Well, whenever she and my mom got together mother would bombard Yui with all sorts of useless information. Stuff like proper child conceiving positions, what food to eat, and other foolishness. Once she likes a women in my life, she tends to stick to that women like glue. Its a shame...that she hates...no...thoroughly despises Himiko with every fiber of her being..."

Kathrine's blush deepened feeling Shen's arm against her's. She shifted a little, so they werent touching. "S-sorry....I-it's just....well....heh difficult I guess" She said forcing a soft smile. She meant being so close to him. It took everything she had not to lean against him and start crying for him to give her another chance. No...she couldnt bombard him like that...she refused to cause trouble for him....at least....not any more... "I remember...you mom started talking about us having kids when she took me shopping the other da--...ah...well when ever that was. "She was having issues remembering that two years had passed

"The top of the class. Oh! Naturally she has to be athletic too. Thats very important for a growing girl. Believe or not, my mother back in her day was the ranking volleyball player in China." Shen beamed. He hadn't noticed how close he was to Kate. It felt natural, so he didn't question it. He actually decided to move onto the bed causing his body to brush firmly against her arm as he continued to gently tickle Ceres. "No. At the time...when we discovered you were pregnant...I made no plans for us to get married. Understand, our relationship...well...we didn't have one, not really. So I figured there was no point in telling her. Also, at the time..we weren't a hundred % sure that I was the father. After you and I did the math tho, we concluded that it had to me." shen replied softly. He leaned forward, raised Ceres' shirt, and lightly blew a raspberry on her belly. "Mother will be pleased in the end. She's been wanting a grandchild for a long time. Father....well....I have an idea of how he'll react."

Kathrine smiled, as Ceres cooed, as Shen tickled her. "With our brains rolled into one...she'll probably be top of her class through out school" Kathrine said. So far she still seemed to have her photographic memory, she has able to skim the packet and remember everything from it. "You...never told her?" She asked looking at Shen, now realizing how close he was to her. She looked down instantly with a light blush on her cheeks, quickly reminding herself they werent together

Shen was prepared to change the diaper, but to his surprise...Katherine took complete control. Not only that, she cleaned Ceres properly and had even remembered to apply a little cream to prevent rashes from the new diaper. Shen stood near the bed, his brow raised and his mouth slightly hanging open. This was the reason he had chosen to get involved. Even tho Kate had no memory of the birth, it was clear that the mother and daughter belonged together. For the first time a genuine smile, which wasn't solely aimed at Ceres, appeared on Shen's lips. He leaned in close to Kate and tickled Ceres' sides with his finger. "I cant believe she's ours..." he whispered softly, his eyes filling with pride as he gazed down at his daughter. "Soon she'll be walking...and after that, preschool, highschool, and than Harvard." Shen stated with a soft chuckle. "She is going to be so amazing. I can tell. Oh...I suppose I'll have to call my mother eventually. She'll flip when she hears the news. Actually, fair warning, she might be just a little pissed at both of us for not telling her immediately."

Kathrine's hues looked down as he made it clear that they werent lovers. "I-I know..." She said as he reminded ehr that Ceres was her top priority. She finished her broth and pushed the tray aside. Ceres gurgled and cooed before starting to fuss. "Ah, She probably needs a diaper change." She said, pressing a button to call a nurse. "Can I get a new diaper?" She asked when one came in, who left to go get the items needed. Kathrine held her arms up to take Ceres. When Shen handed her over Kathrine slowly put her on the bed between her legs. "Hey pretty girl" Kathrine said in a soft playful voice. Ceres sniffled and cried a little. Kathrine let her cry, she has been reading a packet the hospital provided and she read that allowing them to cry for small periods helped build their lungs. When Shen had left the other day Kathrine had already learned how to change Ceres' diaper. She cleaned the baby up and put put the fresh diaper on. "All better stinky" Kathrine smiled as she lifted Ceres back up and brought her close to her face. Ceres gurgled again, her tiny hands reaching out to Kate's face

Somehow, Shen wasn't surprised in the least. Jacob always seemed to have his bases covered...almost as if he were expecting Shen to nail him. As Kate began to blush Shen rolled his eyes. Why was he getting so emotionally involved again? Why hadn't he just taken Ceres away like he had planned originally? He was struggling to remember. He continued to hold Ceres as Kate opted to hold onto Jake's friendship but after that, asked him to leave. Shen had his eyes closed. He was lightly rocking Ceres back and forth. Somehow, he could feel her eyes on him, like she was waiting to hear if he was upset or not. "I'm not your lover. Do as you wish, just keep in mind that Ceres always comes first." Shen stated with his eyes still closed. Perhaps if Kate and Jacob did end up together Shen could- no...he didn't even want to entertain the thought. "Anyway, we can discus this more later. I'm sure Himiko is wondering when I'll come back. For now, I'll leave Ceres here with you. She seems healthy, but it wont hurt to keep her in the hospital for a few more days alongside you."

"Actually Josh has already found another boyfriend, I contacted him a few months ago. He's pissed at me, prolly wont ever forgive me, not that I expect him to...so I'm actually a single man" Jacob said and glanced at Kathrine as he mentioned he was single. Kathrine blushed and looked down, sipping at her broth. "So....if Kathrine doesnt mind my presence....I will continue to be her friend," He said and looked at Kate once more. Kathrine looked from Shen to Jacob, their was obviously a tension between them....and she loved and trusted Shen more than anything, but Jacob was one of the first sincere sounding guys she had met other than Shen, and by the sounds of it, he was telling the truth about caring for her for the last 7 months. "U-uh....I...." She said looking at Shen again. She didnt know what to do. "M-maybe...we can....keep being friends?....I-I mean...It'd b nice to know...some one when I go to New York" She said. Jacob smiled gently and nodded. "Of course" He said. "But for now...maybe you should...go..." She said. "You have my number, call me when ever you want. I'll drop by to check on you before the trip to NY" he said and walked out. Kathrine glanced at Shen, hoping he wasnt mad

Shen's brow raised. Was he really...did he think that he could win, that he could come between Shen and his family? Shen sat back down. He too was calm, however that didn't mean he'd allow Jacob to have his way. "Yes well, if you can manage a boyfriend while confessing to Kate I'm sure that I'll somehow be able to manage spending time with MY family and Himiko. Your concerns are wasted." Shen stated simply as he leaned back against his chair. "I think that...you've done what you felt was right. Now, that role is over. Now is the time for Katherine, Ceres, and I to be a family. Maybe not a whole one, but a family still the same. Dont interfere." Shen warned him before shifting his gaze over towards KAte. She had been pretty quiet.

Jacob wasnt going to back done. He stood calm and collected while more or less being told off by Shen. "You make very valid points however...how will your girlfriend feel about you spending so much time with your ex? I mean, that wont be easy, making sure Kathrine is taken care of, as well as committing yourself to the women you've been with for almost a year now" He said. "I dont see the harm in letting me continue to help, I obviously dont have any mis placed plans considering I've been living with her for the last 7 months, and yes, I did confess my feelings for her, and even after being rejected, continued to stay with her knowing nothing would change." He said.

"No one of concern." Shen stated, and again..rather bluntly. "Your work is appreciated Jacob, however I will handle Kate's living and financial needs. She's the mother of MY child. I will see to it that she lives comfortably and is able to work so that she does not have to take hand outs. Right now, her rest is my number one concern along with Ceres' health. After she's recovered then she and I can discuss her future and working." he stated again while stressing that Jacob held no place within Shen's plans. "Once again, I thank you for all you've done. You..saved kate..and was kind enough to call me after my first born had arrived. You can rest easy. I'll take care of both Ceres and Katherine." Shen stated firmly as his eyes locked onto Jacob, but only for a moment. Right after that, he shifted his gaze to see if Ceres had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

"I liked the name as soon as I heard it" Kathrine said with a smile before sipping on a spoonful of broth. "Hm...this is just a guess, and honestly prolly has nothing to do with it. But we have been living pretty quiet lives in the woods. The routine was pretty simple but it kept us busy, and we obviously never had many visitors" Jacob said. "So, maybe the lack of socialization from the outside may have something to due with it" Jake offered as a possibility. "Oh Shen, I'd like to get your address in NY so I can look for a place as close as possible to you for Kathrine to live. I figure that would make sharing custody easier. "W-wait, I'm not taking hand outs, you cant just get me a house" Kathrine said. "I know, I also got you a job lined up as a photographer for a friends Studio. You'll start out on the bottom, paper work booking appointments and such and work your way up. Most of it can be done at home until you get promoted to camera" Jake said. Kathrine blinked. Just...who was this guy?

"Ah...yes I suppose you wouldn't." Shen whispered just as Jacob walked in. Great. Shen had completely forgotten about the guy. "It's beautiful name. I was just wondering why, but I suppose that doesn't matter. I've already signed the birth certificate. Besides, I think the name suits her. She seems happy." Shen smiled and gave Ceres a soft pat on her back. "I'm surprised by how quiet she is tho. I've delivered my share of babies and none were ever this quiet."

Kathrine eased back and rubbed her stomach lightly...scaring...she didnt even think of how bad this one would look. Last time she looked in the mirror her body was covered in bruises and light fading scars thanks to the cream Shen had given her to use. "I named her?" she asked looking at him and then to her baby. "I dont remember" She said trying to think. "Its because you names her before you blacked out" Jacob said while walking in with a bowl of broth. "I asked the nurse, and she said some broth would be okay for you to have" He said while pulling up the bed tray and put the bowl down.. "Ah, thank you" She said
