You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Shen kept a close eye on her while the nurses and doctors ran their test. While doing that, he also continued texting Himiko. She was always good for a laugh. One of the doctors had grabbed Shen to for a quick talk outside the room just a few minutes before Kate woke up. Shen learned that he was the father of the child, tho that didn't surprise him. Unfortunately that was the only news the doctor had. He did tell Shen that he could take Kate him if he wanted. "Thank you." Shen replied softly. He closed his eyes and bowed his head to the man before walking back into the room just in time to find Kate up. "You ready go home?"

Kathrine wound up sleeping for a few hours. Doctors came in checking on her now and then, sending nurses to do the same. It was late afternoon by the time she woke up again. She groaned and stretched. Rubbing her eyes before sitting up. She felt so stiff from being in bed for almost 24 hours....

"Yes...I suppose." Shen whispered. Gods, he had never found talking to Kate so difficult. As she turned on her side, Shen got up from the bed. He decided to sit down in a chair that was close to the bed. He sat there silently while Kate slept. Then, a soft buzz went off from his pocket. Shen pulled his phone out. Himiko had sent him a very long, very complicated, and very hard to read text message. Fortunately, over the last month shen had gotten use to her odd texts so he was able to reply before stuffing his phone back into his pocket. He still in his heart couldn't believe that Kate was jealous...especially when she hadn't admitted to it.

"Then your the one who misunderstood..." She said as she looked away the darkness in her tone fading as she turned onto her side. "I'm tired....I'm taking a nap" She said, which wasnt a lie, she was exhausted even after only being awake for a few hours. "I'll eat more later" She said with a yawn and nuzzled her head into her pillow

"Wait....huh??????" Shen blinked..again. He could feel the darkness coming from Kate's voice too. He should of known better than to talk openly about Himiko. "I think there's been a misunderstanding...um...yes this morning I was going to call my dad. There are serious things we need to talk about. I thought tho that you were referring to my roomate." Shen laughed nervously. "No No you're right she is an adult..I suppose I've just-" Shen stated, but then paused. This was a trap! His gut screamed for him to drop the subject. "A-Anyway, I'll call my father later. Besides, there's a big time difference between here and China."

"Wait...the call you wanted to make this morning was her....I thought you wanted to call your dad" She said her voice growing a tad darker when he started talking about the girl again. "That womens an adult, she should be able to wake herself up and feed herself at this point in life" She growled and finished off her grapes pushing the soup to the side, having lost her appatite all over again

Shen watched her eat. He had expected her to take the grapes first. When Kate gave him permission to make his call, Shen blinked twice. "So...wait...you're ok with it now?" He blinked again. "Well...I really dont need to speak to her that badly. Tho, I am curious if she got to work on time and how. She's not good with...well...anything really. I feel like I'm her parent sometimes to be honest. I'll be yelled at if she shows up late. The whole building knows we live together..." Shen sighed as he shook his head. When Kate had mentioned his 'call' Shen thought she was talking about his call with Himiko, not his father.

Kathrine waited bordly in the bed. When Shen walke in she reached over for the grapes first and plopped one into her mouth. Hospitals always had good grapes, in her oppinion they were the only good thing they served. "Okay..." She said and plopped another into her mouth. "You wanted to make a call ealier right?....I'm fine now you can go do what you need to" She said looking up at him

"As you wish." Shen smiled and leaned in give her a quick kiss on the cheek. When he came back a few minutes later, he had a bowl of hot cheese and potato soup. Next to the steaming bowl was a smaller one filled grapes. It wasn't the best combination, but all the other choices were pretty crappy. "Here you are." Shen smiled and placed her tray in front of her before moving back onto the edge of the bed. "Do try to eat it all...even if the taste is bland. You need strength..in addition to a little more weight."

Kathrine blinked and looked up as Shen crawled onto the bed, looking up at him as he kissed her lovingly. She sighed and closed her eyes. "If they have some, grapes....I'd like some of those in addition to what ever else you bring please" She said lightly

"You need to eat." Shen whispered. He moved forward, closing the distance between the two of them. As he crawled up towards her, a small smile appeared on his lips. "The stronger you get, the sooner you can leave. I'll be able to sign you out. However, I cant do that if I do see proper progress in your condition." Shen replied softly. He hovered over Kate for a moment before lightly pressing his lips against her forehead and then again on one of her cheeks. "I'll bring you back the best I can find, promise."

"The truth can be harsh...." She replied but mostly to herself. Joshua had dressed her in a dark brown flowing skirt and a light tan tank top. She hugged on of the extra pillows she had against her and shook her head. "I'm not hugnry" She said while resting her chine on the pillow. She was sick of this place already and just wanted to go home....being a doctor trainie she knew a good portion of doctors and nurses took their time when it came to stablized patients...

"Well I'd say clueless is a bit harsh..." Shen stated, tho only very softly. "In any case, I wont speak of her. As soon as I talk with my father about a few things I'll move my stuff out too." Shen stated, tho in the back of his head he could easily see Himiko trying to follow him. "So, are you hungry? I could go grab something for you from the kitchen. I doubt they'll allow me to cook unfortunately."

Kathrine blinked seeing Shen walked back in and turned her head, looking away. She didnt interupt his apology and waited him to be done. "I swear your the same.... Your the smartest man I've met...but when it comes to women your completely clueless... she sighed and looked at him. "I shouldnt have gotten so worked up....I'm sorry too...." She said looking at him

"She's only willing because she's pregnant...if she wasn't...I doubt she'd want me here at all." Shen thought to himself as he closed his eyes for a moment. He wondered if the two of them would really be able to work things out. "Thank you." Shen replied softly and gave Josh a small bow. He walked back into Kate's room and sat down on the edge of the bed. "I've been told...that I was insensitive. I apologize. Himiko and I...simply have this routine. I shouldn't have answered the call to began with." Shen replied softly while facing her. "I didn't mean to make you upset Kate...tho...to be honest I didn't think you'd care either, but thats...thats not important. I really am sorry."

"Yeah, I had brought a long loose flowing skirt and a tank top for her, I figured it'd be easy access with her cast and all" He said. "Maybe when You go back in...just apologize for not being more sensitive about the matter....She's just worried about you being taken from her...now when she is willing to try and work things out" He said

"Perhaps..." Shen muttered as he ran both his hands through his hair. "I guess...I could be more understanding." Shen thought to himself. The last thing either of them needed was a major fight. "Did you help her change yet? She wont be able to bathe herself so she needs a scrub down. Normally the nurses would do it...but I dont think she wants stranger touching her regardless of the reason."

"Shen...she's in a delicate state right now, is it really that hard to understand? She probably forgot you had even mentioned it to her, when she wasnt talking to you, she more or less was doing anything she could to block you out...She's still human Shen," Joshua said while unfolding his arms.

Shen crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall. He thought that perhaps he should have told Josh that Kate was pregnant...tho the two of them had agreed to keep it a secret for the moment. When Josh came back, Shen's brow raised and his jaw dropped. "J-Jealous? Katherine doesn't get jealous...well...except in only rare situations." Shen explained. "And I told her that I was living with a women. She blew ME off when I tired explaining my living situation. As for her eating condition....Himiko called me...and since I always cook...and we work together...I may have told her to make sure she eats right while on the phone...in front of Kate. Still, its not that big a deal. No..there has to be something more..." Shen stated, tho it sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than Josh

Joshua tilted his head. "That sounds....interesting...but then again since she was attacked again, her emotions are probably in a wreck and she seeks whats most comforting...so yeah that makes sence..." He began to mumble trying to figure out to himself why Kate would have been wanting Shen to kiss her. "Alright, I'll find out" He said and walked in. He was in there for roughly 30 min before walking out and looked at Shen with crossed arms. "Your living with a women....who walks around in nothing but her underware....and you were wprried weather she is eating right....in front of her? Shen....she's jealous.....why would you even bring that detail up to her...." Joshua asked

"Perhaps..." Shen sighed as he leaned up against the wall. When Josh showed up, he blinked twice and stood up straight. For one, he had actually wanted to see Jazz. Also, even if Josh was gay...shen wasn't sure how he felt about Josh helping Kate change. Though, it wasn't like he had too many choices to choose from either. "Physically she's ok. However...I dont know...she ended up getting really upset and now she wont talk to me. Could you go in and find out whats wrong? She doesn't want me anywhere near her, but not too long ago she was asking me to kiss her.."

The nurse flinched and took a step back from Shen looking at him. "O-oh....no its alright" She said. "Um...well perhaps the knowlage of it is putting her on edge as well?" She suggested. About a half hour passed before Joshua showed up with some clothes. "Hey, Jazz had a test to go to and called me, How's she doing?" Joshua asked

I'm a doctor, I dont need YOU to tell me about her body!" Shen snapped as he tore his hand away from the nurse. After that, he took a moment to breath and bowed his head. "My apologies...that was wrong of me. I'm...just a little stressed. She only just now found out that she was pregnant. Her hormones shouldn't be toying with her just yet..." Shen sighed as he stood up straight and scratched his head. "Anyway, I do apologize. Soon a friend of hers will bring her a change of clothes. Hopefully maybe she'll be able to figure out what has Katherine so upset..."

Kathrine pulled away from him. "Go away" She whimpered and curled up onto her side. A nurse walked in having heard Kathrine's first yell for him to leave. "Sir...maybe we should give her some space?" the nurse said and managed to guide Shen out. "Sir, you'll have to get used to her mood swings....her hormones will be going out of balance

"Wait...what I do now??" Shen blinked and sat up. He turned her over. Was...she seriously angry? "Kate whats wrong? We were just talking normally a second ago. Now..you're upset. I can hear it in your voice." he whispered as he gazed down over her. "Look just talk to me, please?" Shen asked. Surely, Kate wasn't mad at him over Himiko. It wasn't like her to get jealous...so Shen was sure that she had to be upset over something else.
