You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine leaned on the crib as she softly sang Ceres to sleep. Once the little girls eyes stayed closed, she walked to her bed and sat down. Lobo jumped up on the bed and laid down beside Kathrine, resting his big head on his paws. Kathrine blinked hearing the door from the living room open and close. She didnt move to get up and see if Shen was walked after Himiko...

Shen was puzzled. What made Himiko so sure that he and Kate would fail..and why was she so dead set against New York? Now that he thought about it, she had been dropping little hints about leaving for a while. "I'm sorry...that things couldn't work out." Shen whispered. He was still thankful despite her wrong doings...but their relationship was over. "Dont apologize. You'll be cursing yourself in a few weeks." Himiko smiled as she began walking towards the door past Shen. "Your decision making sucks. You'll wish you had grabbed Paris and left with me." She stated just before walking out the door. Shen closed his eyes. He let out a long sigh. Himiko didn't even like babies. He figured she must have simply wanted Ceres to keep him.

Kathrine had walked in just as Himiko stated how she and Shen had no future together. She glared at Himiko without a word before turning and walked down the hall toward her bedroom. She wasnt a part of this conversation. This was between Shen and Himiko. She had no say in the matter. It wasnt her who mattered in Shen's life ultimately...she new that...it was Ceres...and she was honestly okay with that...she on the other hand....loved him, just as much as she did Ceres. But she wasnt going to aid in his choice weather or not to choose some harpie lying bitch of a woman over her....She softly closed the door of her room and laid Ceres into her crib

Shen followed Himiko inside. He stopped to when he saw that she already had all her things packed. "Himiko.." he whispered. The blonde turned around with a light glare. "I'm leaving shen. I wont stay and play second fiddle to your baby momma." Himiko frowned, which earned her a stern glare from shen. "Is it true? Did you intercept Kate's calls? Are you responsible for all this?" he asked. Himiko smiled. She had forgotten how sexy shen looked when pissed off. "Why are you asking...when you've already made up your mind about who you're going to believe?" she smiled softly. She leaned down grabbing her two suitcases. "Last chance Shen. Believe me when I say that you two will have NO future together."

Kate shook her head as he thanked her. It had barely been to weeks, how could she not still love him...even after how he had treated and talked to her. She blinked as Himiko's voice tore them back to reality. Shen's reaction made it sound like he had just been caught cheating on her...though...In a way is was probably true. "Y-yeah, sure" She said with a sad smile. She wondered if Himiko was going to convince him to take her side once again... She leaned into the car and got Ceres, walking up toward the cabin. Lobo greeted her with a wagging tail and walked along side her as she entered the house

Shen's jaw dropped slightly. After everything he had said..and how he had treated her..she still loved him? Shen's eyes quickly found the ground. He felt tears of his own forming within the corners of his eyes. "T-Thank you.." Shen whispered. He brought his arm up to wipe his eyes before any tears threatened to fall. "Is this a private party, or can anyone join?" came the sound of Himiko's voice from the doorway of the cabin. She was staring coldly down at Kate who was still in Shen's arms. "Himiko..we.." Shen began, but the blonde simply shrugged her shoulders while turning around to head back inside. "Shit.." Shen muttered. He released Kate. "Can you grab Ceres? I...I need to talk to her.."

Kathrine shook her head. "Not really....at least...not for me...I mean, when I woke up...I was still completely in love with you... and despite everything, that hasnt changed at all" She said while wiping her eyes again. Kathrine nuzzled her head against his chest as he pulled her into a close hug. She looked up just as he leaned down to place another kiss on her lips. Her hues softened before closing as she leaned up into the kiss. She smiled and looked at Ceres. The little girl was in her own little world at the moment. Kathrine couldnt help but wonder if she was about to wake up from a dream

Shen paused. Her tears..they were tears of joy right? As she gazed up at him, he could tell by her smile that she was happy. "I think we should just start over. Tho, that might be difficult having a baby and all. Still, I feel like we need a completely fresh beginning if this is going to work between us. Its going to be hard...and there might be times when we feel like strangling each other..but I'm willing to try. I'm honestly willing to do whatever it takes." Shen replied softly as he held Kate in his arms. He leaned forward planting another soft, yet passionate kiss on her lips. "Besides, we have to set a good example for a certain someone. We cant have our baby girl think that all relationships have to be dysfunctional."

"Awesome, I cant wait to try their food" She said happily. When they arrived back to the cabin Kathrine slowly got out, She was going to get Ceres but when she saw Shen opening the back door Kathrine headed toward the cabin. She paused and turned as he asked her to come back and walked toward him. "Is the seat belt jammed?" she asked as she stepped closer. What he did next completely caught her off guard. Her violet hues completely widened, her hands grabbed his arms, but made no attempt to push him away. Her cheeks turned red as he pulled back making her violet hues stand out against the red in her cheeks. She stared at him in complete shock as he stumbled over his words. Tears quickly came to them and she wiped her hands against her face. She sniffled softly. "Th-thank you" She whimpered, a smile on her lips as she looked back up at him. He didnt want to exclude her completely from his life

"Yes, they were." Shen replied softly. He looked over towards Kate. She hadn't said too much either. It made him wonder what she was thinking about. "I know a place. Its a little out of the way, but the breakfast is really good." Shen stated. When they arrived at the cabin, Shen got out the car. He was about to take Ceres out of her car seat, but paused for a moment. "Katherine..could you come here for a moment?" he asked softly. When she got close enough, Shen stepped forward and lightly cupped her cheeks with his hands. He leaned forward placing a soft, yet passionate kiss on her lips. They hadn't said much in the car...so maybe this way was better. When he pulled back, Shen's cheeks turned a light shade of red. "Um..that is..I'm sorry. I falsely accused you of keeping Ceres' birth from me...and...I said allot of mean things...and I've been treating you very poorly. I-I just...wanted to show you...that I'm not mad, well...I am...but its just that...its a little hard to just dump all the anger I've built up during the past months...b-but that doesn't mean..that I..dont want you in my life..Katherine."

Kathrine wasnt making as many connections, all she knew was She at least had one witness to her trying to call him at least. But she figured he was still mad and hated her for running off on him. On the ride hope Kathrine had leaned her seat back. "Hmm....pancakes were so good" she said with a bright smile. She was looked out her window, her hand resting on her lap as she watched the scenery go by. "Maybe we can do this in the city too...go out for pancakes once a week" She said with a smile.

Shen handed Ceres over. Stacy seemed like an ok person, a bit talkative, but still ok. As she spoke, Shen's heart began to crumble. "So...it was true.." Shen thought to himself. Kate really had tried contacting him. All the hate that Shen had stored up during the past 7 months was misplaced. In fact, if not for Himiko, Shen probably would been able to see his child born in person. Shen shifted his eyes over towards Kate. He had confirmed her true feelings, but where could they go from there? After eating, Shen bid Stacy good bye. He bowed his head and thanked her for taking care of Katherine while he was away. With Ceres buckled up, Shen drove his family back towards the cabin. However, conversation on the way back was light at the most. Shen didn't say much, he simply kept his eyes on the road. What could he say? He had said some awful things to Kate. He had hated her so much...but somewhere inside...still loved her. Perhaps that was what had made being around her so hard while she was at the hospital. "What to do?" Shen thought to himself. He knew what Kate wanted and her feelings. Should he just jump in? Should they still go for therapy? Even if Himiko was the root of the problem their relationship would still take a while to recover..

"Oh deary, have you been holding out on him?" Stacy said and Kate tilted her head and smiled. She didnt know what the hell was going on at all. Stacy sat the in a booth sitting next to Shen. "May I? My youngest is five, but boy do I love babies" she said wanting to hold Ceres. "Oh goodness. Well Katie always looked really sad, heart broke really. I mean her friend Jake is a good kid and all, he did a good job tending to her n such but, when ever he'd leave her here to run some errands that when she'd open up about you. Poor gal. Said she'd try contacting you once or twice a month, but could never get through, She guessed your unit was always movin'. Like oh my, when she found out it was a gal, ohh I fought with her to try callin and tellin' ya but she couldnt get connected. Broke her heart all over again" Stacy said. Oh she was a talker. "Was going on about how you's a doctor n such, said you had the warmest of hearts and kindest of smiles. But she was worried bout the fight ya'll got in" She said. "Never told me what it was about, I assumed it was bout you leavin while she was carrying" Stacy said. Kathrine was blushing hard. "nothin to be ashamed of honey, your mans back safe n sound" Stacy said while nudging Kate. "Y-yeah..." Kate said with a blush.

"Nice to meet you." shen smiled and shook her hand. When she mentioned that Kate had already told her about him, Shen's smiled faded. "Oh..." Shen whispered, but then blinked twice. Uncle Sam? Shen's eyes shifted over towards Kate. He figured that Kate had bad mouthed him...but it looked like she had done the opposite. Blinking again, Shen followed Stacy inside. He wanted to know more about her and the conversations Kate had. "So what else did..Kate tell you?" he asked once they were seated. "I mean about us, ya know? I've been away fighting...war...and stuff...for so long. I wonder what my..uh..." Shen blinked and paused. What exactly was Kate to him? He would have asked Kate, but it wasn't like she'd remember. "My best friend has been up to." Shen smiled, thinking he had made a pretty smooth save.

"I'm Stacy, I run this Bar" She said and held her hand out to Shen. "Katie here has told me lots a bout you but I'll be honest and say I never took her seriously, but she was right, you are a looker" She said brightly. "Poor gal, Sorry to hear you were called away for so long, But when uncle sam calls one must answer" She said. Apparently Kate had fibbed why Shen was absent during her pregnancy with Ceres. "Sweet little gal, come in, both of ya'll" she said and headed into the bar.

Shen had Ceres in his arms. He looked up seeing the random woman approach Kate and hug her. Since Kate wasn't exactly the type to hug strangers...Shen figured that she must have known the women prior to losing her memory. "Hello." Shen smiled politely. "My name is Shen Li and this little lady is Ceres."

Kathrine silently mocked him as he prattled on about being right...which she new he was. When they got to the restaurant She stepped out and shut the door, She started walking toward the door when they were opened for her. "Oh my stars! Congrats honey!" A women said brightly and gave Kate a hug. "Uh...w-what for?" She asked. For the safe birth of course!" the women said happily and blinked. "Oh my my, is this the father? He is handsome! You werent jokin' hun" She said. Kate looked at the women in complete confusion.

"Haha you're a very poor liar. You've always been that way." Shen chuckled as he pulled off once more. "Its ok. I'm your doctor. Its not like I'm trying to feel you up or something. Besides, if its not done you'll regret it later. Worst case, you might not be able to hold Ceres without feeling sharp pains. I doubt you want that." Shen stated. When they reached the restaurant, Shen parked as close as he could so Kate wouldn't have to walk too far. "I'll grab the bubble queen." he chuckled while looking back at Ceres. "Hmm..yes I think that nickname will do nicely."

"Y-yes..." She said...completely lying. She hated touching her stomach as it was now even to apply the cream. Her cheeks redened as she crossed her arms. "I will not" She huffed, another terrible attempt at lying. She pulled her shirt down and sat back up, hugging her arms over her stomach. She hated her scars...she felt so ugly because of them

Shen leaned forward a bit. With her laid back, he gave her stitches a quick once over. "When you woke up, did you apply the cream you were given?" Shen asked. "IF you dont apply that cream every day your stitches will become uncomfortable." he replied softly. He reached forward, running his finger close to the stitches along her belly. "I'll do it when we get home. Knowing you...you'll blow it off." he smiled.

Kathrine tugged down at her shirt as he pulled over and told her to show him. "I'm fine....I didnt rip anything" She said. She looked off to the side and sighed, shifting her seat back and laid back raising her shirt, again only high enough for him to look at the staples. "See... I told you I'm fine..." She said softly

Shen's eyes almost immediately shifted down to her stomach. He pulled over again and put the car in park. "Raise your shirt." he stated as he turned in his seat. "Let me check those. I want to be sure that they're not tearing." Shen smiled, tho he was sure he'd have to fight Kate to get her to do what he wanted. "We can find that resturant and get a little something. However, we're not going anywhere until I check those stitches."

"Why should she" Kate chuckled while turning in her seat to look at Ceres. She gasped and winced, turning back around and held her stomach. "Damnitt...I cant wait...till this is healed" She growled. "Um...I remember we passed a bar/resturaunt on our way to the cabin. We could stop for something to eat" She mentioned

"How is 9 too strict? We're assuming she's 15. Hell..I didn't even get that..." Shen muttered. He looked in the rearview mirror catching Ceres' little bubbles. "She looks like she doesn't have a care in the world." Shen smiled. He leaned forward a bit gripping the steering wheel. "I made the right choice." he whispered, tho was more so talking to himself. "So, is there anywhere in paticular we should go? I've just been driving..but to be honest..I dont have a clue where I'm going. There's a gps in the glove compartment in front of you."

"Shen...your too strict" Kathrine chuckled. "It's something we can decide once she's older, depending on her personality at the time" Kathrine said. She knew better than anyone, pull the leash too tight and the one wearing the collar will just pull all the harder to escape. Ceres was blowing little bubbles in the back seat, she was completely amusing herself
