You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Shen took the picture and stared at it for a few minutes. He recognized it and even remembered the exact moment Kate had taken it. He had been asleep and hadn't found out about it till later. "Do me a favor.." Shen whispered and handed back the photo to Josh. "Hold onto this. I have a feeling I'll need it after she gets her memorys back. Kate...she wont be happy. There's problaly gonna be allot of screaming and a few items might even get throne." Shen sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. "So just hold onto this. While she's venting she wont wanna hear anything I have to say. Perhaps once she cools down you can show her this."

"Yeah, its good right?" He asked with a smile and took another drink of his. He looked up at Shen asked about Kate's drinking. "Well...something like that. It wasnt like she was drunk every night...maybe 2-3 times a month, we'd come home from class and would find an almost empty bottle of rum next to her. She'd be muttering how she never wanted to see you, how she hated you and a bunch of other things negitive about you....but as she'd continue to rant she'd start crying....she'd constantly ask Jazz why you didnt call or come back for her...asking if it was something she had done...." He said and walked over to the sink and dug through a drawer. "Here...its the only image of you two I was able to save from her ripping" He said and handed them a photo of Kate and Shen, It was the very first picture she had taken of the both of them together. "She doesnt know I hid it..." He said softly

"Sure. A drink would be great." Shen sighed softly as he stepped into the kitchen. Sure, it really didn't bother him too much if Jazz thought negatively of him, but it was still allot to deal with. "I know she cares about Kate. Thats what makes it hard tho.." Shen sighed softly. He took the glass from Josh and took a few sips. "Mm..is this coconut rum?" Shen asked, his face brightening a little. As he continued to drink tho his facial expression grew more grim. "Hey...was what she said right? I mean...did Kate develop a drinking problem during the year we were apart?"

((Jazz is the one who went to her room, Josh is still in the living room))

Joshua looked up at Shen as he walked out. He rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry...bout all that." He said and let out a light sigh. "Wanna drink?" He asked as he turned and headed for the kitchen. He pulled out some rum and a couple of glasses and filled them with some ice. "It...may take Jazz awhile to warm up to you... they way she sees it...you have to get the normal Kate to forgive you before she's willing to lighten up on you" He said and handed Shen the drink. "Just...dont pay her any mind....I know it's hard, but...She's just worried for Kathrine's sake." He said

Shen smiled softly as Kate started dozing off. He was about to lay down and take a nap with her when his ears picked up the sounds of Jazz and Josh fighting. At first, he wasn't sure what the fight was even about but he figured it had to be pretty tense since the roommates seemed to get along most of the time. "I'm gonna lay you down." Shen whispered and rolled Kate off his shoulder and onto her bed. He got up and walked into the living room just in time to hear Josh slam the door. He hadn't picked up on the major points of the fight but he had heard his name mentioned. He stood in the doorway of Kate's room, his eyes on Jazz. He was silent tho. What could he say anyway? Part of him understood why she hated him so much, but the other half felt that Jazz was taking her opinion of him to the extreme.

"Heh heh, Oh...I'm keeping them... but I think the first one will be perfect in the locket" she said with a bright smile. She set the camera down and curled herself up against him. "That lady at the store today was right....I think we do make a cute couple' she said with a soft smile as she closed her eyes as she leaned against him. "Hm....think....I'm gonna nap" she said softly as she dozed off. Before Shen would have a chance to Joshua and Jazz started fighting in the other room. Quiet enough to not wake Kathrine, but loud enough for Shen to hear.

"Damnitt Joshua, how can you sit there and just let him fool her like this again" Jazz growled. "Why cant you give the guy a chance, your being so stubborn you refuse to see he's actually being sincere" Josh yelled back. "Did you forget all those fucking nights of us coming home to her drunk with a thing of rum or fucking voldka almost empty! How she'd be cussing his name up until she was in tears begging her phone to ring" Jazz yelled. "Of course I havent, but Jazz, he's a broken man too, he has to deal with his own shit in his own life" Josh said. "I dont give a fuck! She was fucked up before they met and he went and fucked her up even more" Jazz growled. "Enough Jazz, what happens between those two is gonna happen be it good or bad, so deal with it!" He yelled Jazz walked to her room and shut the door. Ending that argument

"W-What???" Shen blinked, his face suddenly turning a very dark shade of red. He peeked over her shoulder at all the photos. They were..pretty steamy to say the least. "Well...I guess there's no need to take them over." he laughed softly while rubbing the back of his head. "I guess the real question is which do you wanna use for the locket? Perhaps...one of the not so hot ones would be best. Though, we could keep these too."

Kathrine smiled and blinked, not expecting the kiss. She closed her eyes, returning his kiss, wrapping her arms around him as he deepened it. She moaned softly in return to his before looking up at him. "I-I had it on multi shutter..." She said with a blush as she fetched the camera and sat back in his lap. The camera had gotten the first picture as well as their entire make out

"Cheese." Shen whispered, his dark brown eyes softening as he gaze down into hers. His arms wrapped tightly around her frame. After the flash, shen leaned in capturing her lips in a long heated kiss. He knew that she'd want to see how the photo came out, but for now he simply wanted to feel her lips against his. He moaned softly, now really getting into the kiss, but pulled back "How do you think the photo came out?" he asked, his lips gently nipping her bottom one. "Why dont you go grab it and lets see?"

Katherine chuckled and made a face as if she had to think about his question. "Of course I like you more than the pasta" She said with a bright smile. She looked up at him as he held the locket in his hands. "Ah, thats a great idea" She said with a smile, turning and went digging through some of her things. "I know...I saw a camera in here...somewhere' she said and pulled out a very nice nikon slr camera. "Found it" She said with a bright smile. She set it up on her desk and hit a timer for it after telling Shen where to sit. She walked over and sat on his lap and looked up at him with a soft smile. "Say cheese" She said, but didnt look away from his eyes

"Thats fine." Shen whispered softly. He leaned down pressing his lips against Kate's cheek and then her neck. "I'm curious tho, do you like me more than say...the pasta I made?" he chuckled and released her from his embrace. He moved in front of her so he could get a better look at the locket. "You know maybe we should take a photo of us and put it in. That way when you do get your memories back you'll see that there's at least something around that proves our feelings."

Kathrine looked at the necklace on her in the mirror. She smiled softly and leaned back against him as he embraced her. A soft blush crossed her cheeks as he told her he loved her. She looked down, wishing she could say the same, but she didnt know. "I...really like you...that all I can say for now" she said softly, lifting her hands up and placed them a top of Shen's

"I know.." Shen whispered. He closed his eyes and leaned down to plant a soft kiss against the nape of her neck. "I wont leave. I've already done that...and I know better." Shen replied softly. He turned her body slightly with his hands so she'd be able to see her reflection within the mirror. "Ah..this locket really suits you." Shen smiled happily. He was glad he had spent the extra money. "I'll be right here..I wont go anywhere." he replied softly while his arms wrapped around her, pulling her back into his firm chest. "I love you Kate. I know you cant say it back...but I want you to know that."

Kathrine's own smile faded. "Shen....if my memories do come back....will....will I still remember the me I am now?" She asked looking at him. "If I dont...and I make you leave....will you?" She asked looking at him with soft eyes. she turned around as he took the necklace. She moved her hair for him. "I think.....I dont think i'd want you to go....not really...I'd...I'd want you to fight for me" She said softly

"With everything." Shen smiled, tho it faded shortly after. "There was...the incident on the boat and I know that I seriously scared you back when you were trying to keep me from killing that mafia guy Lin and I tracked down. I'm sure...there will be more than just a few problems when you regain your memories, but I just felt the need to thank you for still wanting to start fresh even though you're aware of the pain I've caused you." Shen whispered softly. When she hugged him, his smile returned and he wrapped his strong arms tightly around her body. "Here let me put it on you." Shen chuckled. He released her from his embrace and moved around her so he could put the necklace on.

Kathrine smiled as she helped Shen clean up, humming softly. As he pulled her into her room she lightly blushed as he removed his shirt. She looked up at him with soft hues as he walked up to her and pressed his lips to her own. She returned his kiss briefly before looking at him as he told her he had something for her. "Being patient? For what?" She asked and looked at the box. She opened it and her eyes widened, her right hand covered her mouth. "This...its the necklace from the store" she said in a gasp and looked at him with a smile. "Shen...Thank you so much" she said and wrapped her arms around him. "Its beautiful!" She said happily

"No thanks needed." Shen smiled, tho he did appreciate Kate's help with the clean up. Once they were done he looked up. Josh and Jazz were busy. Now was a good time right? He dried his hands and pulled Kate into her room. He took off his flour covered shirt and tossed it into the hamper before closing the door. "Kate.." Shen smiled warmly. He walked up to her, his smile growing wider as he came to plant a kiss on her soft lips. "I have something for you. Call it..another thank you..for being patient." he whispered and dipped his hand into his pocket. Luckily, the flour from the bread hadn't gotten to the box. "Open it."

Kathrine helped herself to seconds while Joshua helped himself to thirds. Jazz had only eaten the one serving, her excuse being she wanted to lose weight. As Shen started to do the dishes Kathrine walked over and stood beside him, helping him rinse and dry. "I can help clean as thanks for an amazing meal" She said with a smile up at him. Joshua grabbed himself and Jazz an ice creme and walked back into the living room

"I see." Shen whispered, his eyes widening a bit. The school certainly had a range of talent. The dinner was actually going smoothly. The group somehow managed to eat without anyone getting into a major fight. When they were done, Shen rose to his feet ready to clean up. He'd need to put a little force into scrubbing the pot he had used to cook the pasta. "IF anyone wants deserts there are ice cream bars in the freezer." he called from the sink. There was a small smile spreading over his lips. He was trying to decide when would be the right time to give Kate her gift.

"Hey!" Kathrine laughed and lightly pushed his shoulder as she dusted herself off. She grabbed her plate and walked over to the table and sat down, taking a bite of the spaghetti and her eyes lit up. "Oh...my god..." she said with wide eyes. "You should be a chef!" She said. Joshua took a bread as did Jazz. Kathrine grabbed a piece and took a bite. "Hm, well I'm into neurological studies" Joshua said. "Like I said before" "And I'm studyin to become a pediatrician" Jazz said simply, and without a growl as she ate

"Really?" Shen smirked and turned rubbing some of the flour on his arm over her shirt. "Now we match." he laughed and turned back around to finish washing his hands. After he was done he took his place at the table to the right of Kate. "Hope everyone is hungry. There's plenty of bread." Shen smiled. He reached forward passing the basket over to Josh since he was sitting to his left. "So, what kind of medicine are you two interested in?" Shen asked, his eyes shifting between Jazz and Josh as he ate.

Joshua blinked as he smelled the amazing aroma of garlic and pasta. Kathrine and Jazz could smell it too. When he announced it was done Kathrine jumped over Jazz and ran into the kitchen. "Hmm... it smells so good" Kathrine said while fixing herself a small plate. Jazz walked in and helped herself to a plate as well, as did Joshua. Kathrine set her plate down before taking a bite and walked up to Shen patting him down. "Heh, you look like a ghost" she chuckled

Shen stayed focus on what he was doing. IF he allowed Jazz to get to him he'd never get anywhere with Kate. He did however look up when he heard the sound of Josh's voice. "No no, pasta is almost ready." he smiled. In addition to making his own marinara sauce, Shen had also baked fresh garlic bread to go with the pasta. He removed the lid from the pot and the luscious scent of garlic and herbs filled the tiny appartment. "Foods done!" he announced and walked over to the sink to wash his hands. Rolling and kneading the yeast for the bread had left most of his shirt and pants covered in a thin layer of white dust.

"Oh-ho, boy got back bone" Jazz hissed with a grin. "we'll see how it all plays out playa" She she said and walked out into the living room. "Hey gurl!" She said with a bright smile and sat in fron of Kate on the floor. "Hey can I get one of yer killer shoulder rubs?" She asked. "Um..I think I read some books on massages while I was in China..." Kathrine said and gave it a try while Shen cooked. Josh walked in. "Jazz chew you out again? Sorry about her" He said. "Need any help in here?" He asked

"Ok..." Shen frowned, now having had enough of her attitude. He meant her over at the fridge but kept his voice down. "First of all, I dont need or want your approval. I'm just trying to thank you for allowing me to stay here. Second, I dont need to suck up to you. I understand that I hurt Kate on multiple occasions. To be frank..." Shen huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I dont give a damn what your opinion of me is. However, Kate likes you which is why I kept silent. Dont mistake my silence for a state of passiveness tho. I intend to stay by Kate's side..even after she gets her memory back. Thats all there is to it." Shen stated before he returned to the stove and took out a large pot. He was gonna make some killer 5 star worthy pasta.
