You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine slowly walked in following Shen closely. When he stopped to talk to the man she walked up beside him and wrapped her arms around his as her eyes came to meet the man as he leered at her. She hid herself again Shen as the man smiled at her. "N-no I don't think so" she said. She felt uneasy. She was becoming more and more nervous as she took in the scummy surroundings of the apartment and the man himself. Hr arms lightly squeezed Shen's arm. "I... Think we should look somewhere else" she said while looking up at Shen with timid hues. She couldn't understand why she felt so scared. But something was wrong.

"I guess there's no harm in taking a look." Shen sighed as he led her in. Inside the apartment didn't look too much better. Shen walked into the main office and the first thing he spotted was beer cans scatted all over the desk and floor. The room reeked of cigars. Sitting the behind the desk was a fat crude looking man with greasy slicked back hair. He was wearing a dirty pair of slacks and a white wife beater that had beer stains scattered over the top. Looking up, the man's cold eyes sent Shen a long glare. "What da ya want ya damn chinc?" he spat...literally. The man was chewing tobacco and had a 'spitting cup' sitting in front of him. When he saw Kate come in after shen, his eyes softened a bit. Perverseness formed within his dark pools. "Well well what have we here?" he smiled while leaning forward a bit. Shen's eyes narrowed sharply. He didn't like the way the owner was looking at Kate. It was the same exact way her uncle would look at her, as if she were nothing but a tool for making money, a sex toy.

"I came to answer the ad you placed online...and I'll beg you not to refer to my race by such terms." Shen growled. "That right?" the fat man grinned and slowly sat back in his seat. His eyes never left Kate's body. He was mentally stripping her. His dark grin widened slightly. Oh the things he would do to her if he got the chance. "Well we've got some rooms open. You'll have to pay the first three months in advance tho. Cant have you foreigners scamming me." he grunted before grabbing a half empty can of beer and chugging it. "Hey sweet heart..have we met before? I feel like I've seen that cute lil face of yours somewhere before..." he stated and leaned back a little to get more comfortable. He had definitely seen Kate's face before, but he had no idea where. Maybe it had been online or something.

Kathrine chuckled as she was pulled. When they got to the apartment she blinked and looked at it. "U-um....well....maybe its nicer on the inside?" She said but more so said it in the form of a question. Though she had held onto him a bit tighter. Something about the place...or the appearence of the place scared her

Shen smiled brightly as they walked out of her apartment. He closed his eyes letting a hard chill run down his spine after a cold breeze rushed by. "I think we might need to buy some coats soon." Shen shivered. As a soldier he had learned to deal with the harshness of China's winters, but that didn't mean he enjoyed the cold. "Hmm lets see.." he whispered and pulled the note he had stuffed into his pocket out with his free hand. "This way." he smiled, pulling her slightly. As much as Shen doubted the future, he had to admit that all of Kate's bright smiles made it hard to focus. What was wrong with living in the present? She was happy and so was he. When they reached the apartment Shen's smile dropped like a six ton brick. "This...is it?" Shen blinked. The apartment looked like it should have been condemned. Actually, it looked allot like Kate's old home, but Shen kept that little detail to himself. "Should we go in??"

Kathrine linked her arm with his. "C'mon" She said with a bright smile as she dragged him out the door. Kathrine was hugged onto him with the biggest of smiles. In her views she was living the perfect life right now. She was with one of the greatest guys she had ever met, there were no problems between them as she was now. "So where's the first one?" She asked

"Yeah...I guess..." Shen sighed, only deeper this time. He loved his mother but sometimes she was nothing but trouble. He also loved his father, but if he was coming too there was probably a 70% chance that the two of them would end up in some sort of fight. "Yeah I'm ready." Shen stated as he bagged their lunches. When he saw Kate smile his face instantly brightened. Before they left he made sure to grab the list of apartments that he and Josh had looked up. The first few were within walking distance, but the rest would require about a 15-30 minute bus ride

"You said she was coming next week" She called from her room. as she touched up her make up. She walked into the kitchen The yoga pants literally stuck to her every curve. She went to the fridge and leaned over, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. "Ready to go?" She asked and looked at him with a smile

Shen had just about finished up making their lunch when she finished up her shower. He was wearing a pair of slightly faded black jeans and a long dark blue wool sweater. It was around November and so far NY had been blessed by warm weather but that was going to change quickly. The forecast was already calling for snow for all of next week. "Wait..thats the week mother said she'd visit." Shen blinked. The image of being trapped in their apartment with just him, Kate, and his parents honestly depressed him. With any luck, his mother would behave when she came to visit.

Kathrine washed herself up and got out, wrapped a towel around herself. She walked to her room and started going through her clothes to pick out an outfit to wear for the day. It was suppose to be a little more chilly, so maybe a sweater? She put on a pair of black yoga pants and a loose pitting grey sweater. She dried her hair and brushed it out letting it fall over her shoulders.

"You're the meanie..denying me the right to peek..." Shen pouted as she brushed up against him. He turned, watching her walk down the hall towards her room and smiled. Things were going pretty well, but it was hard for him to get 'lost' in the moment. He knew it wouldn't last long. Actually it was that notion which made his day the most stressful. Sighing, he turned towards the frig and opened it. Lucky for him there was plenty of lunch meat inside. When Shen had been a college student he had heard rumors of how hard it was for normal students to keep food in the frig. Naturally, his family was rich so he had never really encountered the problem himself.

"Ah, meanie" She said with a playful pout. She finished up what was on her plate and got up. "I'm going to jump into the shower then" She said with a smile. She ran her fingers through her hair as she walked around him, brushing against him. "No peeking" She said with a smiled and walked to the bathroom and shut the door. She turned on the shower and undressed, stepping in under the spray of water

ic: "Sandwiches sound good." Shen smiled brightly. Part of him wanted to avoid being clingy since apparently doing so had drove her off. However..if she wanted to come then it was ok to bring her...right? Smiling, Shen leaned down giving her one more kiss on the cheek before releasing her from his embrace. "Actually why dont I make the sandwiches? You made breakfast for us already." he stated before leaning down to steal one of two pieces of bacon she had left. "Yum."

Kathrine blinked as he got up and walked over toward her. She smiled as he embraced her and tilted her head back against him, chuckling softly as his lips brushed her ear. "That's okay, I can make us some sandwiches. Maybe we can find a park near by and have a picnic" She said while looking up at him.

Shen stopped eating. He gazed up at Kate with a soft smile and got up from his seat. He walked behind her chair and wrapped his arms loosely around her from behind. "Nothing would make me happier." Shen whispered softly. He leaned down, lightly nipping her ear before placing a soft kiss on her cheek. "I dont know how long I'll be out tho. We should probably bring a lunch so we dont have to waste money eating out."

Kathrine looked up with a confused look as he asked if she'd be okay. "Oh...yeah I'll be alright....But...I kinda thought I was gonna go with you" She said softly. "Did....you not want me to?" She asked innocently while looking at him with soft eyes.

"Ah I see." Shen smiled. The pancakes were practically melting in his mouth. They were better then IHOP! "So, are you going to be ok here on your own?" he asked as his gaze shifted up towards her. Shen wasn't sure if he wanted to leave her alone in the apartment just yet. Sure mentally she was better, but if anything happened Shen wouldn't be around to help. Actually, perhaps it would have been better just to take her with him. They had really enjoyed each other's company the other day.

"Hm, they already left for classes." She commented after returning his kiss. She smiled hearing the sounds of approval as he started to eat. She slid off his lap to let him eat and walked over to her chair and began to eat. "Not bad...if I do say so myself" She said with a smile as she took a forkful of pancakes and started to chew them. "Hmm" She smiled and licked the syrup from her lips before taking another bite

"Well as much as I'd like to stay here...I do need a place of my own. Perhaps when the time is right you can move in with me if and when I find something close." Shen stated as he held her in his lap. He leaned in placing another kiss on her soft lips. "So, will your roommates be joining us or are they already gone?" he asked and turned ready to dig in. He started on the sausage and moaned softly as the meat melted into his mouth. It had just the right amount of spices inside giving it a nice firey taste to it

Kathrine smiled happily at his approving stare of the food she made. "Oh, do I make them good then? I was just following the instructions from a book" She said. She had returned his kiss and nuzzled into him. "Well I hope you find something close. It's going to suck not getting to wake up with you next to me" She said with a smile.

"Breakfast?" Shen blinked. He followed Kate quickly out of the bathroom. He hadn't expected her to cook so he had a big grin on his lips. He walked into the kitchen and took a seat at the table. "Wow...I haven't had your pancakes in...a very long time." Shen blinked. He could feel his mouth starting to water as the scent of the food filled his nose. He looked up at Kate with the hugest of smiles and pulled her down into his lap for a brief, yet passionate kiss. "Thanks. I have a feeling I'll need a big breakfast today. I'm going out to look at a few apartments."

Kathrine was in the kitchen making some pancakes by the time Shen woke up. She had just put on the sausage when he walked into the bathroom. While those were finishing up she got out two plates and glasses and filled them with some orange juice then stacked 4 pancakes onto each plate. She turned off the burner and put three sausages on each of the plate too and set them on the table. She smiled and patted herself on the pack, she had made the pancakes fresh from scratch rather then using a boxed version. She walked out of the kitchen and peeked into the bathroom. "Breakfast is ready" She said with a bright smile

Shen slept for about an hour and a half before he got up. At first he didn't even notice the pictures. He headed straight for the shower and got dressed after he was done. There was allot to do today. He planned on checking out a few appartments Josh and him had looked at the other day. Ideally, he wanted to find his own place before his mother forced him into one of their penthouses on the better side of town. Tho moving into such a luxurious home would be easier, shen would also be further away from Kate. He wanted to keep their distance to about a 30 minute car ride if he could. Sighing softly, Shen gazed into the mirror running a brush through his jet black hair. He hadn't cut it in a while so he'd have a short pony tail soon.

"Night" Josh said as Shen drank another shot and headed back to Kate's room. Moments after Shen laid down, Kathrine turned towards him, her body cuddling up to the heat of his, her expression was relaxed but...you could tell she was happy as she nuzzled her head against the pillow. When Morning came, Kathrine woke up and slowly pulled away from Shen to let him get more sleep while she printed out some of the photo's from last night, placing the one of them smiling at one another in her locket with a soft smile

"Yeah..I know." Shen whispered. He took one more glass of rum and down it before thanking Josh and returning to Kate's room. The rum wasn't nearly as strong as the special brew he had drank the other night so Shen barely felt a buzz. Sighing, he laid down next to Kate. It was kind of hard to enjoy the time he had with her when he knew sooner or later reality would come back to bite him in the butt. His soft brown eyes shifted over Kate's body. She looked so peaceful sleeping, as if she hadn't a single care in the world..

"Hm? Sure" He said as he took the photo back and hid it under the sink again. "Yeah... She is a stubborn one.... Dont be surprised if she chases you out of here." He said as he poured himself another drink and offered Shen another if he wanted it. "Well...all you can do is enjoy the time you have with her now and prepare for the time that has yet to come...it wont be easy...but...give her some time...She'll begin to miss you all over again and go to you" He said
