You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

"Thats fine." Shen whispered returning her embrace. The fact that she was able to hug him without flinching filled him with relief. "You can protect yourself. When you're in new york I wont be there. You'll have to look out for yourself, defend yourself. Actually I'm not sure where I'll be when all this over...but you can assume it will be at least a few weeks before we see each other. I'll make sure you have everything you need. Food, money, transportation...everything." Shen replied softly and pulled back some. "Let me do this Kate. I need to...if I dont..." he whispered and paused again looking down. "I just need to.."

Maybe it was because she finally noticed his strong....obsession with needing to keep her safe that was bringing her out of her own mental crisis. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly. "But.... you know I'm not always....someone who wants to be protected....I'm....I'm used to protecting myself too" She said softly

"I-I cant..." Shen whispered and pressed his lips softly against her finger. He took hold of it and pressed his lips against her hand. "Its the only way I know how to function. Relying on others too much...especially those close..." he began, but then paused a violent images flashed before his eyes. He shook his head firmly and wrapped his arms securely around her body. "I'll take on the world if I have to. Things are better this way.."

Kathrine lifted her hand and pressed her fingers to his lips to stop him from saying any more. "...I wont be....but...you have to stop....putting everything on yourself..." She said softly. She was starting to understand why his father had made his point about her being too much trouble for him... she was a broken girl...one...that with a lot of effort...would some day maybe be saved.... unlike his Yoko.

"This isn't up for debate." Shen frowned while still cupping her cheeks. He wanted her eyes on his while they speaking. "All you have to worry about is showing the people in new york just how brilliant you are. Thats all I want you focusing on understand? Leave everything else to me. I will do ANY and everything it takes to make sure you're taking care of. You.." Shen paused and suddenly dropped his gaze to the ground. "You...You wont be another Yoko..."

Kathrine blinked as her gaze turned to him. She hadnt flinched for the first time....that was at least a good sign. She looked down and nodded as he told her to trust him.... in truth, he was the only one she did trust... How could she not when he was scrificing so much for her. "No...leave......leave W-Williams alone.....I-I dont....want you to get ....in that kind of trouble....and wind up...d-deported" She said

"Ok. Would you like anything inside your eggs? Maybe some tomatoes or bacon bits?" shen asked and pulled a small carton of eggs out of the fridge. He turned, seeing her gaze and hearing her thoughts. "Enough Kate." he frowned and walked over in front of her. He cupped her cheeks forcing her to look up at him. "Trust me ok? Trust only me and no one else. If I say everything will be fine then everything will be fine. I'll get you to new york, I'll make sure your uncle cant follow you, and I'll pay Williams back for what he did to you. Trust me Kate. You have nothing to worry about."

An omelet sounded kinda good. "Um....c-could I have some...scrambled eggs and toast?" She asked while leaning against the counter, her hues shifting over toward the door, half expecting her uncle to come barging through the doors once again. "He's....not going...to give up...." She said quietly as her violet hues shifted down to the floor

"Alright come on." Shen replied softly and offered her his hand. When they got downstairs his parents were indeed gone. He walked her into the kitchen and had her leaned against one of the counters. "Alright what would you like?" he asked and turned towards the frige. "Do you want me to cook you something? Maybe an omelet or something?" Shen asked and turned back around. She didn't look like she needed anything super heavy

"o-okay..." She said and looked down. She usually would have been stubborn and argued the matter, but like he said, her mental state was in a place it normally wasnt. She nodded at his question. "I-I can walk" She said as she stood up. She didnt want anything fancy she had some toast, or maybe a bowl of cerel in mind

"This isn't up for debate. Your mental state is in a critical stage." Shen frowned and blinked when he heard the sounds of her stomach growling. "hungry are we?" he smiled and pulled her up so she was sitting upright. "Do you think you can walk? We'll go down stairs and get you something hot to eat." Shen smiled. His parents should have been gone by now, though he doubted that they had left the building. Most likely they were staying in a guest room on the same floor.

Kathrine slowly shook her head while looking at him. "N-no....you cant s-skip work because of m-me" She said softly and curled herself up against him. "I've had....too many distractions...t-to have time to get b-better...." She said softly. "I'll be o-okay" She said and slowly sat up. She was a little hungry. She had taken a few bites of the food he had cooked her for breakfast, but she was hungry again

"shhh its fine kate." Shen smiled gently down at her. He placed soft kisses on her cheeks and did just about everything he could think of to relax her. When she brought up his dad, Shen paused. He couldn't tell her what they were planning. She'd probably try to kill herself right then and there. "Listen Kate..you have to trust me. Everything is going to be fine. For the next two days it will just be me and you right here. I wont go into work. I wont leave you. I'll be right here beside you to chase the bad dreams away."

Feeling arms wrap around her made her nightmare feel all the more real. She began struggling against him up until she heard his gentle voice and her eyes opened. She looked at him and turned into him, wrapping her arms around his body. I-I'm sorry....i-it takes me a f-few days.... to regain m-myself......" She whimpered softly and looked up at him. "Y-your f-father...must hate me..." She whispered

"You wanna what???" Shen blinked and stared at his parents in disbelief. "Shen you have to trust me." Mei told him calmly. "Trust you? You want to drop Kate off right in front of her house! Do you know what her uncle will do to her? No, before that she'll kill herself. She's already told me that she refuses to go back to him." Shen stated. Genzi sat back closing his eyes. His mind was made up too. "I dont believe you two.." shen growled, honestly disappointed in both of them, but especially his mother. "I thought you liked Kate." he hissed. Mei sat back against the couch and crossed her arms over her chest. "You are my son. You are my top priority Shen. You're playign with fire. If this continues you could end up being deported. Just trust me. I promise that what I have in mind will be best for you and Kate." Mei explained. Shen refused to listen though. When he heard the sounds of Kate yelling in her sleep, he got up leaving his parents. He wanted into the room and took his place beside her on the bed. "Shhh. Its ok KAte. Its just me..." he whispered against her ear and wrapped his arms tightly around her body. "You're safe. No one will harm you."

Kathrine stired slightly as Shen removed himself from her embraced. She wrapped her arms around the pillow and buried her face into it, calming and falling into a deeper sleep as Shen's scent embraced her from the pillow. She slept soundly for about forty five minutes before she started to toss and turn from a bad dream. "No...g-g-get off m-me" She whimpered while rolling onto her side. "S-stop..." She cried softly

Shen continued to gently rock her. His soft voice filled the room telling her that she was safe and that everything would be alright. When she was finally asleep, he sighed in relief. It took some effort getting her to let go of his shirt though. Shen ended up replacing his body with his pillow. It was covered in his scent and would have to do until he got back. By the time he got downstairs both his parents were already there waiting. "we need to talk Shen." his mothered stated. Shen's eyes quickly shot over towards his dad. "You told her everything...didn't you?" he growled. "I had no choice. Your mother is good with people. I'm not." Genzi explained with a deep grunt. "Shen its.." she began only to be cut off by her son. "NO! It is a big deal. Kate really, really liked you. She respects you too. She didn't want you to know. She didn't want you to think that she was some broken dirty doll!" He yelled. His parents eyed one another. His mother calmly walked up to him and had him sit down on the couch. "Son relax. Its all going to be ok. I have a plan that will solve everything."

Her hues were locked on the door as Genzi left, afraid her uncle would come back in. As Shen tried to start calming her her eyes shifted and focused on him. Her nerves were a wreck, her body to its breaking point from the stress and anxiety. It was probably due to her body and mind's state that she fell asleep within a half hour, clinging to him tightly even as she slept

"Just...wait. Please, give us some time. I cant leave her like this. Let me put her to sleep first." Shen stated. Genzi let out a growl, but nodded and closed the door. Shen looked down at Kate smiling softly. It was almost like she was a child. He whispered softly in her ear that everything would be fine as he conitnued to rock her back forth in his arms.

Kathrine calmed down as he rocked her, sniffling now and then. When Genzi knocked and spoke she became tense all over again though, cowering against Shen. She wished a couple days would go by already...it didnt take all that long for her to regain herself and block out things she didnt want to remember....but she was having more distractions then she was used to

"Shhh." He whispered, trying his best to calm her. She had already been through so much. It wasn't fair! Why did Kate have to suffer so much? Shen gently laid her down into the bed, but he could see that she wasn't going to let go of him anytime soon. He decided to relax against the bed and simply rock her in his arms. After a while Genzi came back up, though he knocked before entering. "Shen your mother is on her way here. The three of us need to talk. You only have a small window before we wont be able to do anything to help you."

Kathrine continued to cry, still too startled by everything that had just happened. She held onto him tightly as he lifted her ad carried her back into the room. She refused to let go of him though. Her arm already had light bruises forming from where her uncle had been squeezing her. Her cried subsided but her tears continued to stream down her face as she kept her head burying against Shen's chest

Genzi let out a very deep sigh after the man left. He looked down at Shen, who had a vice grip around Kate's body. "W-Where are you going?" Shen asked. "To call your mother. She's better at these things then I am. I'm just a soldier." Genzi groaned as he stepped outside leaving Kate and Shen alone. "You ok? Did he hurt you?" Shen asked and ran his fingers down her body. He decided to scoop her up into his arms and carried her back upstairs. "Shhh. I promised I wont give you back to your uncle. I take you back to china if I have to..{"

The Officer took the phone before hanging up. "Let's go Burrows, we have to leave" He said and grabbed Burrow's shoulder. "Fuck that, I want my neice back!" He yelled as Shen pulled her away. Burrows turned ready to go after Shen when Genzi got in the way. He glared up at the man as his friend pulled him out. Kathrine clung to Shen crying, It was times like this that she seemed like just a fragile little girl.

"This is a matter of international relations. Her guardians rights dont mean a thing." Genzi explained and sure enough, another officer came running inside with a phone in hand. They were ordered to leave immediately. Shen stormed forward grabbing hold of Kate and pulling her into his arms. His father stepped in front blocking Genzi's path. "Mr. Burrows was it? Perhaps we can meet in a neutral place to discuss returning her. Right now, I cant hand her over, not after you've stormed into private property. I'm sure you understand yes?" Genzi asked. The old soldier still had a few tricks up his sleeve. "I assure you, my son has no intentions on keeping a child from her guardian. All I ask is that you leave now peacefully so that we can come to terms." Genzi replied softy, though his eyes were still as cold as ice. Meanwhile, Shen pulled Kate back towards the steps. "Shh. He wont have you. I swear it." He told her.
