You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

"She's so beautiful.." Mei smiled proudly. She held Ceres securely against her chest. "Dont worry sweetie. I'll take good care of her. If you hear her crying just leave it to me." Mei whispered softly. Shen nodded as he grabbed the box and carried it down stairs into the spare room. It had already been set up for Kate's use but plans had changed. Mei followed Shen down stairs. She made herself comfortable on her new bed while she watched her son put the crib together. "So...I'm thinking your next child should definitely be a boy. Ever father needs at least one son to carry on the family name." Mei whispered. "Next?" Shen blinked while looking up from the floor. "How do you know there will be another?" He asked. Mei grinned. "Well first of all, you two cant keep your paws off eachother so I'm sure you'll put another bun into the oven soon enough. Second, she has the perfect hips for having kids, and third, I want at least two grandchildren. This isn't China Shen. You could have ten kids if you wanted."

Kathrine followed him down and smiled, walking up to Mei, handing Ceres over to her. "If she gets hungry there's three more bottles in the fridge for her, I'm going to make another while he's setting the crib up" She said as she leaned over and kissed Ceres's cheek. The baby girl cooed softly in her sleep and nuzzled against Mei's breast

A big smile formed on Shen's lips. He didn't deem himself to have a large ego, but hearing her turn down bringing toys in the bedroom definitely gave his ego a boost. "Ok. I'll get to work then." he stated while following her back down stairs. He had left the boxed crib by the couch. Meanwhile, Mei was standing in the kitchen drinking a tall glass of water. Her eyes were still a bit puffy. When she saw Shen, she quickly wiped her eyes to make sure that her tear trails were gone. "Let me have the princess." She smiled and placed her glass down onto the table. She stretched her hands out towards Kate. Shen smiled. He knew if anyone could make Mei feel better it would be Ceres. His mom adored babies.

"I-I'm not going to buy those kinds of things....besides you make the bedroom enticing enough" She said with a smile as she leaned down and softly pressed her lips against his. In the last week she had been doing good about putting her cream on, her wound was healing very quickly due to Shen's strict weight limits of what she was allowed to hold or carry. She didnt think he was slow in combat...but compared to his father...she could see his point. "Having a side hobby would be good" She said softly as she offered to take Ceres to he could assemble the crib

"Hand cuffs...what would we need those for??" Shen blinked feeling completely lost. However, when she mentioned baby making and how Mei was being...well...herself, Shen's cheek turned a little red. "Oh. Um..well..I'll leave those things to you." He blushed. He'd never been very good at going shopping for such a things. Himiko normally took care of all that, tho he made sure not to tell Kate that. As she walked up to him, Shen closed his eyes. He loved the feeling of her running her fingers through his hair. It made him relax. "Well..I'm a little stressed. I think my time apart from the army has caused my fighting skills to dull. My dad...he was right. I've gotten slow." Shen whispered. "I think I'll do something about that tomorrow..call in a favor. Until then, we can hand sleeping beauty over to my mom. I need to set up the crib too." Shen smiled while looking down at his daughter. She'd fallen asleep right in his arms.

Kathrine looked at him as he brought up shopping. "Um, unless you had furry handcuffs and restraints in mind..." She said rubbing the back of her head. "She uh....heh...was being your mom...trying to invite new ways of...baby making into the bed...she also said she'd be willing to take Ceres tonight so we can have some time alone" She said with a light blush and a smile. "She...seems okay....but you guys are better at hiding your emotions that I am" she commented. "How about you?...Are you okay?" She asked while walking up to him, running her fingers through his hair

"So is that a yes on the sex shop!!?" Mei called from the steps. She really liked Kate, she had after meeting her for the first time. She was thrilled that Kate had been the one to have Shen's child instead of Himiko. Just the thought of Himiko being brought into the family made Mei feel ill. Meanwhile, Shen was rocking Ceres gently in his arms. He looked up seeing Kate come through the door. "Did mom say something about shopping?" Shen blinked. "If so, there are few things I'd like you to pick up for me." he smiled, tho as usual had no idea what was going on or what his mom had been talking about. "So...how is she? You were down there for a while."

"Ah..w-well...maybe...it hasnt been...err...well I guess it has..." She corrected herself, she kept forgetting she lost the last two years of her life. Her face turned red again as she pulled back. "You are terrible!" She yelled but was smiling while blushing hard. She stood up and hugged Mei once more. "Lets focus on one kid for now" She laughed softly and headed back toward the stairs. "I'll be back with Ceres, Shen has to set up the crib still" She said and walked up stairs, her face beat red as she entered the room

"I think you mean future wife." Mei chimed. She knew why Shen didn't want to jump into marriage and was fine with his decision, but surely...someday he had to marry Kate. Smiling, Mei leaned in close and pressed her ruby red lips against Kate's ear. "You know while we're on the subject...there a couple of positions that are guarantied to give you another child. Now, its nice to have fun, but not all of those positions are good for producing kids. For example, Genshen and I did the backwards cowgirl a few times. It felt nice..but that was it. OH! Also make sure that you never substitute foreplay. It always good to get your engines nice and warm before you go for a drive right, heh?" Mei giggled into Kate's ear. She loved this, tho mainly because Kate was so easy to tease. "Ooooooh also, experiment with toys. Now, Gen is waaay too close minded, however you may be able to convince Shen to give them a try. I can recommend you a few. OH! I know! We can can go to a sex shop and pick you out a few things!"

"You know what I mean" Kathrine said with a smile, She believed Mei would spoil Ceres with everything and anything, but she also believed Mei would know when to show tough love and discipline the girl when needed. Kathrine's cheeks turned red as Mei offered to take Ceres for the night. "A-A mother isnt suppose to talk like that about her son to his girlfriend!" She said shyly, blushing hard

"Well I've got bad news for you." Mei grinned while wiping her eyes some more. Thankfully, her make up was still in tact, tho she wasn't too concerned about her looks at the moment. "As her grandmother I reserve the right to spoil her rotten." Mei chuckled. She nodded tho, understanding where Kate was coming from. "Very well. I'd love to babysit, anytime." she smiled brightly. "I suppose I'll take the room down stairs. Would you like Ceres to sleep with me? I'd hate for your child to wake up to the sounds of you getting busy with my son." she stated with a wide grin and leaned close giving Kate a gentle nudge with her elbow.

Kathrine couldnt help but wonder what it was that Mei didnt want Shen to know...but again it wasnt her place to push for such things. "Nonsense...You can stay here, besides I was going to ask about you maybe babysitting so Shen an I could get some alone time now and then" She said with a smile. "Your always welcome to see her, just um...dont spoil her too much as she gets older..." She said with a shy smile while rubbing the back of her head "Heh..."

Mei sobbed silently for the next few minutes. She knew exactly where her marriage had gone wrong and what had caused Gen to change. She just...couldn't bring herself to verbally admit it. Also, she didn't want Shen to hate himself. She loved her son more than anyone else in the world. If he ever found out the secret she'd been keeping...his entire life would change. "Ok...I'm fine now." Mei sniffled. She grabbed another tissue and blew her nose. "Um...Genshen will probably go back to Atlanta. We still have business there. I...I think I'll check into a hotel here in the city. I want to be close by. I hope you dont mind..but..I really want to be close to Ceres. I love her so much..a-and I want her to grow up knowing her grandmother.." Mei sobbed quietly. The last thing she wanted was to intrude on her son's life, but she'd been waiting for a grandchild for years.

Kathrine was of coursed shocked learning more about Shen's parents from his own mother...it...more or less made her feel more worthless...but the fact that she...such a high class person could look at her and be happy that she was with her son...made things a little better. As she paused Kathrine didnt feel right to push more out of her, it wasnt her place. She simply lightly squeezed Mei's hand,, to let the woman know she was there to listen, and wouldnt tell anything that wasnt hers to tell...

"Well, I came from a middle class family. After college I worked hard to earn a position in the government. Belong long I was working directly under China's Secretary of State." Mei explained. "Genshen came from a very traditional military family. Every man had severed at some point, most of which were high ranking officers. Genshen and I first meat at a government sponsored award ceremony for the military. He...He cornered me at a punch table. I remember feeling instantly turned on. Just his presence...and the look in his eyes. He was a man with ambition." Mei smiled weakly. "We started talking and before we realized it the ceremony was over..and we were rushing to get married. With his ambition, and knowledge of military contracts combined with my social kills and friends in the government...we sought to create a company that could produce high quality Chinese brand goods for the army. That was only a stepping stone tho. We expanded and as he expanded so did our production. We started producing cars, microwaves, soap..hell anything and everything really." Mei smiled. Her memories of the past were fond one..up to a certain point. "However..." She began, but paused to stare at the floor. "No...I cant say. If shen were to find out...his entire world would be destroyed..."

Kathrine held Mei's hand and listened to her. "What made you two decide to build a company together? Or was it something passed down to you two?" She asked, wondering what had made the man change so...It wasnt as if someone like Mei could have any man she wanted....no she chose Gen, so why had her turned his back on her? Kathrine couldnt help but wonder. Lobo walked up and rested his big head down on Kathrine's lap and licked at her hand that was holding Mei's.

"I'm sorry..." Mei whimpered. It had been a while since she had cried in front of anyone. Genshen demanded a strong wife, a strong partner. Of course, Mei fit his demands, but having to always suppress her feelings sometimes drove her crazy. "You know.." Mei whispered while grabbing a tissue to wipe her eyes. "My Genshen wasn't always so harsh. I mean, he's always been very traditional...but gods..when we first got married he was such a charmer. He always smiled. He...He did things that would make my heart flutter. I miss that Genshen. The man I have now...is nothing more than a shadow..of the man I fell in love with..

Kathrine had never expected to see Mei of all people cry. Seeing someone in need...seemed to give her strength to push her own fears and worries aside. "Your an amazing mother...hwo's done all in her power to bring up her son in a loving home....if not for you I doubt Shen would be the amazing man I love today...but then...we can't help who we fall in love with...can we?" She asked while wiping Mei's cheeks of her tears. She couldnt believe the man was as aweful as her uncle...he said and believed in horrible things...but he wasnt a man who'd rape his own flesh and blood was he? surely he had a heart somewhere inside him that cared for his wife and his only son.

Shen held Ceres tightly. Even though was he stressed he couldn't help but to smile as he gazed down at his baby girl. Meanwhile, Mei had her eyes closed. Her brown hues opened upon hearing the sounds of footsteps coming from the steps. She blinked, surprised that Kate had come to see her. Smiling, Mei wrapped her arms around Kate. She brought her right hand up and lightly ran her fingers through Kate's hair. "Dont worry about me." she whispered. "Right now your only responsibility is to take care of your daughter. Tho...if you really want to help...keep Shen occupied. My son has a bad habit of keeping his burdens to himself. That wont do, not with a new baby." Mei explained. As she spoke, her smile slowly began to fade. "Tho perhaps...thats due to the influence his father left. I never wanted him to enter the army. I fought...but perhaps...I didn't fight hard enough." Mei whispered. Suddenly, tears started flowing down her cheeks making her eyes puffy. "Oh god..am I a horrible mother? H-Have I dont anything to help him, anything to...to save him from cruel man I call my husband?"

Kathrine looked down. She had to do something....even if it was something that was building up, she had ended up being the trigger....She walked down stairs and found Mei. She walked up to her and wrapped her arms tightly around the woman. She burried her face into her long black hair. "If...theres anything...I can do" She whispered, hugging her tightly

"No..stay out of it." Shen whispered. He pulled his head from his hands. It wasn't fair to blame it all on Kate. "This...has been coming for a while. My mother...she wasn't happy. She wanted more children, but the company had to come first. She's very passionate about children. She grew up in a house with no siblings. She always dreamed of living in a home filled with lots of children, lots of siblings running around. Father knows that, but he turned his back to her dream." Shen whispered softly. He turned, now facing Kate. "Just let them work it out. You talking to my dad will do absolutely no good. Besides...after what he said to you...I dont want you talking to him alone...I'm sorry..but please just leave it.."

Kathrine blinked, "W-what?" She asked looking at him. Ceres yawned, giving her the chance to hand her to Shen. She made herself decent. "No...I'm not going to let me be the reason everything they've done in their lives go to waste because of me" She said. She'd face him again...he was scary as hell, but she'd die before allowing Shen's parent's to separate all because of her. "How long ago did he leave, I have to see him" She demanded, looking at Shen

Shen came back a few minutes later, his face completely blank. He sat down on the edge of the bed and released a long sigh. His parents had gotten into plenty of fights...but none this serious. "I think...they're getting a divorce. Mother said that his behavior was unacceptable. She said he could either accept you and Ceres...or he could live without her. Apparently father didn't take her seriously. S-She said that she'd gladly bankrupt the company and throw away everything she and my father worked for...if it meant being able to leave him." Shen explained. He leaned forward pressing his face into his hands. "You see..everything is tied up between them. Its a family company. A divorce would mean the end of everything. My mother would be given half of everything my they own...but dividing all that would be next to impossible. The company would crumble long before the divorce was done.."

Kathrine blinked and nodded, She sat up, picking Ceres up with her to let her continue feeding. "You are such a little glutton" She said while sliding her finger along Ceres's cheek. Ceres's tiny hand grabbed her finger and held on tightly while continuing her meal. Kathrine glanced toward the door, wondering if everything was okay

Shen smiled softly. He was about to tease her a little more, but paused when he realized that he hadn't a word from his parents down stairs. "I'm going to go check on things. Stay here." he whispered while getting up from the bed. He made his way down stairs to his surprise, he found his mother laying on the couch. She was spinning her wedding band around her finger, staring at it as she were in a trance. "Mother..are you ok?" he asked. Mei's eyes shifted over towards her son. "Sorry for hitting you.." she whispered, her gaze now back on her ring. "It was expected." Shen smiled. He moved over towards the edge of the couch and sat down. "How is Katherine?" Mei asked. "She's fine. She's feeding Ceres right now." Shen stated. Mei nodded softly. Shen stared at her. IT was like she was in a different world. "So...I didn't hear any yelling..." Shen blinked. Mei shook her head. "No..thats because I didn't yell.." she whispered. Shen was stunned. His mother always yelled at his father whenever he did something over the top.
