You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

Kathrine's hues widened as she lost all strength and fell to her knee's, her body frozen in terror as she stared up at him. Her mind went blank the next few moments before she felt Someone pulling her up. She pulled away, her eyes holding nothing but terror before she realized it was Lin and slowly calmed. When Shen brushed past them though, her body went tense and she hugged the side of the door trembling. Did...she really want to go back to the states with him? She wasnt sure now... She slowly made her way back to the lobby where the other lagoon members and Chang were. She had lost all the color in her face. She stumbled to a chair and sat down, running her hands through her hair. Maybe she could ask Lin...for a seat away from Shen...on the plane

When she touched his hand, Shen flinched and tore his hand away. He raised it above her head ready to drive the blade down into her eyeball, but stopped just a foot before impact. His hand was shaking. His grip had been strong just a second ago. "Dont touch me again.." he warned her, it would be first and last one. Turning back, he picked the man's chair up so he was at least sitting up straight. "Who is behind the bombing in Roanpour?" Shen asked finally. The man didn't hesitate to rat out all his allies who had helped him. It turned out that it was all for the purpose of causing a rift in the balance of power between the Triads and Hotel Moscow. Lin sighed. He had assumed that was the cause but hadn't any proof. He took a recorder out from his pocket and hit the stop button. "Thats all I needed." he replied softly. He then turned to Kate guiding her towards the door. "You've done enough. Why dont you go check on the Lagoon members?" Lin offered. Shen walked past them both. Sitting in the chair was the mob member, his head leaned back. Shen had shoved a dagger literally down his throat in one silent move...

Kathrine flinched as he addressed her and looked at him. "N-No!...I'm going home with you Shen!" She said, her hands balling into fists. She shut her eyes and turned her head as the man began to scream out again. She didnt want to see this...this side of Shen.....he terrified her. She blinked as she felt Lin push her forward a bit, using her as a shield. She didnt blame him really, but she had to wonder if Shen really wouldnt hurt her to get to him if he persisted. Her body still trembled, she held no sorrow for the man who looked her way with pleading eyes. By the sound sof it, he had done horrible things...it wasnt her place to interupt him....but.... She walked up and pulled Shen's arm, pulling the blade away from the man's testicles. "This is wrong Shen...." She said looking up at him. She was trembling even while holding him back. "I...I know its for revenge....but that wont bring her back....your....your lowering yourself to their level, your better than this" She said, almost afraid to look him in the eyes

"You.." Shen muttered, his voice void of any sort of emotion. Lin held his cheek. He didn't want to use Kate 'again' but he didn't have much of a choice. "Go home with Chang." he muttered before turning his attention back to mob member. The man shuddered. "I-I dont remember! I dont even know what you're-" he stated just before Shen planted his foot hard against his chest, knocking him over onto the floor while still strapped to the chair. "That lie will cost you." Shen muttered. He hovered over the man grabbing his balls. The man screamed out bloody murder. "WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!" he pleaded. "I remember, yea but it wasn't my idea! She was a doctor. We had told her not to save a patient, a rival that had come in that night and she had done so anyway. It was a order from the higher ups!" he screamed. Shen kept the man's balls firmly in his hand. "Did the higher ups order you shove rusty metal poles up her ass too?" Shen asked, his voice growing darker. Lin swore that he could see an aura of pure darkness moving around Shen's body. He bladed his blade against one of the man's testicals just enough so he'd feel its sharpness. "It wasn't my idea! I swear to god I just wanted to kill her! Please forgive me!!" he cried out to the point that tears were streaming down his face. His entire body was shaking. He looked over towards Kate, his eyes begging for mercy. "Shen..I still need him." Lin whispered and had Kate move forward.

Kathrine looked up at Lin as he spoke and watched him as he walked in and shut the door. She couldnt bring herself to move. When she heard Shen's voice raise she flinched and looked back at the door. She wanted to run away but instead she forced herself to move. She opened the door and shut it behind her, just as Shen threw a knife at Lin. Her eyes widened but she held back the fear that was threatening to over take her and ran in front of Lin and put her hands out. "Stop" She said, her voice a little shaky. "Please Shen.....just....just do what you need to do so we can go home!" She whimpered lightly, her body was shaking lightly as she guarded Lin

Lin had made an attempt to grab Kate before she reached the room. He had been too late. Sighing, he came up to her placing his good hand on her shoulder. "This...goes much deeper then what you can understand. Dont judge Shen. Instead, judge me. I'm the reason this is happening." he whispered before stepping inside and closing the door. Shen hadn't reacted much to Kate's presence. His dark swirling eyes shifted down to the man's testicles. "Did you know that a male's reproductive organs are also unnecessary for survival?" Shen asked, his tone laced with darkness. He bent down inbetween the man's hairy legs. He began to squirm violently, trying to escape. "Four years ago...you killed a young woman, a woman who's beauty suprassed all. Do you remember this woman?" Shen asked and removed the gag he had recently placed inside the man's mouth to stop his screams. "Shen!" Lin hissed. "This isn't about Yoko! Ask him who's behind the attacks on my people!" Lin ordered. When Shen didn't respond, he started walking forward. Suddenly, Shen sent a blade flying at Lin! The blade slashed him right across the face leaving a long bloody scar behind on his cheek. "Shut the fuck up. I dont recall giving you permission to speak.." Shen muttered, his dark eyes only glancing back to Lin for a short moment. Unfortunately, Chang wasn't inside the room. He was currently seeing to Revy's treatment so there was no one around to protect Lin from Shen.

"Alright..." She said but still gave him the shot to numb the pain at least. It only took her roughly six minutes to stop the bleeding and patch him up. "Done" she said, She flinched hearing the sudden screams and looked off in the direction Shen had dragged the man with widened hues. She recalled hearing the name Yoko before when she had first come to after losing her memory. Lin said the man Shen dragged in was her rapist/killer...so...Yoko was Shen's ex? maybe? She heard another scream and dropped the medical kit when she jumped. She looked at Lin then ran toward the room where Shen was containing and...torturing the man. Her violet hues widened as she stared at the look in Shen's eyes and the bloodied and mangled man tied up. She flinched and stepped aside as Lin came walked up, her hues on the ground

"You dont have to to fix me up, just stop the bleeding. The bullet can wait." Lin instructed and looked up to where Shen had dragged their target. "I need to be there when he interrogates him. I still dont trust Shen. Yoko's killer and rapist is in there. For all I know, Shen might decide to kill him slowly." Lin muttered as he held still. In fact, Shen had already started his work. Before arriving at the hotel he had surgically removed every single organ that wasn't vital to the man's survival. He did so slowly, and without anything to numb the pain. The man's screams could be heard throughout the entire hotel. Now, Shen had him alone tied to a chair. He had also stripped him naked. "Now.." Shen muttered as he ran a hand across his face, accidentally smearing blood over it. "You're going to sing like a bird. I'll be blunt. I'm a very..BAD mood." Shen hissed and planted a vice grip like grasp on the man's neck. "Blink if you understand." Shen ordered. The poor man did as he was told. "Good." shen whispered. He released his neck and walked over to a near by table where had a set of blades ranging in sizes and shapes...

Kathrine watched as the team walked in and over to the medical tables to be treated. She waited and watched looking for the last two to walk through. When Shen finally made his way through the door she walked up to him. "Are you okay?" She asked softly, trying to see where his wounds were through the blood. He passed right by her though and she paused, not wanting to bother him. She looked down for a moment before turning and walked up to Lin after borrowing one of the medical kits. "Let me see" She said softly as she had him sit down. She put on some gloves and started to examine the wound. "The bullet didnt pass through" She said and pulled out a needle to numb his arm so she could take out the bullet. She did learn fast, and just from reading through books to boot!

Chang had medical teams waiting in the lobby. The first to walk through the doors were Dutch, Revy, and Benny. All three of them looked like hell, but Revy was the worst. She had been shot multiple times and was bleeding from everywhere. Chang directed lagoon company towards the tables he had set up. A few more minutes passed and neither shen or Lin had walked through the doors. Tini could feel her heart being squeezed with each passing second. After another two minutes the boys finally walked through. Shen's arms were covered in blood, yet they seemed functional. He was dragging a half bald man by the collar of his shirt. "Get me a private room." he ordered, his eyes on Chang as he passed by both Tini and Kate. "Do it." Lin ordered. "I dont understand..why did you bring him here?" Chang asked. Lin sighed. He was clutching his left arm to stop the blood loss. "We didn't have a choice. We're lucky to be alive right now..."

Kathrine looked up at Chang as he burst into the room. Kathrine's hues brightened as she got up from the bed, leaving the book on the bed. She had been scowering through medical books, so if needed she knew she'd be able to help. She ran past Chang and Tini and went running down the stairs until she got to the lobby, looking out the window, waiting for them to arrive. SHe had been more worried then she let on..

So that was her plan. It kinda made sense, tho Tini wasn't sure if she'd be able to help any just from reading a few books. Sighing, she closed her eyes while running her fingers through her silky long dark hair. "Well I'm glad you've found something to at least ease your mind. I've been going nuts in my room. If only I could hear from them. I've tried Shen's cell, but it never picks up." Tini whispered. She opened her eyes and noticed that Kate hadn't even bothered to look up at her. Fine. Just then, Chang came bursting into the room! "They're on their way! All I know is that there are multiple gun shot wounds. I dont know who's been shot or how bad, but they're on their way back right now!"

Kathrine didnt bother looking up, she knew as soon as Tini spoke who it was. "I'm sure they're okay...probably beaten up a little, but the gang that has them knows Lin is a higher up. They wont kill him. Shen....he seems a little too stubborn to just up and die" She said while turning the page. "Of course I am, thats why I'm ready up on any kind of martial art training, gun holding, anything at all that can help me when I try to sneak in. Chang wont allow me to leave the ship, and he wont leave because he was told to protect me, so I firgure if I can prepare myself well enough, then I could at least try to find out what happened to them." She muttered while turning another page

Tini entered and was somewhat shocked to find Kate reading...again. Seriously, it was all the girl was doing when she wasn't alone with Chang. "Um..I know I'm not your favorite person, but I'm really freaking out." Tini replied softly as she neared the bed. "Its almost been a week. Shen should have only been gone for three days. We've had no word and...and Chang refuses to send in any sort of backup, tho I understand why he cant." Tini muttered. Her eyes soon found the floor. She didn't know what she'd do if Shen didn't come back. However, something was nagging at the back of her head. Why wasn't kate more concerned? She swore all she had seen the girl doing was reading. Was that her way of dealing with her worries? Tini wanted to know. "Are you..at all concerned?"

"But..." She started but looked down as he stated how her safety was still his priority. As the days passed Kathrine found herself reading anything she could get her hands on. She was reading everything she could, from medical to combat, and guns, some how remembering everything she was reading. She had started finishing 8 books in just a days time. She kept trying to tell Chang she could help but he wouldnt hear of it. Shen had to come back safe...he and the rest of them....they just had to be alright. She was on her 5th book of the day when she heard the light knock on her door and didnt bother looking up as her eyes scanned along the lines. "Come in" She said, too focused on the books

"Stay here?" Chang asked, his eyes staring deeply into hers. "Keeping you safe is still my main priority. If I do have to leave..just promise that you'll stay." Chang whispered. Unfortunately, the next day passed followed by several more and they hadn't gotten a word from Lin or anyone else. Six days in total had passed. It had almost been a week since they had last heard from Benny. Chang had stayed, but only because suspicious characters were seen hanging around the hotel. The building was in the heart of Triad turf, but that didn't mean that they couldn't be attacked. Chang had security increased. The more days went by the more edgy he became. Tini had kept to herself during the week, but by the sixth day she was starting to lose it. Timidly, she walked up to Kate's door giving it a soft knock. She needed someone to talk to, anyone.

Kathrine became more worried as Chang began to pace. She stood still as he worked things out in his head. She looked down...they'd have to be okay..."Th-they'll be back..." She said as she as she grabbed his hand. She had no idea what she was suppose to say, or do...how was she suppose to react to this...Shen...shouldnt she have been more worried? She was keeping herself very calm surprisingly. "Is there something...I could do to help....if it comes to you going in?' She asked

Chang closed the door. He let out a low hiss as he slammed his fist into the wood. "No.." he whispered, feeling Kate run her hands along his back. "He went alone because he had to, not because he knew he could handle it. Lin's good with a gun, but..the whole point of hiring Lagoon company was to use them as body guards. If he's been cut off and only Shen is with him.." Chang muttered. He shuddered to think of the possibilities. For one, Shen could easily turn and kill Lin if he desired. That one was real and very likely. Unlike Dutch, Shen had no concept of money. He owed Lin a debt plain and simple. Chang moved away from the door. He couldn't stand still. He started pacing the floor trying to think of a way to get Lin some help. "If they aren't back by tomorrow..I may have to leave you and see if I can find them. The only thing is that it took them three days just to infiltrate the enemy's turf. If I go alone I may be able to sneak in...but I have no idea how far I'd get.."

Kathrine was sliding her fingers up along his neck when there was a knock at the door. She looked down as he moved her off him to get up. She looked up at the door as Chang received the message. "Do you think...they'll be okay?" She asked. "I mean....Lin and Shen can handle it...if Lin had said not to bother with back up right?" She asked softly while getting up from the bed and slid her hand up along his back.

There wasn't much Chang could say. It sounded like she had made her choice and she knew he was against it. He closed his eyes feeling her lips against his. It would probably be their final kiss. Suddenly, there was a hard knock on the door. Chang let out a low curse as he moved Kate off his lap and went to see who it was. Standing behind the door was Jacob with a phone in his hand. "Boss its bad! The car Lin and Shen was riding in got ambushed! They got separated from Lagoon Company. I just spoke with Benny, but was only able to connect for a few seconds." Jacob stated. Chang's eyes flew wide open. "I see.." he muttered, his eyes closing for a moment. "Well there's nothing we can do here. Lin ordered that we not send backup. They're in another gang's turf. The more Triads there the more we could risk war here in china. Lin's superiors wouldn't wouldn't stand for it. So for now..just keep coms open. If you get word again call me over the radio."

"I'm...not really sure....if it's him or not....its just...something is missing...." She said and looked up at him as he clutched her hands tighter. She shook her head against his chest and put her finger to his lips. "Shh..." She hushed him softly. "Everyone gets hurt...just think...lets say Lin does let you go....but then...like with Shen, he needs you and you refuse....what if he uses me against you?...." She asked, not knowing that is exactly what Lin had done to Shen. She looked up at him and ran her fingers through his hair. "I dont want you...to feel responsible for me...not like that...." She said and softly pressed her lips to his. "I really care for you Chang....but...I have to find my own way" She said softly while looking up at him.

"Can you at least...give me something better to go on?" he asked, his eyes closing as she crawled into his lap. He didn't deny her touch, but he was a little tense. "Its Shen isn't it?" Chang frowned. He could only see one thing blocking their progress. It had to be him. "Kate you dont owe him anything. He's done you more harm than good. If he had taken you home in the first place...everything you went through...wouldn't have happened." Chang replied softly. He clutched her hands a little tighter. He could still recall her cries, her pleas for Lin to order his men to stop. No relief had come tho. She wasn't even given a break. For five hours straight he allowed his men to ravage her over and over while making Shen watch. "You'll...end up hurt again.." Chang whispered. Part of him really considered telling her everything. The only problem was he didn't want her to agree to be with him based solely off of Shen's screw ups.

Kathrine's hues softened as he told her he'd leave the mafia. She stared up at him as he took her hands in hers. A soft smile crossed her lips and she shook her head. "I wish I could say it was..." She said as she crawled into his lap and wrapped her arms around him. "You were the first guy I got a crush on...I was so happy when I found out you felt the same way...but...something.....just feels...off..." She said and nestled her head against his chest. "I....cant explain it....its just..." She sighed, not knowing how to describe it. "I really wish this wasnt the case...I really like you a lot Chang....but...I just cant stay" She said softly

Chang actually understood her reasons. Still, he had to try again. "What if I left all that behind? What if I left the Triads? Normally you're in it for life but Lin could help me out. If the mafia thing bothers you I'd gladly go to the states with you and get a normal job. We can make this work Kate...but only if you're willing to." Chang told her as he took hold of her hands. "The job is the only reason right?" he asked, tho inside he suspected there was something else. "The job...isn't the only reason...is it?" Chang asked. Kate's gaze wasn't hard to read.

Kathrine hues softened as he confessed himself completely to her. She lifted her hand to his cheek and gave a sad smile. "Chang....I like you....I really like you....but...I cant see myself here with you...being the 'The 2nd man in commands women...' she quoted, hearing some of the Changs men talking. "I...I dont like how you can take a life without asking why....how you are so loyal to someone the way you are, willing to give your very life....I'm not judging you...its just...I cant bring myself to understand..." She said softly. "I've been trying to work everything out in my head...trying to make myself seeing it all work....but...I cant....I need to go back to the states...I need to create my own life" She said softly and looked up at him with soft hues. "Please...dont be angry with me...." She said softly as she ran her fingers up through his hair
