You Can't Save Me ((Yugo,Mature))

The moment Kate turned her back Shen grabbed and paid for the necklace at the desk. He stuffed the box into his pocket to make sure it stayed hidden before he walked up to the main counter. Smiling, he greeted the cashier and paid for his things. "Thanks for taking me out." he smiled brightly as he grabbed most of his bags. "Here, a reward for you." Shen smiled and leaned down planting a soft kiss on Kate's lips right in front of the cashier. He would have never dreamed of kissing her in public before, but now...he felt somewhat free to do as he pleased.

Kathrine hadnt noticed he was there until he called her which made her jump. "Oh...heh sorry, okay lets go" She said with a smile and grabbed the cart and headed over to the check out. she started pulling out the clothes and piled them onto the counter, along with the socks and boxers Shen had picked. She helped the sales clerk bag the items too. She looked around when it was time to pay. "Shen, time to pay, lets go" She said and waved him over

Shen smacked his hand against his face. It was good thing Kate was there shopping with him or he would have forgotten all about socks and underware. Actually, if she hadn't been there he probably would have come pack with nothing but random sized pants. "Right. I'll go grab some." he smiled. When he came back, he peeked over Kate's shoulder. She was staring intensely at the locket. Shen's eyes glanced over the price. For something with a diamond in it the necklace wasn't all that expensive. "Kate." he called from right behind her. He gazed down at her smiling softly. "I think I'm ready to go if you are."

"Ehh you kinda need some socks and boxers dont you?" She asked with a chuckle. "I mean, unless you like letting it all kinda just hang" She said with a smile. "You go pick some out, I'm gonna go look around to see if I want anything" she said with a smile. She brought the cart with her and browsed and stopped by the jewelery case. She was looking at a pretty heart necklace made of silver and a small baby diamond off to the side of it. She hadnt realized she had been looking at it for a while

Shen nodded and took the shirts. He was kinda having fun shopping with her. The two of them had never gotten a chance to do this because they couldn't afford for anyone to spot him and Kate together. Now they could walk down the street holding hands if they wanted and no one would say a thing. "All done. Everything fits." Shen smiled when he returned. He looked at the buggy. All in all he was probably only spending somewhat close to 80 bucks for all the shirts, pants, and ties they had grabbed. "This should be more then enough to keep me going. Once I find a place of my own I can go shopping again if I need to."

Kathrine tilted her head while looking up at him as he laughed. As he talked about her difference in tastes she looked down at the ties, trying to remember herself saying that, but still nothing came. She shrugged it off and agreed on the dark green and dark blue. "Those will look good" she said with a smile and lifted up some t shirts and white,grey, and black button up work shirts. "And heres a few to try on" She said

"Solid colors?" Shen blinked. Suddenly, he started laughing and placed the ties down in exchange from some solid blacks and blues. "You know what, there was a time when you said otherwise. As a matter of fact I remember it. You were skipping school and I was getting ready for work. You came up to fix my tie for me and started going on and on about how boring my colors were. Tho, back then I only had all black." Shen chuckled softly. "Hmm..so now I need go back to solids eh? Well, if you think so I'll buy them."

Kathrine smiled, she enjoyed his sillyness. She continued looking for some shirts for him when he called her over. She stood on the back of the cart and rolled over to him and looked at him. "Whats up?" She asked and looked at the ties. "Hmm.... maybe the blue and white?" She said. "Why to they make ties so....randomly colored, dont they have any solid colors?" She asked softly

Shen blinked twice..and then twice more after she showed him the shirts. His head hung down. Really..had had embarrassed himself not once but TWICE that day. "Those are fine." he muttered before looking up and around. He needed a few ties and so far the prices of the all the stuff they were buying weren't that bad. He'd have just enough to get a few nice looking ones. "Kate." he called and signaled her to bring the buggy over. He grabbed three ties and turned around to face her. "Dark blue with white stripes, red with white stripes, or light blue with dark poka-dots??"

"W-wait...what?" she said and started laughing. She hugged his arm against her and smiled up at him. "No, no, a wife beater is a type of tank top for guys." She said with a smile. "Wierd name I know but thats what they are called' she said as she found a small package of them and lifted them up. "See?" She asked showing him the type of tank tops guys ussually wore

"Wife beaters...?" Shen frowned as his eyes sharply narrowed. "I might be a fool but I dont appreciate being associated with such names. I would never lay a hand on my wife." Shen stated while placing his pants in the buggy she had brought him. He sighed, feeling somewhat depressed that her opinion of him was so low. Naturally, he had missed her point completely due to the little knowledge he had about men's clothes...or any clothes in general.

"Hm...with your build....maybe some button up shirts? Oh wife beater might look good on you too. With summer around the corner and all the less you have to wear the better right?" She asked as she walked over to the shirts. "Here, put the pants you like in this cart" she said bringing the cart up to him with a smile.

Shen nodded and made his way back towards the dressing room. Kate wouldn't believe it, but this was actually the first time he had bought clothes for himself. Then again...maybe that wouldn't be too hard to believe based on how clueless he looked. Most of Shen's clothes were either custom made or were purchased from over seas by his family. A few minutes later he came out. Only maybe half of the pants she had picked out fit him the right way. "Ok thats done. I like these." he smiled. "Now we need to find me some shirts. Any ideas?"

This is where it was going to get tricky. She didnt know what kind of cut he liked. She looked through the jeans and picked out a few different styles but all the measurements he had told her. 'Here's a bunch you can try. The dressing room is over there" She said pointing to where he'd be able to go and try them on.

Shen blushed slightly catching her eyes. "P-Perv..." he muttered playfully. She was right tho. He needed some more pants desperately. "Well my pants size is a 35W-36L. For shirts, its ranges between XL and L. It just depends on the material of the shirt and how its made." Shen explained. "If we're starting with pants...I suppose I should pick up some slacks to wear to interviews first." he stated and started browsing through the racks.

"Hm hmm, clothes for cheep. You said you were short on money right?" She asked. She lead him into a large 2nd hand store. "Alright, first off what are your sizes? Pants and shirt" She said while looking at him with a smile. She assumed he's be a large in shirts considering his well toned build. Pants....she had no idea. "We...may wanna start with pants" She said glancing down at him. You could pratically see the the outline of his length

"A thrift store??" Shen blinked. Since his family was...well...rich, he didn't even know what a thrift store was. "If you think we can find something good lets try it." he smiled while giving her hand a light squeeze. "I'm in your hands." Shen laughed. His mom with have a heart attack if she ever found out he had bought his clothes at some cheap store in the middle of town. He may have been grown, but she still worried about him just like any other loving mother..only Mei often took her 'worries' a little too far according to her husband.

"Lets see, we went this way....then turned...here" she said. she was going off of memory from yesterday when Jacob and Jazz had taken her shopping. "Wanna go to the thrift store? Its cheaper and they have a lot of nice clothes, thats where I got my outfit yesterday" she said as she walked, holding his hand in hers as she led him

Shen nodded silently. She had a point, but no matter what she argued Shen still felt the need to apologize to her. Even if she wasn't the Katherine he had fallen for she still looked like her, sounded like her, and smelt like her. Sighing, Shen followed alongside her into town. He wasn't sure where the shops were so he just stayed close. Tho...now he was starting wonder how she knew her way around. She had lost her memory...or maybe she had only lost parts of her memory, perhaps the more important memories were the ones that got erased.

"Shh shh" She said trying to get him to keep his voice down. "Okay okay, but apologizing isnt going to do anything, I dont even remember" she said and took his hand and started pulling him away fromt he small crowd. "I'm not the Kathrine you need to apologize too. It's not like I can forgive you for something i dont even remember you doing" She said softly. "Now come on, time to pick out some clothes" She said and took him into town.

"No..." shen whispered softly, his eyes still on the ground. He was waiting for her to scream like she had when they had first encountered each other back when everything was blowing up around them. "I fooled myself into believing that it was best that we separate. Also...when I never got a call...I assumed that you figured my choice to be correct as well." he stated, but then quickly looked up at her. "BUT THAT DOESN'T EXCUSE WHAT I DID! I SHOULD HAVE CALLED YOU, I KNOW THAT! I MADE YOU SUFFER..AGAIN...I'm sorry..." Shen stated and bowed his head. By now he had the attention of allot of people..

Kathrine blinked as he suddenly grabbed her. She stood close to him as he hushed his voice. she smiled softly and ran her fingers through his hair. "It's not fair...at least...I doubt it was to me. Did you at least...tell me things were over? Or why?' she asked softly. She didnt seem angry by his responses now. she wasnt the same girl, she was seeing all this from a different prespective

"No!" Shen exclaimed, and rather loudly too. He grabbed hold of her arm, but then released her to avoid giving off the impression to people passing by that he some asshole. "I mean.." shen whispered in a softer tone. "I dont ever want you to think it was something you did. I just...couldn't deal with my failure. That and I was falling in love with you..hard, but I felt that I didn't deserve happiness. You see..you're the second person I've failed to protect. The first died in a very gruesome way. You might remember the man Lin and I captured right?" Shen asked softly as his eyes found the ground. "It wasn't your fault..."

Kathrine blinked and looked at him. "You...left me?" she asked and looked down at her ID again. Despite that he just explained how it had been him she looked off to the side. "Was it....something I did...or said?" She asked softly and looked back to him before blinked. "Ah, n-nevermind, dont worry about it" she said waving off the conversation. "Come on GI-Jo lets go find you some clothes that fit" She chuckled and walked out onto the sidewalk

"Lonely?" Shen blinked. He closed his eyes for a moment trying to find the words to say. "Well...your childhood was nice a kind one. You went through many, many hardships which in turn made you into a very distant person. However, underneath that you're a very caring person. The loneliness didn't set in until..." Shen paused, wondering if she'd hate him for what he was about to tell her. "After I got you away from your abusers...I brought you here to study medicine. However, I was convinced that I couldn't protect you the way I wanted. I had failed...and as a result something... awful happened to you. So, I left you here and we never spoke until a year later. So, if you seem lonely in your photos...its because I was a fool."
