The Beginning ((Yugo,R))

Squall hesitated, but leaned up the best he could taking the water from her lips. Her lips were nice and soft. They almost reminded him of something..or maybe someone. He shook his head of such thoughts though. "Search my pockets. Is there anything inside?" he asked. Just then, squall sniffed the air. His jacket smelled funny. It had lily's scent all over it. "Is that..a wolf I smell?" he asked blinking twice. What was weird was that there was only one wolf's scent on his jacket. If he had been fighting there should have been many. Also, Squall couldn't smell the scent of any blood beside his own. He laid back closing his eyes once more. "well...I thank you for your help. I'll only stay until I can fly." he replied softly and then paused for a moment. "And...your method for feeding me water...its fine...for now..."

"Of course" She said, trying to give him the container of water, but with his hand broken it was a bit of a struggle. "Okay this isnt going to work" She said and took the drink to her lips before leaning down and feeding it to him once again. She sat up and wiped her lips before getting up to get his jacket. "I know its an annoying but we will have to deal with it until your able to at least sit up" She said and sat next to him with his jacket. "Did you want it on? or something from it" She asked

"N-No I never had it. I dont remember anything from this morning...or whichever morning it was. I woke up, ate a light breakfast, and then walked into our briefing room. We were going to launch a surprise attack, a big one." Squall stated. He looked up at the fox tensing when she touched him. Had he not been injured, he wouldn't have been so hostile. "Yeah ok..." Squall whispered hearing her apologize for what had to be the fourth time. "Do you have any water? And..could you bring me my jacket?"

"No, you were the only one that I saw...and I apologize again, all of our hunters are away aiding our sister tribes who are caught in the middle of the war so that why I was able to mistake you for a bird... I'm not a hunter...but we have been fending for ourselves the best we can" She said softly. She slid her finger against the black mark on his chest. "It seems to be a tattoo of some kind." she said and looked at him. "You dont remember getting it?" SHe asked while looking at him. "It's sounding to me like you may have lost some memories" She said

"W-What?" Squall whispered, now feeling light headed from the blood loss. He relaxed now allowing her to work on him. "That doesn't add up.." he whispered closing his eyes. "I'd have no reason to be here. We have no interest in this part of the territory." he stated, but was more so talking to himself. "W-Were there others like me? Was a flying with anyone?" Squall asked and opened his eyes. He saw that his jacket was laying near the entrance to the cave. He wondered if he had anything inside his pockets that would jog his memory. It was then that he looked down saw the moon shaped symbol that had been cared into his chest. "What the fuck is that??!"

"Tsk...." She clicked her tongue and pulled her hand away from his side. "Stop moving would you, your justing making it harder on yourself" She said as she started to stitch his wound back up. "Why would I be going through all this trouble to keep you alive if I wanted to kill you" She said with a light glare. "Your near the eastern boarder... about three days away from where the war is taking place in the west" She said

"Yeah right. What kind of story is that? Who would mistake a dragon for a bird?" Squall laughed and began to trash about causing his stitches to tear. When she pinned him down, he did everything he could to avoid her lips. She'd have to force the pill with her tongue for him to take it. Squall coughed hard. He could feel his blood leaking out from his stitches. He eyed the fox cautiously as he pressed his right hand to his ribs. "W-Where am I?"

Tsume swiftly moved out of his reach. "Shh the foxes are neutral, we are not your enemies" She said. "My guess is you were sent to scout the ground when I mistook you for a bird" She said softly, and took out the medicine she had made for him. She placed it in her mouth, and leaned over him, pinning his arms lightly as she lowered her head and pressed her lips to his, feeding him the medicine and waited til he swallowed before sitting back up. "That should help your headache... you will have to lay still for a few days before you can get back to your line" She said softly

"You..shot...what?" Squall blinked. His claws suddenly flexed and tore into the ground next to him. Now that he was awake he could feel every bit of the pain that was rushing through his body. "Why am..I here? I should be fighting on the front line...the war." Squall hissed. When she pressed his hands on his chest Squall's head lifted up. His brown eyes turned blood red in a flash. He released a dark snarl and lashed out trying to bite her. Everything that had happened to him before his fight with lily was gone. To him, he was still a soldier who should have been fighting to protect his kind

Tsume had been sitting by his side the whole night. When he came to she gently pressed her hand to his chest. "Shh, your safe.... I'm sorry...I mistook you for a bird in the sky... when my arrow hit you, you crashed....I've... I've been tending to you since.... I give you my deepest apologies" She said, her gray ears flat as her golden hues shone in the night. "I have medicine....for your head...you cracked it hard against a rock" She said crawled up next to him.

Squall's body wasn't recovering like it normally would, not until she got the arrow out. The pointed head was coated with poison, a poison known only to the wolves. As soon as the arrow was out his bones very slowly began to heal themselves. Still, it would take at least a few days to get them back into proper shape. Squall slept for the rest of the night. It wasn't until about 5 in the morning that his big dark brown eyes peeled open. "What...the hell?" he groaned feeling a sharp trust of pain surging through his body. He placed his hand on his head feeling the bandage. "W-Where is this..."

"I think it fell over this way!" A voice called. Two foxes came running through the brush, one a young pup, the other a female hunter. "Sis, this isnt a bird..." The little one said while poking at Squall's body with a stick. "Stop that" The older kitsune barked and knelt next to Squall's mangled body. Her gray ears picked up on his breathing and heart beat. She pulled a leather bag out from her side and searched through it, carefully lifting his head and started to wrap it. "Yip, go get two large branches" The kitsune said while tending to the dragon. After a bit of trouble the girl and her kid brother managed to pull Squall's limp body into a cave where she tended to his body, mixing some herbs together, not as skillfully as a wolf but enough to do the job. She cleaned his head would and gashes along his body. "Tsume, he's a dragon, we can just care for him like this" Yip said. "Hush, say a word about any of this and no dinner for you for a week" She hissed softly. The pup whimpered and left the cave

Squall soared down the mountain. His hair blew back as a sharp gust of wind came racing from the east. Squall extended his wings a bit to catch the gust and propel his body higher into the air. His dark brown eyes scanned the forested terrain below. To his surprise, he spotted a few small villages. He made a mental note of their location. If lily were to go on foot it would take her a few days to reach them since the villages were located near the bottom of the mountain. "Lets see what else is around here." Squall thought to himself and flew just a little lower before cloud level. Suddenly, everything went black! An arrow of some sort had pierced him right through the chest. Squall lost all control of his body and dropped down from the sky like a stone. The dragon crashed through several trees breaking nearly all of his ribs and several bones in his hands and legs. When he hit the ground, his head landed on a flat rock causing his body to go limp right there. Blood slowly tricked down the back of his skull forming a puddle underneath him. His vision grew blurry. He reached out his hand up towards the sky with the last remaining strength he had. "Lily.." Squall muttered just before he completely blacked out.

"Okay..." She said, not liking the sounds of him being gone for even a day. She returned his kiss and sat on the ground of the cave as he lept out. She watched him fly off and waited until she couldnt see him before climbing out of the cave and up into the small forested area a top the mountain. She waded into the pond and managed to catch herself two large fish, cleaning them up and started a small fire to cook them. As they cooked she looked for loose straw to start weaving a basket

"Well I guess I'll just go ahead and start scouting. I'll be gone for at least two hours. If any more then that leave the cave." he told her, now completely serious. He placed her down on back onto the ground and gave her a quick kiss goodbye. Squall then took a few steps back. Two giant leathery wings came shooting out his back. He hovered off the ground giving Lily a smile before shooting up into the air.

"I dont see why not, I'll be able to start weaving a basket while we are here, plus there are plently more rabbits for me to hunt for us, plus I'm sure there are some fish in the pond" She said, not minding staying up in their den for a couple days. She blinked as he lifted her up, her eyes narrowing and her body became tense as she looked down at him, her body relaxing as she saw his smile. "I'll....try to get used to it" She said

"Well for the next...maybe two days we can use this as a base camp. Before we go down there I can leave you and scout ahead for places to rest. Our trip down the mountain wont take long especially if I'm flying." Squall stated with a wide grin. He reached forward suddenly taking hold of her hips and raising her body off the ground. "Flying is the best. Its the one thing I could never complain about!"

Lily's ears flattened as he mentioned having to fly down the mountain. "Yeah... I need to get to the lower parts of the mountains to find some worth while herbs to trade with the foxes. Plus We will probably have to start planning where we are going to go day to day, so we dont run the risk of running into soldiers from either sides" She said while running her hand through her blonde hair

"Yeah but that doesn't mean I wanna see it first thing in the morning." Squall complained and frowned lightly. "Well we all cant be a perfect like you miss sunshine." he smirked and leaned down enjoying their little morning kiss. "So, whats the plan for today? Shall we try finding a village or something? We'll have to fly if you wanna get off this mountain tho."

Lily fazed into her human form as Squall joined her at the mouth of the cave. "Arent you a creature of the sun?" She asked with a chuckle seeing his morning apperence. Her apperence was as perfect as it was the night before. "You dislike too many things my dear" She said while running her fingers along the mark she had placed on his chest, she leaned up against him and gave him a soft good morning kiss to the lips

Squall let out a loud groan. He wasn't hot anymore, but he missed the comfort of her fur. It wasn't too long before he woke up too. Unlike Lily though, Squall wasn't a morning person. He rubbed his eyes and released a long yawn. His hair, which normally was always perfect, was a complete mess. The static from Lily's fur had kinda made it go...poof. "Curse the sun..." Squall mumbled as he got up. He walked over to lily's side and used his arm to shield his eyes from the sunlight.

Lily fell asleep about the same time he did. When morning came Lily's blue hues opened and she lifted her head and looked toward the mouth of the cave. She looked down at Squall, sensing his bodies discomfort. She got up and stepped over him, her large paws very graceful in their movements. She stretched, opening her jaws with a yawn before padding over to the mouth of the cave, sniffing the air outside before peeking her head out

"Good night then." Squall whispered softly. It didn't take him long to get to sleep. They both had experienced a pretty exhausting day between the back to back mating and running from her people. When morning came, Squall let out a low groan. His body shifted in his sleep. Thanks to how deep he had dug the cave they didn't have to worry about rays of light hitting their faces. However, Squall's body could feel the temperature inside the cave rising and he started getting a little hot.

"We can stay in our wolf forms for as long as we want, we arent restricted my time or anything like that. " She said and nuzzled her muzzle into his side lovingly. "I can stay like this all night, I'm perfectly comfortable doing so, dont worry" she said as she laid her head down, her ears moving, alert of their surroundings, even if they were very high up, it was a habit many wolves had while resting or sleeping

Squall let out a soft moan when she licked his shoulders. Her body was huge! It was almost like a giant pillow. He nuzzled his face into more of her fur loving how comfortable it felt. "So..how long can you stay like this? I can only use my true for about 40 minutes to an hour." He stated while turning so he could get a better look at her face. He saw her bright blue eyes glowed within the darkness, though thanks to the fire he could plainly see her face. "Will be comfortable sleeping like this?"
