The Beginning ((Yugo,R))

"My pendant...you mean my grandmother's?" Squall asked recalling part of the conversation. He looked down and ran his hands through his hair. Suddenly, his head tilted up and he released a roar the boomed across the landscape for miles and miles. "I'm so confused! I dont understand any of this!!!" he cried out. After a minute or two of venting, he turned to Lily once more. "I wont kill you...so stop crying already." he whispered. "Look...I remember only bits of pieces of my life. Maybe I'll get my memories back and maybe I wont. If what you say is true though...I cant go anywhere. So for now...just come to back to the cave. The fox there has been taking care of me. I'm sure she'll let you sleep there at least for a little while."

"What does it matter, I'm just the enemy right? what do you care if I die, I'm just another lowly mongrel to you arent I!?" She growled and turned to him her eyes shining brightly. When we decided to be mates you even wanted to go back to your home and retireve your family's pendant to give to me to prove that I was your mate and I begged you not to because I was afraid your family would find out about us, so I had you make your mark on me and you gave me this"She cried and covered her hand over her mark on her chest.

"K-Kill you?" Squall blinked, again. Now he was even more suspicious. "I thought you said we were mates. You're doing a poor job at selling your story." he growled while eying her back. Yeah there were the marks on their bodies, but that wasn't enough for Squall. "Prove it to me. If you're my mate surely I've told you personal things I'd never tell anyone. Speak! You seem upset...prove to me that this isn't some kind of trap because I dont remember you...at least...not clearly enough." he mumbled. "I do remember some kind of hole...and...blue eyes...but it gets fuzzy there."

Lily hung her head in defeat. She wasnt strong... how could she convince him... "Then....kill me..." She whimpered, and slowly stood up. "I left my pack when I left with you....if your going to leave me I'm better off dead than dealing with the punishment my pack will put me through..." She said and turned her back to him. "Just....do it quick" She whimpered lightly

"What?" Squall blinked and stepped back putting some distance between them. "That sounds utterly foolish. Why would I do something like that?" he growled, though paused when she began to hurl her insides. Squall looked on with slight disgust. Nothing made sense! "I dont know if I've forgotten or not. I was flying..and a week ago I was shot down. I crashed into the ground, hit my head, and broke almost every bone in my body. Since then...I cant seem to remember anything, least of all becoming your mate. Its sounds very suspicious." Squall stated as he stood up straight though still held his side. "How do I know that we...really loved each other enough to run away? How do I know you're not some assassin sent to kill the Emperor's first son?"

"Y-you've....forgotten?" she whimpered lightly while looking up at him she caught him as he fell to his knee and looked up at him. "We...we were trapped together....and....while I was in heat we mated....then...my kind took you hostage and I let you go....we....we met up again during my next heat cycle....and you asked me to run away with you" She said, her voice a small whimper. Her hues widened and she stumbled away from him holding her stomach and threw up, coughing hard as she wiped her mouth. Her nerves were shot....her body trembling as she started to cry. "....How....how could you forget" She cried

"Da fuck?!!!" Squall blinked twice. He leaned forward staring hard at the porting of her chest that had marked...or so she said. He couldn't ignore the evidence though. The mark was indeed one from his clan. "How...?" he asked, his eyes shifting between Lily's and the mark over her heart. "I dont understand. Why would I have a wolf for a mate? We should be fighting each other. How...How did this happen, tell me!" Squall demanded and got up, though a bit too fast. In a second he had a knee on the ground and was clutching his side. "Damnit..."

She looked down at him as he demanded who she was again. She pulled her shirt down, revieling the mark of his clan that he had left on her. "Your mate" She whimpered softly, her soft blue hues staring at him heartbroken. She remained a top him, straddling him while looking down at him, her blonde hair falling her her shoulders as she showed him the mark he had left on her

Squall's head tilted to the side in confusion. Why was she crying when he'd just saved her life? His eyes became sharp as she raised his shirt and traced her fingers over his tattoo...or whatever it was. "You did this to me?!" Squall blinked. His eyes suddenly shot wide open! Her lips, this soft yet wild sensation. He had felt it before. Still, he pulled away from her lips and stared wide eyed at her. "Who are you?" he asked, his body shaking slightly. "I wont ask you again...wolf."

Lily cried out as she started to fall only to feel a hand grasp her wirst and pulled her up. She blinked looking down at Squall, tears dripping from her chin onto his chest. She looked at him as he demanded to know who she was. Her hand pulled his shirt up over his chest, seeing her mark still there made her eyes soften as her fingers traced it. "Its still there..." She whimpered softly and leaned down, pressing her lips lovingly against his own

Squall's body lunged forward grasping her hand right before she fell! He looked down growling as he pulled her up onto land and accidentally on top of him. Squall let out a low hiss. His hand quickly found his right side. It was still a little tender even though he already considered himself to be fully healed. "Who are you? How do you know me?" Squall asked as he gazed up at the blonde. When their eyes met, his own widened. The flashes..they made sense now. Also, for the past few days he had seen bright sky blue eyes within his dreams. They must have been hers. "Answer me." Squall frowned and sat up while holding his side. "There's a war going on between our kind. How do you know me? Why was my jacket covered in your scent?"

"But you must be! You were covered head to two in her scent when if first found you! She knows you! You have to find out!" She growled back at him. "Go!" She demanded again and watched him as he ran after the she wolf. Lily lept over rocks and fallen trees, tears streaming down her face. He had looked at her like she was a no body! Could another girl steal his heart so quickly?? She wasnt watching where she was running and realized she was about to run right off a cliff. She skidded to a stop, flying over the edge of the cliff, her claw's quickly sinking into the dry earth of the cliff. She hung there, holding on with one hand. She looked down over her shoulder with tear filled eyes seeing rapids below with sharp and jagged rocks. She tried to pull herself up but the earth her claws were dug into was giving way, crumbling under her fingers

"Huh? What are you doing??" Squall growled and jammed his feet into the ground to stop her from pushing him. "It has to be a mistake. There's no way I'd be familiar with some wolf." he frowned, but it looked like Tsume wasn't interested in his opinions. "FINE!" he growled, but had already been pushed out of the cave. His shifted towards the forest. He'd have to hurry if her was going to catch up with lily.

Tsume watched as the wolf ran and Squall stared on uninterested. She pushed him towards the forest. "Go after her" She demanded, ignoring his apology. "Think, try really hard Squall! She knew your name, she had the same scent that was on you and and coat, she has to be someone you know!" Tsume said.

"Mm-eh?" Squall blinked as his name was called. He stared at the she wolf, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Do I know you wolf?" he asked, but by that point she had already ran off into the night. "What was that all about?" Squall blinked, now facing Tsume. "Why would a female wolf know my name? She looked sad too...it doesn't make sense." he sighed and released Tsume's body. "Oh...sorry about that random kiss. I just..really wanted to. I've been wanting to for a few days now and I just thought..well I should take the chance."

As his scent grew stronger Lily fazed into her human form, running as fast as she could!

Tsume had turned and held her hand out for her bowl and blinked he he pulled her in and slid his fingers along her body. "Don't worry about it" She said with a smile and blinked as he leaned in commenting on how he wished to repay her. Her body froze as the dragon's lips pressed against her own, her golden hues widened in shock. "Squall!" Lily cried happily as she jumped out from the bushes seeing her mate kissing the she fox. Lily's hues widened as she froze in place. "Squall...?" She whimpered her bright blue hues quickly filled with tears, threatening to fall. Tsume's ear twitched and she broke Squall's kiss looking at the she wolf who seemed to know him. Lily's hues trembled as her ears flattened and her tail fell limp. The she wolf shut her eyes tight and turned, sprinting into the woods as fast as her legs would take her

"Sure." Squall smiled. While his back faced her he poured their bowls. Normally they ate by themselves since her brother was still afraid of him. As he stood in front of the pot Squall tapped his foot against the ground. He couldn't stand it! The attraction he felt for Tsume was getting stronger and stronger. At the very least...he wanted to know what it would feel like to kiss her. If she didn't go for it...well...he'd heal and she'd never have to see him again. Squall felt that if he could just give her a strong enough push she'd stop resisting so much. "Here we are." he smiled and turned around, though placed their bowls down rather then handing one to her. "You know I really owe you allot." he whispered, his dark brown eyes softening as they locked onto her golden ones. He stepped towards her taking hold her waist and slowly rolling his finger tips along her body. "I want to repay you.." squall whispered with a hint of pure seduction. Suddenly, he leaned in stealing a kiss from her precious lips.

"Okay" She said, her ears twitching as his lips touched them. His body was hinting... she always caught on to his little affectionate gestures but never gave into them. Perhaps it was because she was older, but she knew better then to mess with the law of nature and cross breed. "Would you be a dear and fill the bowls?" She asked. as a soft gust of wind blew. Tsume tucked her long hair back and looked back out into the night. As the wind carried it brought Lily a familiar scent. Her white ears perked as she sniffed the air her dulled hues brightening. She let out another howl before sprinting in the direction Squall and Tsume took shelter

Squall was happy to help, but couldn't help but to feel al ittle useless. All he had to do was stir the stew...and that was about it. When he heard the howl, his eyes widened and his body froze. It sounded so familiar. Shaking his head, he walked up behind Tsume resting his head on her shoulder. "Food's done." he whispered, his lips pressing slightly against one of her ears. He had grown to like the older fox allot and found himself always trying to establish some form of physical contact with her. She never seemed to bite though. Maybe it was because he was a dragon. Then again, Squall never imagined it would be possible for him to be attracted to anyone who wasn't of his kind.

"Thats not true....sometimes you just need a reminder.... no memories lost are unimportant." She said softly. Lily had spent her days hunting Squall, searching for his scent, trying to find her mate.At the end of the days she would give a long mournful howl before retiring for the night... was she ever going to see her love again? The day past quickly and Tsume had allowed Squall to help make the stew for dinner which mainly consisted of stirring the pot. She looked up at the dark sky. "Its a new moon..." She said softly while looking up at the dark starry sky. A few miles away Lily slowly walked along in her wolf form, sniffing the ground the air, everywhere. She sat down and whimpered, throwing her head back and let out a long mournful howl. Tsume's ears perked hearing the howl. "Hm...a she wolf is mourning... she must have lost a pup...or a comrad in the war" She said

"Y_Yeah....I guess..." Squall muttered once she was done. He could see it in her eyes. She was truly loving this. It made him want to tease her back. Unfortunately, he wasn't in the physical condition to do so. As the days passed though Squall's strength grew. His memories remained dormant though. It had almost been a week and he could pretty much walk on his own, though Tsume wouldn't allow him to fly...even though he knew he could. "No not really. I get flashes every now and then but thats it." Squall explained. He was leaning outside against the cave watching her do some chores. He had taken a real interest in her daily life and was now helping with whatever she'd allow. "Perhaps me losing my memory isn't a big deal. I mean...if it was really important...I'd remember right?"

Tsume chuckled as she watched him. She could see him trying to think of things to distract him from getting too excited. Once she thouroughly washed there she finished with his legs and redressed him. "Feel more clean?" She asked with a soft chuckle as she put the cloth into the bowl and stood up. Teasing him kept caring for him amusing at least. She walked out of the cave and dumped the water. Another couple days passed and she had started to let him try and walk, but only a little before she would make him lay back down. "Have you recalled anything of your recent memories?" She asked

"I'm not shy! Far from it.." Squall growled as she pushed him down. "Curse this older woman." He thought to himself and closed his eyes. "Yea right. What dragon would get excited from-" he began but soon paused. His heart beat began to pick up just a little bit as she washed him. Squall's eyes closed a little bit tighter. He should have been able to keep himself composed but was having a very, very hard time doing so. "Ok just think calm thoughts, calm non erotic thoughts...ah lets see...bunnies! Yes, bunnies hoping through the forest. No..pink bunnies, pink bunnies hoping through the forest holding...um..." he thought and began to sweat a little as he felt his blood began to pump a little faster. "W-Worms! Yes...worms digging through the dirt. Slimy worms, green and dripping with...yellow stuff...ahh...yea thats good..." he thought and sighed in relief having avoided what would have been an embarrassing erection

Tsume's ears folded as he grabbed her wrist. She looked at him and pushed him down, forcing him to lay back down. "Stop being such a shy guy, I've dont this before to the men in my tribe who came back injured, It's not like you have something I havent seen before" She said and pulled his pants down. "Try not to get too excited now" She said with a smirk and she started to wash his lower abdomine and genitals

Squall rolled his eyes. There was no way something like that could happen. The Empire stood at the very top of the world. The reign would live for ever. Squall closed his eyes and relaxed some. For the most part he was enjoying having his body washed by her. When she went to undo his pants though he flinched and reached out to stop her. "Um...I can handle that much. Besides, I wouldn't want to spark your curiosity." he smiled, but then winced. His body wasn't fully healed and he had moved too quickly.
