Fire & Ice II: Age of Rebirth(private/mature/continued)

Kiku stared in dissapointment a5t her son. Sure some of what he said was true but his attitude was ridiculous. "Titus that's enough. What would you have us do? Should your father just go mate with someone else? Or what? And as leader your father may gain respect. Instead of thinking we are all doomed maybe you could accept that we have skme hope. I you don't you'll keep pushing us all away. We love you but there's only so much we can do to convince you."

Titus slowly looked up at his mother. He figured his dad would send her. Kiku always came in to talk to him before the actual punishment from Yugo came. Sighing softly, he rolled onto his back and placed his hands under his head. "Why should I pretend like everything is fine? My school sucks. All people do is talk about our family like it came from the gutter. You cant even tell that dad is the leader of the this rotten little city. They dont respect him. They may fear him, but they dont respect him. Anyone who knows anything about kingdoms knows that there must be a successor. Our laws state that only the strongest may lead. Right now, thats dad. The law also states that anyone can challenge him for leadership at any time. If this doesn't happen, then his offspring maintain first rights to leadership. Only problem is me and Soara are half breeds. We're not accepted. Neither are you or uncle Daichi. It dont take a genius to figure out that dad is gonna run into a huge problem later on down the road. I'm sure you've thought it about it too. You know full well that Soara and I cant take over. That leaves only aunti Nagi. Either way, the blood line is gonna die because there is no pure blooded offspring. How do you solve that?" Titus asked, his eyes shifting to the side. "You have offspring of pure blood."

Soara smiled as he huged her back. Following him into the garden she watched as her aunt took the first bite. When she said she liked it she let out a breath of relief. Kiku heard her husband and frowned. "I guess I can try." She stated standing. Walkingto hber sons room she lightly knocked. "Hey there we need to talk." She sat next to him. "So what was that whole thing about?"

Yugo smiled as he returned her hug. Now that he was the official alpha, he'd have to work ten times harder in order to provide his children with a future. Once they were done making the ice cream, Yugo brought the giant bowl before Nagi. The pregnant female snorted as she looked the bowl over while eyeing her brother. All was quiet as Nagi dipped her spoon into the ice cream and took a small sample. A small shiver quickly ran down her back as her icy treat filled her mouth. "Mmm...y-you're forgiven...this time." she growled. Yugo let out a deep sigh of relief. He smiled at Soara before taking a seat by Kiku once more. He was happy, but...none it felt right. Titus should have been there. Sighing softly, Yugo leaned into Kiku and whispered into one of her ears. "Perhaps now would be a good time to talk to him. You've always been able to get your point across to him better then I..."

Soara nodded grabbing the fruit sHe helped her father scoop the ice cream into the bowl. When he spoke she lifted her head "Hm?" She asked. Listening she frowned "alone with mr.rage?" She asked with a groan. She looked at him "Dad the clothes really? It doesn't bother me that much let's me know you care. Though maybe skimmpier could get me friends..." She muttered. "As for stronger duh dad I got thaty covered and I get that its important." She assured him. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

"Alright lets make this quick so your aunt can forgive me." Yugo smiled as he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a large bowl. "Can you grab the fruit? I'll get the syrup." he stated and while scooping out the ice cream his eyes shifted back over to his daughter. She was getting older and older with every passing day. Soon, she wouldn't be his little girl anymore. Perhaps she wasn't now. "Hey Soara...um..." Yugo mumbled, his eyes shifting back and forth between the ice cream and her. "Well you should know that this position is very important. Now that its official I'll probably have to do allot of traveling. I'll be taking your mother with me and you and Titus will probably have to stay here unless I can make arrangements to take you with me. I guess...what I'm trying to say...is that I know you're getting older. I want you know that even though I hound you about your clothing...which doesn't seem to work...I do trust you. I'm very proud of how your training has progressed." he replied softly and looked at his daughter with a soft smile. "Its my objective to make it so that some day...either you or your brother can take over for me. That wont be for at least a few thousand years...but until then, I need to to continue to grow stronger. Think you can do that?"

Daichi stared at the two as they stared off at each other. He looked nervously back and forth afraid that they might start fighting. When they finally stopped he sighed in relief. Soara looked at her dad and grinned "Of course." she stood following him out of the garden and intot he kitchen.

Nagi took in several deep breaths. It took her a moment, but she was finally able to calm down. Yugo should have known better. The pregnant wolf was VERY sensitive about her weight. She had already bitten off Daichi's head a few times during the earlier stages of her pregnancy so he knew better as well. "Right right I'm sorry. How about I get you some ice cream as an apology?" Yugo smiled. Nagi turned her back to him and crossed her arms over her chest. "No. I'm mad at you." she pouted . "Oh come on. I'll put nuts, bananas, and grapes in your ice cream." Yugo grinned. Slowly, Nagi turned back around to face him. Curse her love for sweets. "Put extra chocolate syrup on it too..." she grumbled. Yugo chuckled softly and rose to his feet. "Wanna help your dad Soara?" he smiled down at his daughter. Meanwhile, Titus laid lazily on his bed, his ears drooping slightly.

Soara grinned as her father showed his sign of approval. He was bald the reason she read the books anyways. Kiki was surprised at Yugos comment as Daichi didn't question it and simply filled the bowl. His gaze shifted warningly towards Yugo. As the two siblings began to fight again. "Um Nagi dear...you need to calm down okay?" he pleaded with her as be shot yugo a death glare.

"Correct." Yugo smiled and reached out to ruffle Soara's hair like he did when she was younger. "Anyway, thats the idea. However, there's a certain way I have to go about it in order to maintain peace." Yugo replied softly. Nagi nodded. It all made perfect sense to her and she would support whatever plan Yugo came up with. "So, when will the elders have your ceremony?" Nagi asked as she finished downing her sixth bowl of soup. She had already handed her empty bowl to Daichi expecting yet another refill. "In three days." Yugo smiled. He held Kiku's hand tightly and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. "Its going to be very important so I'll expect you all to be there." he smiled, but blinked after seeing that Nagi was now on her seventh bowl. "Hey sis...dont you think you've had enough? I mean I know you're eating for two but...damn..." Yugo blinked again. "ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT?!" Nagi suddenly hissed and rushed to her feet. Within seconds she was in Yugo's face while poking him in the nose. "Why dont you try being pregnant for a change dumbass! You have no idea whats it like to lose control of your body! If I wanna eat ten bowls of soup, I'll fucking eat ten!!!" She screamed. Ama let out a nervous laugh and quickly began to rub her mother's shoulders. "Mama remember what the doctor said? You have to mind your temper. You can get excited..." she replied softly. Yugo let out a low groan. God he couldn't wait for her to have the baby!

Kiki lightly held Yugos hand in an effortto calm him slightly. As he discussed his plan she smiled looking as interested and impressed as possible. Soara did the same except unlike her mom she was actually interested completely. "That's a great idea if you don't give the other tribes some power we'll have an uprising which we don't need and since the nekos are quiet why not?" she smiled at her father before finishing her food. Kiki stared at her daughter. She knew that she studied war strategy and history by the stack of books in her room but she never thouh she did to this extent.

Yugo remained dead quiet. He would have never imagined that having a teenager would be so damn difficult. Nagi did her best to try and comfort him, but Yugo's mood had already been ruined. "Uh...so Nii-sama, what will be your first act as the official alpha?" Nagi asked. Yugo blinked for a moment. It was true that he did have a bunch of plans...but he wasn't sure if they'd work or not. "Well...for starters..." he mumbled while his spoon dipped in and out of his soup. "I've been considering restoring power to some of the tribes we took over Nagi. Right now the only thing holding the alliance together is a mixture of fear, a little respect, and our army. We need more then that. The war with the nekos might be over...for now...but there are still other demon species out there. For example, there have been more and more skirmishes between the dog clans and our eastern boarder. I'm not saying that dogs are a threat because...well...they're just not...however, we should still remain alert. Also, there have been rumors that something big is happening in the west. Our alliance with the other wolf tribes needs to be stronger." Yugo stated. "The west...dont the dragons control the west?" Ama blinked twice. Yugo nodded slowly. "Thats the rumor. Although, no one has actually seen a dragon within the last...twenty thousand years maybe? You'd think that they no longer exist. However, when ever someone enters the lands to the west that person is never heard from again."

Soara glared at Titus. "You know treating me like shut is one thing but now dad too? Keep pushing and you'll have no family." she growled. Grabbing a dish she stomped to the garden. Helping settle evrythig back into a dinner like manner. Sitting she sighed "Titus went to his room..." she muttered. She knew she should inform them.

At the news Kiku frowned "of course he did..." she stated. "Well let's just enjoy dinner? Hm?" she plastered a smile on her face as she snegan to eat.

"Fine, but talk to YOUR son. I'll deal with him later tonight." Yugo grunted. Nagi sighed in relief. It had been a while since they had received some good news. She didn't want to spoil the occasion. As Ama picked up the plates, she shot a glare at her cousin. Titus raised a brow and frowned. "What? Dont act like I'm the only one who thinks this is fucked up. Its like a slap in the face. Why give him full control if he cant pass it down his bloodline?" Titus hissed. Ama let out a deep sigh. It was a good thing that all the adults were in the garden. "I'll admit...I've been wondering the same thing. I'd imagine that mama would take over if anything ever happened to uncle Yu-san. However, there's a time and place for everything. You shouldn't had brought up the topic...especially since you know how important this is to uncle Yu-san. He's wanted to fully succeed his father since he was young. I think you hurt both your dad...and my mom." Ama replied softly as her white ears folded. Titus let out a huff. He wasn't hungry and so excused himself from the dinner.

Kiku frowned at him. "I guess...I'd say we could put them in the neko academy but I'm sure you're not okay with that." She stated. Standing she followed him into the dining room taking a place near him. As he began to speak she smiled. At his news she grinned standing she hugged her husband "that's great. Its about time they recognized how great you are."

Soara stared at the ground as her father and mother entered. At his announcement though her face lit up. She jumped up hugging her father tightly. "That's great daddy! You earned it." She stopped though realsing him as Titus scoffed at the announcement. She stared at him her eyes wide as she couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth. "Titus stop!"

As yugo advanced Kiku put a arm on his shoulder. "Hon stop...not now later. Let's celebrate okay?" She pleaded. Grabbing a dish she helped them all into the garden.

"Well...right now...the best thing we can do is encourage them. Honestly...I'd rather they stay inside the academy. They wont get a better education anywhere else." Yugo sighed softly. "We'll figure it all out later. For now, lets go to dinner. I've got big news to share with everyone." Yugo smiled as he extended his hand to Kiku.

When they arrived at the dining table, everyone was seated. Yugo took his place at the head of the table and cleared his throat. "Nagi, thanks for preparing dinner tonight. As you all know, I have some very big news to share with all of you. After so many years of taking shit from the Elders, its been decided that I am now old enough to take full control of our pack. The council will still maintain advisory status, but all final decisions will rest with me. In other words, as of now I, Yugo Ogami, am the official leader of the Ogami Tribe." Yugo smiled brightly. NAgi gasped and covered her mouth. She quickly got up and wrapped her arms tightly around her brother's neck. "Its about time..." she whispered as tears threatened to spring from her eyes.

"Whats the big deal? Dad was already the leader right?" Titus asked with a lazy gaze towards his aunt. "Ti-chan, Uncle Yu-san never had full control. He was deemed too young even though him and mama managed to unite all of the wolf tribes." Ama stated as she clapped her hands together. "So where does that leave us? Soara and I cant take over when you die right? Who's gonna rule?" Titus snorted and turned his head away from his family. "I heard something interesting today. It seems that that elders...no...everyone will only recognize a successor who has pure blood. That means that Soara, Ama, and I dont count. Hmph...it makes me wonder how long will it be until someone who can rule is born..." Titus grunted. Suddenly, Yugo slammed his fist into the table, breaking it in two! If it hadn't been for Ama's quick reflexes, the pot of soup she and her mother had made would have flew all over the place. "How dare you..." Yugo hissed, his dark brown eyes narrowing as he bared his curved fangs. The alpha began to approach his son. He wouldn't tolerate such behavior. "Nii-sama wait a moment!" Nagi called as she grabbed hold of his arm. "Ama and I worked hard to make this dinner. It would be a shame not to eat. Why dont we all go into the garden? Its a nice day." she smiled. Yugo looked back at his little sister before shifting his heated gaze back towards his son. Titus had really done it now. He was in trouble all the way up to his neck. "Fine." Yugo grunted. Titus wasn't off the hook though./

leaning over to better hear his wife Daichi laughed. "I sure hope so or I'll die. Maybe this one can be more like me?" He joked. He looked at Ama as she spoke and smiled. Once they were finished with the cooking he followed Nagi into the dining room. He couldn't wait to eat or to hear Yugos big news.

Sitting next to him she frowned. This was exactly what she had feared when sending the two off into the academy. When Ama succeeded her hopes had gone up slightly but now they were low once again. She didn't understand why they had such a problem Soara was just as attractive as Ama and Titus was handsome as well. "So...what do we do? They're our kids we can't let them get pushed around like that." She stated.

Hearing Ama approach Soara groaned. The last thing she wanted to do right now was address her cousin or her family in general. Standing she walked to the dining room staring at the floor as she sat down. She was still upset and it was pretty obvious.

"Well with any luck, by the time our second daughter comes along, you'll be better prepared. Though...with any luck...maybe our second wont be so...well..." Nagi whispered to Daichi as she shifted her gaze back towards her first born. "Maybe she wont be so Ama like." she giggled. "Did you say something Mama?" Ama blinked. "No hun, not a thing." Nagi smiled happily. Once dinner was ready and the table was set, Nagi sent Ama to round up her cousins. Naturally, Anita would be eating with them as well since she was a big part of their family.

"Well..." Yugo sighed as he took a seat on their bed. "Soara was harassed by a few boys. They called her names and pulled her tail. They also...said that things about you...which I wont repeat." Yugo replied softly. "Oh, and your son nearly beat those boys to death. It took three teachers to pull him off. The twins are both gonna be punished for the next few weeks. Its not fair, but fighting like that isn't allowed regardless of the circumstances. I made a deal with the twins. If they can last for three weeks, I'll allow them to leave the school. I'll have to find somewhere else for them to go...but they wont have to go there. The twins seem to think that I dont understand what its to be picked on, harassed, or scared." Yugo whispered as his dark brown eyes shifted to the floor. "It makes me so angry that they have to go through this...however...I couldn't let them know that. All I could do was encourage them..."

Daichi glared at her and then relaxed slightly. "Because its cruel and sometimes I don't know if she's teasing or not." He replied. Grabbing the spice for Nagi he handed it to her kissing her cheek. Returning to his seat he sighed before staring at his daughter. "Not funny..." He growled.

Hearing the door open Kiku stood and smiled. Walking up to him she hugged him tightly. "I know...sorry I was exhausted." She explained. Leaning up she placed a soft kiss on his lips. "How did the kids first day go? I wasn't told anything really. I know something happened though."

"I said enough." NAgi frowned as she placed her hands on Daichi's shoulders. "You know she enjoys teasing you. Why dont you get that after all this time???" Nagi blinked before returning to her pot. Ama let out an innocent chuckle. "Haha, papa you looked like you were about to bust a vain!" she laughed. Nagi sighed deeply. The scary thing was that she knew soon the day would come when Ama would meet a male. Even if she was a half breed, she was an attractive one. Nagi was sure that the school boys wouldn't care about her bloodline if meant getting laid.

"You'll both be fine." Yugo smiled. "Now, go wash up for dinner. I have big news for the entire family." Yugo smiled as he left the garden and walked up to his room. He entered and quietly closed the door behind. "Ah, there's my beautiful mate." Yugo grinned as he made his way over towards Kiku. "How's my lover doing today? I didn't get to say goodbye to you this morning."

Daichi followed the two back to the palace and sat in the kitchen as the two girls cooked. He seemed to only be in the way when he tried to help so he just didn't unless asked. He stood as he was requested to retrieve the spice. He stopped dead in his tracks at Ama's words. "I'm sorry what was that?" He asked. When she kept going he growled "if he touches you I swear I'll kill him..." He hissed.

Staring at her father Soara frowned. "So...I'm not you..." She muttered. As he continued she just listened. Her attention turned to Titus when he spoke about the school. "I agree I don't want to go and be harassed everyday. I just don't."She stood. "Yeah sure if we last that long..." Turning she left the courtyard and went to her room.

The moment they got back to the palace, Nagi began preparing dinner. Ama was more then happy to help and somehow had become an even better cook then her mother thanks to Anita. Then again, cooking had never really been Nagi's thing in the first place. She had only gotten into it because...well...she couldn't do much of anything else while pregnant. Cooking was how she learned to get rid of her frustrations rather then yelling at whoever was within her range. "Daichi, can you bring me some seasonings? Someone put them in the top shelf again..." Nagi called. Ama shifted her dark hues over towards her father. She was busy chopping some vegetables when a sudden sly grin formed on her lips. "So papa, I think I'm ready to mate now." Ama suddenly declared with a huge smile on her lips, her cheeks a soft shade of pink. "I met this guy today and he was really cool. He said he thought I was cute too so...why not? He's totally buff!" Ama chimed. "Enough..." Nagi sighed deeply and closed her eyes. "Ama dont tease your farther...if he dies from a heart attack its going to be on your head..." Nagi sighed again. Her daughter had a sick sense of humor, one which 99% of the time was directed towards Daichi.

Yugo raised a brow. He eyed Soara for a moment before standing to his feet. He raised his shirt just enough so the twins could see a deep scar that went down the left side of his waist. "I got this when your aunt and I were kids. We weren't picked on because we were different...we were picked on because we had lost our parents. A few kids thought it would be funny to blindside me and knock me down a few steps. When I woke up I was in the nurses office. Your aunt was crying like a baby. That was back when she cried often." Yugo sighed softly and released his shirt. "So yes, everything that you've experienced today I have as well, and more. You need to become strong Soara, strong enough so that words do not bother you. Now, I'm not telling you two NOT to fight...I'm just saying that self control is key. Remember your training and you'll get through middle school just fine." Yugo smiled. "You dont understand." Titus mumbled as his eyes shifted to the side. "I hate that place. Even the teachers are against us." he frowned and let out a small growl. Yugo released a small sigh. "Alright tell you what, if you two can hang in there for three weeks, just three weeks, I'll allow you to quit. I'll simply have to find somewhere else to put you. However, you have to stick it out for three weeks first."

Daichi glared at her. "Whatever I wasn't a teachers Pet I just never got caught." He muttered. He laughed though and walked with his family back to the palace.

Soara jumped when she heard her fathers voice behind her. "Well I hope one day I'll be able to blend better." She muttered. She sat up slightly as he continued to speak. She closed her eyes as he brushed his hand over her forehead. "I know dad...but it just it wasn't just that...I've never been cornered like that okay? Have you ever been shoved in a corner and called a freak and harrassed and touched?" She asked looking at him. She spotted Titus and smirked as he came over. She was surprised that there was no punishment.

"Hmph, if she takes after you she'll end up being picked on. No one likes the teacher's pet." Nagi chuckled. Ama walked happily between her parents laughing along side of them. When they got back to the palace, Ama quickly put on an apron to help Nagi with dinner. Apparently Yugo had a big announcement to make.

"You know...whenever you wish to hide you always go to the same place..." Came the soft, yet deep sound of Yugo's voice. He stared down at his daughter before taking a seat next to her. "I heard what happened at school." he replied softly, his hand gently running over her forehead. "You should know those things are not true. As I've told you, yes...I did capture your mother on the battle field..and yes I did force her to serve me. However, never did I rape her or put her under any sort of extreme punishment. For the most part, she stayed in the kitchen with Anita-san. I've never done anything like that to your mother and she's certainly never had to beg for her life. Your mother is strong. I doubt she would have begged even if I had left her in the dungeon." Yugo replied softly. "I understand how you must feel...but you can not allow simple words to effect you. Thats all they are, words. They have no truth Soara. You know that your mother and I love both you and Titus. You know that having you two was the happiest moment of both our lives. Honestly...I had doubts if it was even possible for a neko and wolf to conceive. However, after your aunt was able to, I figured that it must be possible." Yugo whispered.

As they spoke, Titus stood right outside the door that led to the garden. He was about to turn around when Yugo suddenly let out a loud bark. Titus was crazy if he thought he could just walk away. Yugo now had the twins sitting beside each other. "I wont punish you two for what happened today...although...Titus, you should know that you went too far. We're going to do something about that anger of yours very soon son."

Daichi grinned as his daughter kicked everyone elses butt. As she approached he returned her hug and smiled. "You did amazing sweetheart." he assured her. He pulled back as she approached her mother. As AMA recalled some workers he laughed. "You never told methag. I on the ther hand was a model student. Let's hope you act more like me then." he teased.

After a couple hours Soara left her room. Going outside to the gardens she laid in one of the fields of flowers. She was sort of trying to hide from her father as he had just left his meeting. Putting her arms behind her head she stared up at the sky.
