Fire & Ice II: Age of Rebirth(private/mature/continued)

Daichi looked at his wife and sighed everythin he said seemed to b wrong. "Yes i mean tat. Go ahead let her." He said trying to keep a serious expression. Whn his duagter punched his tail he lauged lightl hittin her with it. At the mention of Kira he looked at her his brow furrowing in orry. "Well...maybe she is just a late bloomer." He suggesed. "I am sure there are plenty of kids like that. Ormayb she isnt a fire user. He suggested.

"Bald???" Nagi frowned, instantly turning her nose up at the idea. She stared hard at Daichi wondering if what he had said was true. "I see...so I could have Kira cut off all my hair right now and you wouldn't freak?" she asked, eyeing him. "I can cut mommy's hair?" Kira asked, her golden eyes lighting up. "No sweetheart..." Nagi sighed. Kira pouted. Why did everyone else get to have all the fun? Frowning, Kira slowly moved out of her chair and walked up to Daichi tugging on his pants. "Hey daddy, I've been training hard to be like nee-san. See, lookie!" she smiled and balled her tiny hands into fists. She threw a couple of slow jabs at his tail. Nagi covered her mouth. She loved how cute Kira was. If it had been Ama at that age, she would have probably bit Daichi's tail right off. "Oh...about Kira..." Nagi whispered and pulled her daughter into her lap. "I'm...concerned." she stated and covered Kira's ears. "When Ama was her age she already had a good grasp on how to use wind and fire elements. Kira hasn't shown any talent for using any of the elements though. All the other pups her age all play boom tag...but she's the only one who cant use fire. Its got me very worried. I mean...I try not to compare her to Ama but...even I could make use of fire at Kira's age."

Kiku frowned at her husband as he continued to insist that she give up on him. She loved him so much though. As he dirfted off she kissed his forehead before heading to the library. She would find a cure no matter what!

Daichi took at bite of the food and smiled. "I love it thank you." he replied. He listened intently as she told him of what was happening outside his room. "I really hope Yugo gets better..." he muttered. He worried about his sister's sanity. At the mention of her hair he laughed. "Of course I do. You could be bald and I would still love it." he assured her kissing her lightly.

ic: Yugo let out a deep sigh. He knew convincing Kiku to take another mate wasn't going to be easy. She was loyal...too loyal. Yugo couldn't stand to see her unhappy for even a second longer. He knew that Kiku had placed allot of hope in a cure, but Yugo had doubts that one existed. It wasn't like he had come down with an illness. His soul had been sucked right out of his body. He looked up at Kiku one more time before he began to drift off. "Please...focus on Titus and Soara..." he begged her before passing out finally.

Kira reluctantly went into her mother's arms. Nagi sat her down at the table and walked over to the oven. "Hope you like it." she smiled and pulled the plate out. She placed it on the table and took her seat next to Daichi. She hadn't seen him in about two weeks and wanted to fill him in on everything that was happening. "So...nii-sama is still the same. He has his good days and bad days...though his bad days seem to be increasing. Ama still refuses to see any potential mates. She's old enough to start having children of her own yet she refuses. She said, and I quote, 'I wont mate with anyone weaker then me.' " Nagi sighed and shook her head. "She's seriously dead set on it too. I've been able to find a few promising males, but she always finds an excuse to turn them down." Nagi frowned while Kira entertained herself with one of her toys. "Oh...um..." Nagi whispered and twirled her finger around the ends of one of her bangs. "Do you like my hair? I decided to cut it. Kira kept on pulling it...and I thought that wearing it shorter would look...I dont know...good?"

ic: Kiku frowned at her husband. "I..I try not to cry...I just miss being able to do things with you." she whispered. "I won't give up though I am going to find a way to get you better no matter what. One day we will be together again, the way we used to." she promised.

Daichi laughed as his daughter wouldn't allow him to eat. "I promise we can play after. Mommy made Daddy a special dinner." he explained kissing her forehead. He handed her over to her mother and went to the food. "Mmm...looks amazing!" he said.

"I know..and I love you too..which is why I just want your happiness." Yugo breathed. He held her hand tightly in his own as his heart beat finally slowed down. "Its been 17 years Kiku...for 17 years I've had to watch you suffer. I'd had to listen to you cry at night. It hurts...it hurts so much. I believe that there's someone better out there for you. I understand that the fire in the ring I gave you still burns. It will never fade. However...I think its time you thought more about yourself.."

Kira threw her arms up in the air. Nagi placed the dish she had made inside the oven and sat down. A soft smile formed on her lips as she watched her baby play with her father. Kiku wasn't the only one who had went without for 17 years. Nagi had basically put her love life on hold. She was far too busy taking care of Kira and researching a way to cure Daichi. She had tried to be intimate with him as much as possible, but that anger he had just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. Nagi didn't blame him though. No, she blamed Elder Dai and the tattoo he had given Daichi. "Hun you should eat. I worked hard to cook you something special." Nagi smirked. She knew Kira would object though. "~Nooooooo!~" Kira cried and wrapped her small arms around Daichi's neck. "Its play time! You promised mama..." she pouted. Nagi laughed softly and rose from her seat stretching her arms out towards her daughter. "You can play after your father eats, I promise."

Kiku noded as she looked at hr husbands feeble body. Li love you and always wll you know tat rght?" She sked softly.

Daichi heard the door open and turned to see his daughter jumping into his arms. "Hey there sweety. " he smiled kindly. He didnt have any anger today tankfully. He lookd up at Nagi. "Thanks." He grnned as he ent to see what was but his daughter begged for his attention. "Okay okay." He laughed lightly tossing her ino the air.

"I know." Yugo replied softly while reaching out for her hand. "Those two have to learn sooner or later that they can only succeed when they work together. If they dont get it soon...it wont matter if I live or not because their enemies will destroy them." Yugo replied softly, his body trying to relax. It was hard though. Yugo was either always in pain or always tired.

Meanwhile, Nagi had unlocked the door to Daichi's room. As soon as she did Kira rushed inside. "Kira wait!" Nagi yelled but it was too late. The little girl had jumped right into Daichi's arms. For a moment, fear flooded Nagi's eyes. She hadn't sensed too much anger coming from the room which is why she had entered, but she still had wanted to visually confirm Daichi's mood before allowing Kira to enter. Sighing deeply, she closed the door behind her. "I made you something nice honey." Nagi whispered, her body just a little on edge. Kira was having the time of her life though. "Daddy play with me!!"

Soara followed the other two out of the room after thanking her father. Sanding there she looked at Titus. "Well i doubt he wil mature for that long." She muttered before stalking off. She had no idea who she was going to take with her. She knew that they ddnt need super powerful warriors for this so they could leae most of those there to protect the city.

Kiku looked at her husband. "Are you sure about this?" She asked. "Titus still hates Soara, they are not going to get along." She pointed out

Ama nodded as well. She understood Yugo's point of view perfectly. The humans needed to be dealt with. They were crazy to think that they could march against the one's who had given them a place to live and eat. "Leave in 24 hours." Yugo ordered. Ama nodded and walked out followed by Titus. "Damn I wanted to be put in charge..." he grumbled and crossed his arms over his chest. "Well I am older and do out rank you." Ama chuckled and poked Titus in the chest. "Now, we are gonna need to work together. Consider this to be a real mission even if we're just dealing with humans. There will be no room for fighting among ourselves. So, whatever beef you two have with each other you'd better grill it up and eat it." Ama frowned, her playfulness vanishing. Titus didn't say a word. As long as Soara stayed out the way he'd be fine. "Now, pick your squads and meet me at the north gate. Uncle Yu-san wants us to leave in 24 hours but we'll be moving out before that. You've got five hours to find and equip the warriors you need."

Soara looked at her father as he questioned Titus's where abouts. "No idea he petends i dont exsisce." She stated. Then he came chargijng into the room followed by Ama. When Yugo began to state their mission she smired. "Finally." Se muttered under her breath. She was happy for the mission but wrried hat their father wouldnt be there when they retrned. She nodded at his orders. "We'll do it for you daddy." She said.

ooc: thats fine. I had to look for a while just to find a head shot of an older Titus. Never did find the rest of him >>

ic: "B-But." Yugo frowned though paused when Soara came rushing in. Sighing, he laid his head back against his pillow. "Where is your brother and cousin?" he asked, though soon enough Titus showed up. He didn't even look at Soara as he walked in. "You called?" he asked, his brow arching. Shortly after Ama joined them. Now that all three of them were together Yugo cleared his throat. "You three have all made me very proud. Your growth has surpassed my expectations." Yugo replied softly. "The only thing you lack now is real battle experience. You'll be crushed by the dragons without it. So, I have a mission for you three." Yugo stated and pointed over to a map that was sitting on his desk. On it was a big red circle marked over an area within their territory. "The humans...they're becoming a real problem." Yugo breathed, his eyes closing once more. "They've become bold. They ignore our rules, invade our hunting grounds, and now...now there are humans who call themselves 'demon slayers' They fight wearing armor made from demon hide and wield weapons made from demon bone. They are the most dangerous kind of human. I've just received information from a few scouts. The humans...they've put together a small army. They're being led by a Feudal Lord and intend to press further into our territory. The army is being esscorted by a band of demon slayers. The humans number about two hundred in all..." Yugo stated, though had to take a break to catch his breath.

"I want you three to intercept that army. Each of you is to pick a squad of five warriors. Lead your squads and destroy the human army. Kill everyone..let none live.." Yugo instructed. "I want the remains sent back to the human villages so that they know we're serious. If the dragons find out that we cant even manage our human problems we will be in even more trouble." Yugo sighed deeply and shifted his gaze towards the three. "Ama...I'm placing you in charge. You'll have full command over the mission."

Ooc: okay sounds good. I can not however find any pictures for Soara.

Ic: Soara was in the library like usual when she recieved the letter. She sprinted into her father and mother's room as she looked at th scene before her. Kiku knelt next to her husband taking his hand in hers. "Don't say such things you're going to get better." She insisted. At the metion of taking another mate she shook her head. "I could never...i wil always loe you." She whispered "the ring still has the fire of our love." She stated holding it up so he could see the briliant flame.

ooc: Oh, both Soara and Titus have just recently graduated. Forgot to point that out since I was gonna do Titus after explaining everything that had happened to Nagi/Ama

"Nee-san lets play!!!" Kira exclaimed and continued to jump on Ama's stomach. "Kira be good." came Nagi's voice from inside. She was currently preparing dinner for Daichi. Nagi had managed to lose all of her baby weight, but found it hard to find times to train. Kira wasn't as much a handful as Ama had been growing up, but the girl needed constant watching. Also, Ama was a little bit more protective due the events of recent years. She felt so vulnerable with her brother or Daichi close by. Getting up, Ama picked scooped Kira into her arms and carried her inside. "We're all visiting dad right?" she asked. "Yes we are." Nagi smiled and put he finishing touches on her dinner. She had pan seared some chicken, seasoned it was garlic herbs, and cooked some tasty baby carrots for Daichi.

Meanwhile, Titus sat outside in the garden. Like Soara and Ama, he had done allot of growing too. He had just recently graduated from the academy and like Soara had been given an officer's rank. Although he insisted he was worthy of a higher rank he had to make due with the rank of lieutenant. His attitude towards Soara hadn't changed at all. No...he saw her as nothing more then a burden on their family. Sighing, Titus sat back enjoy his tea. It was one of the few pleasures he could indulge in. He spent most of his day fighting and training with the other soldiers. He had grown strong, strong enough to probably take on Yugo had he been healthy.

Just as Ama was about to leave with her mother a messenger came running up to her demanding that she come to Yugo's room at once. The same message was given to Titus and Soara. Inside Yugo's room, the alpha looked like he could die any second. Yugo was laying on the bed, his eyes closed. "Kiku.." he whispered softly knowing that she was somewhere close by. "I've wanted to talk to you about something. I-I know that I wont be able to get any better. I'm dying..and nothing can change that. I consider myself lucky to have lived for this long." he whispered softly and paused to take in a deep breath. "I want you to take another mate. Find someone who can love you..so one who can give you what you need. Tell me, how long has it been since I was last able to hold you, kiss you, make love to you? I know its been hard. Its not fair to you...to be stuck with me." Yugo whispered, his fangs lightly piercing his bottom lip. "So...I want you to take another mate. I dont care if he is a wolf or neko...I-I just...want you to be happy..."

ic: Since the 17 years had passed Kiku grew more and more worried for her husband. She wanted him to getm better more than anything else. She missed being able to hold him and kiss him. But she couldn't do these things and neither could he. She still searched countless hours a day looking for some kind of cure anywhere. She would do anything but time and time again she came up empty handed. Not to mention the approaching battle on top of everything.

Soara hadn't gotten much better in the 17 years either. She was able to be slightly happier but she was still depressed more than anything else. Her thoughts frequently traveled back to her first love and she had even arranged that a grave be made which she visited every couple months. Though she had grown physically in the years that had passed. Like Ama she was absolutely gorgeous. At school boys would look at her and whistle as she passed. (I am not sure if her and Titus would have graduated or not yet) She also trained a lot harder physically for the upcoming battle but she still kept her mental aspects up as well.

Nagi had her baby and Soara tried her best to stay involved with her life. She visited often. And Kira would tackle her. Daichi on the other hand spent hours a day simply pacing his room as he wanted a way out to see his daughter. But the demonic curse still crept up time and time again and he would go into a fit of anger.

ic: 17 years had passed since the dragons had practically invaded the capital. Somehow, Yugo had managed to cling to life though his condition never improved. No..it seemed to get a little worse with each passing day. Now Yugo couldn't even get out of bed. He had to be fed and clothed as well. The only thing he could do on his own was speak...and even that he had trouble with. Konna had made it her mission to protect what belonged to Yugo and Nagi. She realized that even if Nagi didn't want to get Soara, Ama, or Titus involved it was a bit too late. So, she had granted the three of them permission to train for the upcoming fight which would decide their fates.

Ama had taken the training to heart. She had graduated from the academy with flying colors! Her marks even surpassed that of her grandfather's. After graduating she was promoted to an officer's rank immediately and within the span of only a year had been promoted to the rank of Major. The only thing stopping her from moving further up the ranks was the fact that she was still a hybrid. While the tolerance for hybrids was higher there was still some opposition. In fact, the capital had made some impressive changes. Now, trade had been established between the north and south. The nekos that were running Kiku's kingdom were permitted to travel to the Ogami capital to trade goods. It was a risky move, but Konna needed to bring in cash as quickly as possible if she wanted to fund the rebuilding of their army.

Ama was walking through the halls. She had grown into a true beauty. Her white tail swayed gracefully behind her as she headed to her mother's room. Nagi had been able to have her baby, but unfortunately Daichi couldn't be there. During the last few years Nagi had tried her hardest to ensure that her new daughter grew up knowing who her father was. She scheduled visits to give her daughter the chance to talk and play with her father. Nagi had also managed to get Daichi out of his cell, though he was confined to a special room that sealed off all traces of his demonic energy leaving him harmless...in theory.

As soon as Ama opened the door she was tackled into the ground! Her little sister had done some serious growing. "Ouch.." she mumbled and looked up. Bouncing ontop of her was a hyperactive little runt with short brown hair and golden eyes. Nagi could only assume that she had inherited Yugo's color of hair. "Nee-san!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "Kira..." ama sighed. "Hey where's Soara?! She promised she'd play with me too!!" she exclaimed. Ama rolled her eyes. Where was Soara? Normally Ama made sure to talk Soara into entering the room first so she'd be the one to get tackled instead..

Kiku glared at him "get out now." She snapped pointing at the door. When Yugo spoke she walked over climbing into the bed with im. "I cant leave you..." she whispered kissing his cheek.

Soara stood on the outside ledge of the balcony staring down. She had tears still streaming down her face from everything. Things were just getting wrse and worse. Titus wantedher dead, the dragons were at their throats, Jann as dead...,and Yugo was close to it as well.

Yugo was panting pretty hard. He was clutching his chest with his hand in attempt to ease his heart rate. It was either to week or beating to quickly. "One day...you're gonna realize that I was right...and when that day comes...and all of your excuses have run out...you'll wish that you had listened to me." Titus frowned and turned storming out of the room. Yugo rolled onto his back. Somehow his pale complexion looked even worse. "Kiku.." he mumbled, his voice almost completely gone. "Do not...allow...family...to fall...apart. Save it...forget...me...save it..." he whispered just before finally passing out. His condition was at its worse..

Kiku stared at her son. "You are so naive. How do you think your father and i met? Hm? I betrayed my family to be with him! Did you know that? So di Daichi he broke Nagi out when he wasnt suposed to he ran awa. We helped in the war against our family. And we dd it because of love. It maks you do stupid and crazy things." She explained. When Yugo spoke she looked at him. "Look you're upseting your father stop this!" She yelled.

"Dont lump me and her together! I know I'm at fault and I'm willing to help by fighting for us! Soara doesn't give a shit about our family though! She only cares about herself!!" Titus yelled right back. The fact that Kiku was taking Soara's side infuriated him. "This has nothing to do with love. The facts are that even after she discovered she was being used she STILL wanted to be with him. Tell me, what would have happened if Jann had taken the opportunity to kill you instead of freeing you? How do we even know he was going to free you? Konna got to him first didn't she?" Titus growled as he planted his feet firmly into the floor. He wasn't going to leave. Someone had to wake Kiku up from the dream she was having. Suddenly, Yugo let out a pained cry. His body..it hurt all over. He started coughing violently. His eyes partly opened resting on Titus. "Stop...Soara...not...blame. My...fault..." he coughed while holding his hand over his heart.

Kiku stood up and glared at her son. "That is enough! I've just about had it with your attitude. We all need t stand by each other and you're throwing her under he bus. If you remember correctly Jann trie to help me because of her. She loved him its a normal feeling. Maybe you dont know it and thats your problem. Not to metion she told your fathr that she didnt blame him if he locked Ann up.at last she didnt insist on anything." She snapped. "You helped with the dragon proble but you dont see u treatin you like dirt." She pointed out. "Now until you learn some compassion get out!" She growled.

"Well..I mean I understand why you're so worried about dad. I'm worried too, but..this fight is just as important right? Whats gonna happen if dad get better but we end up losing to those damn dragons? The deal was the loser submits to the winner meaning that they could demand anything from us." Titus explained. He knew that Kiku wasn't in the mood to hear it though. When she mentioned his treatment of Soara, Titus turned his nose up. "Why? I'd say she's getting what she deserves. All of this is because of her, because she allowed herself to be used. Even after she realized it she STILL wanted Jann. She still decided to go to him while dad was out and you were down in the dungeon. We should have just handed her over to that Kim person and all our problems would have been solved. I dont even know why dad declined..."

Kiku stared at her son as he insisted that he and his cousin be allowed to fight. "And your sister." she added. "It is up to Nagi and Konna for now. At the moment I am busy worrying about your father not this fight. That will happen in due time but this needs to be taken care of." she stated. "And another thing you need to stop treating your sister like crap." she growled.

Soara swung her feet over the railing. Looking down at the ground she swung her feet back and forth. Reaching up she wrapped her hand around the necklace that Jann had gotten her long ago. She squeezed her eyes shut as she felt tears burning again.

Titus had followed his mother and Nagi. Once Yugo was placed on the bed Nagi left, but Titus stayed behind. "Mom Ama and I have to fight!" he exclaimed while leaving Soara out once again. "It doesn't matter who is a pure blood or not. This is our fault so we should do something about it! Also, you're an Ogami by marriage right? That means that you and uncle Daichi should be able to fight too." he stated, though paused after realizing that Daichi was still being held in his cell. Titus looked down at the ground. So many things had gone wrong. It seemed that one problem after another just kept popping up. "Talk to auntie Nagi and Konna-san. We dont have five years to figure out what we're gonna do. We need to figure it out right now and spend the rest of that time training."

Soara was also confused as to what the problem was. She was angry when Titus left her out. "And me." She snapped. Nagi though dismissed all these possibilities. "Why not?" She asked incrediously. She was however met by an answer. Nagi insisted on pure bloods only. "Well then Kenji cant he's adopted!" She pointed out. At the mention of rest though she couldnt argue. Leaving the throne room she went to her room shutting he door. Going out onto the balcony she sat on the stone ledge. Pulling her knees to her chest as her thoughts went back to Jann.
Kiku took one of Yugo's arms as she heped him back to their rom. Laying next to him she sighed. "Thi is not good..." she muttered.
