Fire & Ice II: Age of Rebirth(private/mature/continued)

Kora clung tightly to Titus as the wolves emerged from the trees. She burried her face in his chest trying to cover up her scent. When they disregarded Titus being royalty she felt her heart skip a beat. They were done for. "You said you could handle this..." she muttered.

"No.." titus mumbled, not really meaning to wake Kora. He knew that she was tired even though he was doing all of the running. "My..so called sister's scent is unmistakable. This is completely different." Titus stated and suddenly slammed on the brakes. He came to a sharp stop just as three very large wolf demons jumped down from the trees above in front of him. The ones that had been tailing them quickly caught up. "Well well what have we hear? Two little snacks have found their way into our lair.." One of them smirked while the others licked their lips. Titus let out a board sigh and held Kora tightly against his chest. "I am Titus Ogami. Stand down." he ordered. The wolves all looked at each other. "Son of the war chief?" one of them asked. Titus nodded. "Ah..well in that case we'll definitely have to kill you. Your father and your bitch of an aunt murdered allot of our warriors just because our tribe wouldn't join their stupid union!" The leader spat. "Death to the Ogami!" one howled. "Fuck." Titus muttered, his ears folding back as bared his dagger like fangs. It was five against one. Luckily for Titus, he excelled in close range combat

Kora fell asleep in Titus's arms as he sprinted through the forest. Eventually she woke not sleeping for more than a half hour. When he spoke of the other wolves she nodded. "You don't have to worry about that." she promised him. "Maybe it's your sister and Noel." she suggested when he said they were being tailed.

Titus let out a hard laugh. So he was her carriage? It kinda made sense if she was his map. Smirking Titus pushed his feet off from the ground going into a sprint. He ran for as long as light remained. As darkness crept over the horizon though he began to slow down a little. "Damn this day went by quick." Titus groaned as he dashed along the forest floor with Kora still in his arms. Technically they were still in wolf demon territory, but had long passed the personal territory of the Ogami. "Oh...um if we by chance run into some other wolves just let me do the talking." Titus insisted, his eyes darting off to the right. "We're being followed. Actually, they've been tailing us for some time now..."

Kora shrugged "I guess so." she replied. It would be nice to be able to see in the dark like he could. She allowed him to scoop her up and smiled. "Now we go more south than east." she stated pointing in a relative direction that way. "Onward my personal carriage."

"Haha thats too bad. I bet you wish you had my eyes." Titus smirked as he scooped her up into his arms. He turned to stomp out the fire before they left. Once it was out his dark brown eyes moved over to what was left of the deer. "Hm its really a waste to leave it here..but I'm sure something will pick it up eventually. That and we cant take any with us unfortunately." Titus sighed. "So, where to now my lovely personal map?"

Kora took Titus's hand and stood. Wiping the dirt off her clothes. "Last time I checked I couldn't see in the dark no." she replied with a laugh. "Let's hit it then." she sighed as she waited for the hybrid to lift her into his arms and start off at his crazy speed.

Titus nodded softly. He was kinda surprised that Kora understood where he was coming from. He figured that because she was human she'd have a problem relating. A small smile soon formed on his lips. Maybe she and him weren't all that different. "Alright then." Titus smirked as he stood to his feet and stretched his arms out. "You ready to get moving? I wanna cover as much ground as we can before night fall." He stated and walked over around the fire offering her a hand up. "When night comes we'll make camp. I dont wanna risk getting lost unless you're sure that you can navigate in the darkness."

Kora frowned as Titus explained how people had treated him as. Child. "Well thats not really fair is it? You cant help that your parents broke the ules. Not to mention they just love each other what is so wong about that?" She asked. "It seems that your people have the same prblem Noel and other humans do. They think just because one of a species is bad it all is but thats not true..."

"they're not just different." Titus smiled as he grabbed a few extra logs and tossed them into the fire to keep it going. "My father, as I'm sure you know, is a wolf demon. My mother and her brother however are neko's from the north. They're two completely different species who by some miracle ended up falling in love. Which...well is the root to why me, my cousin, and...Soara aren't liked. You see, wolves and nekos have been sworn enemies for a while. The two dont mix blood, yet my parents and aunt did which created the first hybrids." Titus explained and stretched his hand out towards the flame. "It was really hard growing up. Dad..well he had allot of expectations that I couldn't really fulfill. I've never really been good at working with other demons, which is what wolf demon combat is based on. But, its not all bad. I got to inherit my father's ability to use fire. I can burn anything." Titus smirked and shot a tiny fireball over Kora's head. "My cousin Ama, the girl with the long white hair, she can use fire, earth, wind, and water all evenly. She's kinda a prodigy that one.." Titus smiled, though sighed softly. He had been fighting to catch up to AMa for a while and she still seemed so far away

Kora listened intently as Titus retold the story of how he wast aloud out. Finishing the food she tossed it into thefire. "But they did it for your safety." She stated. At the mention of hybrid she raised an eybrow. "What dos that mean? I noticed your mother and father look different but i thought maybe she was special." She was confused. "Why do they treat you differently?"

Titus laughed softly. He kinda wished he could have seen Kora in action. After hearing her question, he closed his eyes letting out a steady sigh. "Well..I didn't know what it was like growing up to be honest. The castle was more like a prison. We weren't allowed to go into the city unless we had an armed escort. It made making friends...very difficult." Titus replied softly, his eyes still closed. "When I got older though it got easier. I'm now able to leave the castle whenever I want and without the guards. I really dont get treated all that differently from anyone else. I mean, I maybe a prince, but I'm a hybrid first. Our kind..well..wasn't really liked. To a point we still aren't, but its gotten better."

Kora greatfully took the next stick of meat. She ate this one a lot slower though. "Thanks." She said as she nibled at the meat. At his question she laughd. "Yes. They may act tough but they were such whiners! Every little thing. It was sort of annoying but i enjoyed it. Too." She explained. "Whats it like being a prince?"

Titus watched with wide eyes. He had never saw a girl...or anyone else eat as fast as Kora had. "Want another?" Titus asked, and handed her one more pike. He was still working on his first one though. "So...um..." Titus muttered, his eyes shifting to the side as he searched for something to talk about. "You're a healer right? Was it hard working for such a large army?"

Kora scooed closer to the fire excitedthat she could finally eat. "Yes!" She took a stick and blew on the meat. Whhen it finally cooledshe bit into it hungrily. "Mmm....this is so good." She said. In only a couple minutes it was gone. "Thanks for that." She smiled satisfied.

"Yes we can eat now." Titus chuckled. He had just gotten out of the water so his once dark spiky hair now came down to his lower back. He reached into the flames pulling out one of the pikes and inspecting the meat. "Its hot." Titus warned her and jabbed the pointed side into the ground in front of her. He then made himself comfortable on the other side of the fire. Titus looked up inspecting the sky. He figured they only had a few hours of daylight left and wanted to travel a little bit more.

Kora didn't reply to his comment as she sngrily crossed her arms. When he finally returned she looked at him. "Can we eat yet?" she asked clearly starving. She stared at the meat roasting over the fire.

"Seriously? How long are you going to go on about that? I'm thinking you liked it since you keep on brining it up.." Titus stated before walking towards the stream. He stripped off his clothes and jumped into the cold water. His warm body quickly heated it up though turning it into a hot spring. By the time he came back the meat was fully cooked and ready to eat.

Kora wasn't sure if he was joking with his last statement or not. "What? Not true. I don't grope people in their sleep." she teased. She licked her lips wanting the food to be ooked she was so hungry. She felt her stomach growl as she watched it cook.

"Do i?" titus blinked and sniffed himself. "I smell fine to me..but I guess I could take a dip into the stream thats just a few minutes from here." he stated with a smile. He got a small laugh out Kora's joke. "Well why do you think I killed such a big animal? We've got to fatten you up." Titus stated with a devilish grin while he licked his lips. He turned back around checking on the meat. He could eat it raw, he just preferred not to. "Give it a few more minutes. I'm gonna go wash up." he stated and was about vanish into the brush again, but suddenly paused. "Dont you even think about peeking. I've read the stories. I know all about you humans and your issues with lust."

"You smell..."Kora stated when he came close. As h spoke she grinned "i guess i wll take your word for it. I probably wouldnt taste good anyway i am a little skinny." She pointed out. Sticking her tongue out at him with a laugh. "This food almost done?" Se asked.

"Oooooh." titus smirked as he walked up to her leaning down so that their noses were only inches apart. "could it be that you're afraid of me? Who knows. I mean, I am a demon so I might just eat you after this trip is over right?" Titus grinned, but then pulled back laughing softly. "Ha, you wish. Sorry but I dont eat humans. I dont hurt girls either so you're perfectly safe with me." He stated giver her a thumbs up.

Kora wasnt sure what to say. "I'm not a tight ass i'm just scared. I am traveling with a demon." She pointed out. Standing she looked around before sitting next to the fire again. "Thank you..." she said smiling slightly. Though she thought Titus unpredictable she still was happy he was there.

"Beast???" Titus blinked looking back at the deer. "This is gonna be your lunch and dinner." he sighed and flexed his claws. He looked back to check and see if the fire was still going. "You know you're kinda a tight ass..I dont understand why you're always so jumpy. Loosen up a bit for crying out loud. Its not like anything is gonna happen to you out here." Titus muttered and began to cut the deer open getting rid of all the nasty bits. Once he was done with that tore out large chunks of meat with his bare hands and placed them on pikes so they could roast over the fire. The only problem was that most of his clothes and arms were covered in blood and flesh from the animal so he smelled a little..well...allot actually.

Kora was enjoying the sounds of the forest until Titus came storming in. "What the hell!" She yelled. Jumping up she wasnt sure what the beast was going to do. Then Titus was coming out from under it. "Yeah you think? You just stormed in with that...beast." she snapped.
